WWE moved NXT from Las Vegas and off Wrestlemania 42 weekend as the timing of holding the show on the West Coast the last few times Mania has been in Los Angeles and Las Vegas worked against the company's overall scheduling for the biggest week of their year, PWInsider.com has been told by sources. The show had been internally planned for Vegas initially.
The feeling was that by moving the show up to 4/4, Stand and Deliver would have a stronger chance of standing alone (no pun intended) and wouldn't be lost in the sea of other WWE broadcast events taking place, plus the schedule change could also free up the WWE production crew from having to produce three events in a 24 hour time period (Smackdown, Hall of Fame, NXT) right before diving into Night One of Wrestlemania 42.
There will be no other NXT events broadcast from Las Vegas this year.
We were also cautioned that the Stand and Deliver move from Mania week should not considered a permanent decision. We are told that year by year, the company would evaluate and make the call as to the placement of the show. So, we could see the return of NXT to Mania week down the line, especially if Mania week isn't located on the West Coast.
NXT has traditionally run a live event or PPV dating back to Wrestlemania 31 weekend in 2015.
Shawn Michaels presented it as this year, NXT would be "standing on its own" by holding it 4/4 in St. Louis.
