WWE NXT will present Vengeance Day this Saturday on Peacock and Netflix from Orlando, FL with a 7:00 PM Eastern start time for the show. Here is what we think will happen.
Men's World Championship Match: Joe Hendry vs Ricky Saints
Dave: That segment on Tuesday......bad! I have Joe retain here. It's too soon for him to lose the belt.
Mike: I don't know what that was on Tuesday beyond a failed experiment. It seems really soon for Joe Hendry to lose the title after all he worked to achieve. After all, the belt is the physical manifestation of everything Hendry fought to achieve for himself over the last several years, so why take it off him this quickly? My gut is Joe retains.
Richard: The build for this match hit a brick wall on Tuesday night with the 'performance' by 'Ricky'. The question is not whether Joe can beat Ricky, but can Joe beat Ricky with help from the Vanity Project and maybe Ethan Page? Will Joe have any help to neutralize any outside interference? I think Joe retains.
Street Fight: Blake Monroe vs Jaida Parker
Dave: Blake is still a work in progress here. I would put Parker over and see what happens as she rises.
Mike: We know Blake has no trouble brawling all over since we saw her doing it in AEW. I wonder if the claim that Parker was out with a neck issue will be something they play off of here with Parker selling the neck to give Blake more of a competitive edge. I can see WWE wanting to give Parker the win here. They seem to be playing the long game with Blake as there's no sign she's going to be called up anytime soon, so why not give Parker the win?
Richard: Is this the night that Jaida Parker gets to the next level or is this the night that WWE figures out Blake Monroe? The street fight will allow this match to get a bit off the beaten path and let things happen that might not belong in a 'standard match'. I think Jaida gets the win and will move into the World title picture.
Tony D'Angelo vs Dion Lennox
Dave: Tony is just getting started. It would make no sense for him to lose here.
Mike: It's way too early in this storyline for Tony to lose to anyone. He's got to get through some of the group to tell the story.
Richard: If Tony wins, we can find out what step two of the Tony D'Angelo D'estruction Tour is. I almost want Dion to win so we don't find out. I can't see any way that Tony doesn't win since he has destroyed this group by himself. Long live D'Angelo Day.
Underground Match: Lola Vice vs Kelani Jordan
Dave: Given the stip it would seem that the former MMA fighter would go over here.
Mike: This was a weird one for me since putting it in the Underground environment, on paper, seems to take away a lot of Kelani's uniqueness as a performer. Vice is a former BELLATOR fighter, so I am guessing this will be a vehicle for her, since they seem to be pushing her quite a bit lately.
Richard: Kelani is definitely at a disadvantage based on Lola's MMA background, but she trained for one week and Lola has a bad hand so she has the advantage. The lack of ropes will limit what Kelani can do. If Lola is not 'injured' but injured, I see Kelani winning. If it is storyline, I think Lola wins since her upside is greater in the short term in both WWE and AAA.
Women's North American Championship Match: Izzi Dame vs Tatum Paxley
Dave: This should go back and forth. I could see Paxley coming out on top.
Mike: I could make an argument that this should close the show given how much time they've put into the story over the last six months. I expect a title change here.
Richard: Will Tatum's character evolve to the next level after this match? I don't know if there is an evolution, but she will have something to put around her waist that she didn't have going into this match. I think Tatum is an underutilized talent on NXT and there is a lot more they can do with her than with Izzi. This should have more violence than the street fight because of their history. This match could steal the show. Tatum wins the title.
