From Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan:

Moloney pins Jay after hitting the Drilla Killa.

After the match, OSKAR and Newman continued to fight.  OSKAR locked in the Sleeper and Newman passed out.  Officials came to break it up.  Newman was still baiting OSKAR after being separated.

5 - Tomoaki Honma, Master Wato and Taichi vs. Dick Togo, DOUKI and Ten Narita

Taichi applies Seitei Jujiro on Togo and gets the submission win.

Jackson pins Gedo after hitting The Jagged Edge.

NEW JAPAN CUP 2026 Round One Matches:

7 -  Aaron Wolf vs. Don Fale

Aaron Wolf comes to the ring with his own T-shirt, which is unusual for a young lion.   He is attacked by House of Torture.   Fale tried to put Wolf through a table, but Wolf avoids it and hits an Olympic Slam.   Narita his Wolf with his NEVER belt.    Fale hits the Hand Grenade.

Fale pins Wolf.

Don Fale advances in the New Japan Cup to face Shingo Takagi.

8 - Yuya Uemura vs. Great O-Khan

Uemura hits the Deadbolt Suplex and comes off the top rope with a Frog Splash.

Uemura pins O-Khan.

Yuya Uemura advances in the New Japan Cup to face Drilla Moloney.

Uemura cut a good promo to hype the crowd and the New Japan Cup that is to come.

New Japan Cup Thoughts:

New Japan is in a tough spot.   To be fair, the wrestling is solid.  However, the stars on the roster are severely lacking.    EVIL, SANADA and Hiromu Takahashi are out of the company.  David Finlay and Gabe Kidd are potentially gone.  Tomohiro Ishii is injured.  Yota Tsuji needs a good heel to defend his title against.   He already beat Jake Lee last month.    Ren Narita is not EVIL and needs to prove himself as a leader of House of Torture, despite holding the NEVER Title.   Callum Newman looks like the most despicable heel now, but can he be a main event wrestler and draw a crowd?   We shall see.   New Japan's first year under the retired Hiroshi Tanahashi will be a challenging one.
