2/4 AEW DYNAMITE IN VEGAS REPORT

AEW Dynamite is live from Pearl Theater at the Palms in Las Vegas, NV. The commentary team is Excalibur and Tony Schiavone.

We get quick promos from the wrestlers on the show tonight to hype up their matches.

Jon Moxley, PAC, and Daniel Garcia w/ Marina Shafir vs. Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander, and El Clon

Josh and Garcia start out the match and move to arm bars and quick takedowns. They run the ropes and then throw chops at each other. Josh forces Daniel to the corner and then they go back and forth until Garcia gets a shoulder tackle. Clon and PAC tag in and lock up, with PAC getting a side headlock takeover. They work to their feet and work arm bars. They run the ropes and PAC gets a hurricanrana and they go back to reversals.

Mox and Takeshita tag in and they throw hands. They try shoulder tackles and then everyone hits the ring for a brawl. Takeshita is the only member of the Don Callis Family left in the ring and PAC tags in and starts to work him over. The Death Riders work over Takeshita with quick tags. Takeshita tosses PAC to the floor and then tosses Garcia into Mox. Clon is tagged in and he gets a series of kicks on PAC.

PAC gets a German suplex on Clon as he comes off the ropes. PAC is tripped by Josh and Clon gets a swanton flip off the ropes as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we return to full screen, PAC has been the tweener in peril through the break. PAC fights his way out of the Family’s corner, but Josh is able to cut him off and goes for a knee drop, but misses. Josh and PAC crawl to their corners and we get Mox and Takeshita throwing hands. They move to kicks and Mox tosses Josh to the floor and then hits a cutter on Clon. He then turns Takeshita inside out with a clothesline after tagging in Garcia. Garcia locks on a Dragon Tamer, and Mox hits a curb stomp, but Takeshita gets out at two.

Time for dives from Clon, then Mox, and then in the ring, Takeshita rolls up Garcia for two. Takeshita hits a Blue Thunder Bomb for two because that move never ends a match. Garcia throws a big chop when Takeshita charges. Takeshita hits a wheelbarrow German suplex. He calls for Clon and Josh to hold Garcia as he hits a Power Drive Knee for two.

Takeshita gets Raging Fire for the pin and the win.

Winners: Konosuke Takeshita, Josh Alexander, and El Clon

Renee Paquette is with Swerve Strickland and Nana. Nana says their focus is at the top of All Elite, and they ain’t going nowhere.

We get a hype video for Will Ospreay after his successful neck surgery.

Orange Cassidy and Toni Storm vs. The Already in the Ring Jordan Oasis and Brittany Brooks

We get a nice showcase of the shenanigans we get from the team of Orange and Toni. Orange wins with an Orange Punch on Oasis for the pin.

Winners: Orange Cassidy and Toni Storm

After the match, both Orange and Toni say having a hair vs. hair match may have been a bad idea. Toni says she will be hideously bald, but after a brief cry, she says that won’t happen and they will either give Wheeler Yuta a combover and/or Marina Shafir will look like Mox.

We are then shown a video of Darby being ambushed by Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors and shoved in the trunk of a car before the show as Clark drives off with Darby in the trunk.

Hangman Adam Page vs. Mark Davis

We are told MJF will give Davis $1,000 if he injures Page, and Andrade raises it to $10,000.

They start by brawling and go back and forth. They trade chops and Page sends Davis to the floor with a low bridge. Page dives onto Davis on the floor. They brawl around the announce table and Davis is rolled into the ring, where Davis hits a suplex. Davis works over Page in the corner and Page rolls to the floor. Davis hits a running right hand as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we return to full screen, Davis chops Page down and covers for two. Davis puts Page on top and joins him there. Page fights back and bites Davis. He tries for a powerbomb, but Davis fights it off. Page sweeps the legs of Davis for two. Page gets a pair of springboard clotheslines and then tries for a powerbomb to the floor, but Davis reverses it on the floor. Davis charges at Page on the floor and Page avoids it.

Page hits a moonsault off the elevated barricade and rolls Davis into the ring. He then hits a moonsault press from the top for two. Davis lays in kicks and hits a backdrop driver. Davis tries for a BD Bomb, but Page reverses it into a hurricanrana for two. Davis gets an enziguri, a big lariat, and then a twisting slam for two.

Page is able to hit a lariat, but Davis shrugs it off and drops Page with a lariat. He follows by pulling Page to his feet, and Page is able to get a Deadeye for two. Both men struggle to get up. Page sets for a Buckshot Lariat and Davis sidesteps it. Davis grabs Page as Page tries to skin the cat. Page is able to reverse as they go over the ropes onto the ramp and Page gets a tombstone piledriver. Page hits the Buckshot Lariat for the pin and the win.

Winner: Hangman Adam Page

After the match, Page says he will win in Australia, and if it is his friend Kenny Omega, so be it. And then when he wins that match, he will face MJF, make it so he can’t have kids by stomping MJF’s balls, and take back the title he never should have lost.

Next is a hype video for Kevin Knight.

Kenny Omega vs. Andrade El Idolo

Don Callis joins commentary.

Andrade goes to the floor to get more counsel from Don. They lock up and then break quickly. They trade chops and Omega gets a leaping knee. Omega dives onto Andrade, who had rolled to the floor. Omega goes for a One Winged Angel on the floor. Andrade escapes and hits a suplex on Omega. Omega is rolled into the ring.

Andrade goes to the top and Omega attacks him and joins him there. Omega lays in blows and headbutts on top. Omega gets a superplex for two. Omega pulls Andrade up and chops him down. Omega hits You Cannot Escape for two. They trade blows and then run the ropes, where Andrade gets a flying forearm and kips up.

Andrade goes for a figure-four, but Omega gets a roll-up for two. Andrade hits a pair of suplexes, gator-rolls Omega to the floor, and hits the third suplex on the floor. Andrade dives from the ring onto Omega and then flirts with women in the front row as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we return to full screen, Andrade gets a scoop slam and then stomps on Omega before going to the top. Andrade goes for a two backflip drop, but Omega gets his feet up. Omega misses a knee in the corner and Andrade gets a figure-four. When Andrade bridges up, Omega is able to roll over. Andrade grabs the bottom rope for the break. They throw hands, starting on their knees and working to their feet.

Omega is able to get a pair of snap dragon suplexes. Omega tries for a third and instead gets a rolling kick to Andrade’s back. Omega hits a V-Trigger in the corner and puts Andrade on top. Omega joins him. Andrade is able to reverse Omega and gets a powerbomb from the corner. He hits a DDT on Omega for two.

Omega pulls himself to the corner as Andrade powers up. Andrade hits charging double knees in the corner for two. When they recover, they throw hands in the middle of the ring. Andrade gets a big boot and Omega follows up with a knee strike. Andrade gets a backfist.

Don Callis tosses a screwdriver into the ring as the ref is distracted. Swerve Strickland comes from the back and takes the screwdriver from Andrade. As the ref comes over to send Swerve from the ring, Andrade gets a low blow and follows with the DM for the pin and the win.

Winner: Andrade El Idolo

Excellent match until the screwy finish.

In the ring, Swerve and Omega have words and security hits the ring to pull them apart.

Next is a hype video for MJF vs. Brody King later tonight.

In the back, Renee is with Kris Statlander, who has given Thekla another shot at the Women’s Title if she doesn’t interfere in the tag team match. Kris also gets to pick the stipulation for their match, and she will do so on Collision.

Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron), Women’s Tag Team Champions, vs. Megabad (Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford) in an eliminator match

Megan and Willow start the match. Megan knocks Harley off the apron and then Ford and Megan double-team Willow. Willow slams them into each other, picks up Ford, and tags in Harley so she can slam Harley on Ford for two. Harley gets a hip attack on Ford and tags in Willow. Willow hits a suplex for two. Ford gets a jawbreaker and tags in Megan.

Megan works over Willow in the corner. Willow breaks the hammer throw and gets an enziguri. Willow goes to the top; Ford grabs Willow’s foot and that allows Megan to get a hurricanrana from the top. Megan then dives onto Willow on the floor as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we return to full screen, Willow has been the babyface in peril. Willow gets a pounce and crawls to her corner to tag in Harley, who runs wild as Ford is tagged in. Harley gets a pump-handle back suplex for two. Ford gets a clothesline and drags Harley to her corner and tags in Megan. Harley is able to turn a double vertical suplex into a pendulum DDT on Megan and Ford.

Megan goes to the top and Willow joins Harley for a double superplex. Ford gets a blockbuster and all four women are down. Harley gets a DDT on Megan and Willow gets a spinebuster for two. Harley is tagged in, and all four women are fighting in the ring. Megan and Ford hit a Doomsday Device on Harley for the pin and the win.

Winners and getting a title match: Megabad

We then get a video recap of Tommaso Ciampa winning the TNT Title from Mark Briscoe on Saturday.

In the back, Ciampa says he will carry on the tradition of an open challenge on Saturday. He has named the title belt Sylvia.

Ricochet (National Champion) vs. Jungle Jack Perry

Perry dives onto Ricochet as Ricochet comes to the ring and then dumps him to the floor. Perry then leaps onto Ricochet on the floor. He rolls Ricochet into the ring and then hits a spear before laying in blows on the mat. Perry then gives Ricochet a series of blows in the corner. He covers Ricochet for two.

Ricochet pulls Perry into the ropes and then climbs onto Perry’s back in the ropes. Ricochet works over Perry while taunting the crowd. Perry blocks a hammer throw and gets a series of elbow strikes and a kick off the ropes. Perry knocks Ricochet to the floor. Perry tries to slide into Ricochet, who catches him and slams him on the announce table as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we return to full screen, they are fighting through the ropes and Ricochet gouges the eyes and tries to clothesline Perry to the floor. Perry skins the cat and then dives onto Ricochet on the floor. Perry goes for a DDT and Ricochet blocks it and hits a Northern Lights suplex into two more suplexes and then a Death Valley Driver to the floor. Ricochet hits a leaping driver in the middle of the ring for two.

Ricochet rolls to the floor and grabs his title belt. As the ref is getting rid of the belt, Perry blocks the low blow. They go back and forth and Ricochet ends it with a lariat. Perry is able to get a poisonrana into a diving DDT. Perry hits a cutter for two. Ricochet gets a roll-up with a handful of tights for two. Perry gets the Snare Trap, and when Ricochet gets to the ropes, Perry pulls him back and reapplies the hold.

GOA comes to the apron and when Kaun starts to get into the ring, Toa Liona pulls Ricochet to the ropes. The Young Bucks come out and attack GOA. The Bucks and GOA fight to the back. Ricochet puts the belt on the turnbuckle and slams Perry’s head into it when the ref is distracted for the pin and the win.

Winner and still National Champion: Ricochet

In the video truck, we see Gabe and Clark as they show a video of them dragging Darby behind their car, and they leave Darby in a body bag in the desert.

MJF (AEW World Champion) vs. Brody King in an eliminator match

The crowd makes their political opinion known about ICE.

Before the lock-up, Hangman Adam Page comes to the stage. As MJF turns to look, Brody grabs MJF from behind and chokes him out. He hits a cannonball in the corner, hits a Gonzo Bomb for the pin and the win.

Winner and getting a World Title shot: Brody King

Brody now has a title shot at Grand Slam Australia.

Andrade attacks Brody from behind and drops him. Page then attacks Andrade and lays him out. Page goes for a Buckshot on MJF and MJF hits a low blow. Brody then hits MJF with a Gonzo Bomb and we see him holding the World Title as we are desperately out of time.
