Former WWE Champion AJ Styles has wrestled his last WWE match, losing to GUNTHER at the 2026 Royal Rumble.
Styles had announced his intentions to retire this year and The Rumble had been tabbed as one of the possible end dates.
PWInsider.com is told Styles is not currently slated to appear on this Monday's Raw.
Styles, who started his career in 1999, had an incredible run across NWA WIldside, WCW, TNA, Australia's World Wrestling All-Stars, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ring of Honor, WWE and tons of independent promotions. Styles helped put TNA's X-Division Championship on the map, is a former NWA Champion, A two-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion, held the TNA title twice, held the WWE Intercontinental Champion, is a three-time WWE United States Champion and was WWE Champion on two occasions. He also held a number of Tag Team Championships in Ring of Honor, TNA and WWE.
Styles had recently wrestled former foes Shinsuke Nakamura and CM Punk for the first time in years while building to today's retirement stipulation bout against GUNTHER.
Whether Styles wrestles again outside of WWE remains to be seen, but he recently trademarked his ring name and logo for future business purposes. Obviously, AEW would bend over backwards to have him when he is contractually free.
