Wrestle Kingdom 20 had an announced attendance of 46,913. Wrestlemania ticket sales have been slow due to high prices and problems with international travel. Those same issues could keep Summerslam attendance down as well. There has been no indication that AEW will have another Wembley show this year, and All In: Texas had less than 25K in attendance; I doubt AEW will match or exceed that in 2026. Is it possible that, at the end of the year, Wrestle Kingdom will still be the biggest show of 2026?
Since you submitted this, AEW has announced their return to Wembley for this summer and obviously WWE has two nights in Vegas at Wrestlemania. I'd suggest one of those events surpasses 46,000, but we'll see. I wouldn't assume Kingdom will be the biggest show of the year. If it turns out to be, it was only because of Hiroshi Tanahashi retiring vs. Kazuchika Okada, nothing else.
I saw Bryan Keith vs. Cappuccino Jones was originally advertised for WrestleRave on Feb 7 which would've been an AEW vs. WWE ID match but the match never ended up happening as Keith and Jones wrestled in separate singles matches on the show. Did WWE and/or AEW object to the match taking place and that's why it was changed?
It's a pretty easy assumption to make but I haven't heard anything specific. If one of the groups did, neither is going to admit it publicly.
Hi there, for me the Women's Rumble match was the highlight of the event. There was a moment looking at the final three I thought they might pull the trigger on Ruca going to Mania, which I would've been all for had it gone that way, with commentary playing off the way she was eliminated as inexperience compared to Morgan and Stratton. The ending with all three trading blows and flips on the apron was great, and seems to be a sign that even had there been a tremendous botch at the end, the company would have been very happy for any of the three to have a title match at mania. I know there hasn't been an outright question yet but, I suppose I'd like your thoughts on Rucas (deserved) rise and rise in a seemingly short window. Having watched NXT I also see a rising star in Kendal Grey with the caviat that the main roster is not Evolve or NXT.
I think it's pretty obvious that between The Royal Rumble and Cena Retirement show appearances, the company is high on Sol Ruca and they should be. She's great and will hopefully only improve from here. They have something special with both her and Kendal Grey and I suspect they will each be big pieces of the main roster in due time. There's no need to rush either of them.
I know you despise star ratings but for the sake of this question let's say you gave them. What criteria for you would a match need to meet to get 5 stars?
I've never said I "despise" star ratings, but I do believe that by giving something numeric ratings, you are assuming every wrestling match plays on the same wavelength. They do not. A lucha six man tag is different from a death match which is different from a battle royal which is different from a Tokyo Dome main event. They should all be looked upon as unique and let's face it, no two people are ever going to look at the same piece of media equally. I love Star Wars, especially the first film, to death. You may look at it and shrug and say you don't like it or get it. That doesn't make you wrong, for you. I think reducing things to a number or a star is silly. The criteria for a great match is that they take the audience on a great ride and pull everyone in emotionally. It doesn't have to be 100 near falls or 1,000 moves. It just has to hit the audience emotionally.
Whatever happened to Pedro Morales?
Unfortunately, Morales passed in 2019 following complications from Parkinson's Disease as well as a bout with cancer.
