PWInsider.com is saddened to report the passing of longtime Carolinas area ring announcer Brett Wolverton at the age of 44.
TNA's John Skyler, who started his career in that area, paid tribute to Wolverton, writing, "Can’t really find the words right now. Absolutely crushed and heartbroken. My whole world has been brought to stop today…. Wrestling lost one of its best human beings…and I lost a best friend of 20 years. Brett Wolverton was a loyal friend from day one for me. His laugh was just as infectious as his love for professional wrestling. I can’t believe you are gone. It won’t seem real for a long time. I know deep down you’d want me to make a joke at your expense today…but I don’t have it in me…too heartbroken…I’m going to miss you my friend….see you down the road."
Beyond his work in professional wrestling. Wolverton worked as the Chief Video Editor for FOX Carolina News, which paid tribute to him on today's broadcasts.
PWInsider.com sends our deepest condolences to the family, friends and fans of Brett Wolverton.
