AEW Collision was recorded after Dynamite at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, FL. The commentary team is Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, and Paul Wight.
Katsuyori Shibata vs. Hangman Adam Page
They start by throwing hands, and Shibata leaves the ring to regroup, but can’t, as Page follows him and drives him into the barricade and the announce desk. Shibata is rolled into the ring, but he gives Page a big boot when Page gets onto the apron, and Shibata beats down Page on the floor. Page dodges a big boot from Shibata, who gets hung up on the apron, and Page beats down Shibata on top of the timekeeper’s table and then into the crowd.
They fight back to the ringside area with Page in control. Shibata is rolled into the ring and Page follows. Page hits a fallaway slam. Page runs into a big boot in the corner. They fight through the ropes, and Shibata gets another big boot and then a suplex on the apron. Shibata hits a shin breaker and then rolls Page into the ring. Shibata goes to work on Page’s leg. Shibata gets a figure four, Page reverses it, and Shibata reverses it back until Page gets to the ropes, and we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Shibata lays in kicks to Page’s chest, and Page grabs his leg. Page gets to his feet, and then they throw chops at each other. Shibata goes to the eyes. They each get running attacks in the corners back and forth until they trade German suplexes and then knock each other down with elbow strikes.
They start to throw hands on their knees and work to their feet. Page is shoved toward the ref, and when the ref covers up, Shibata gets a low blow. Page tries for a roll-up when Shibata tries for an arm bar. They fight to the apron, and Page finally gets a Deadeye on the apron, which I hear is the hardest part of the ring.
Page goes to the top and hits a moonsault from the top onto Shibata on the floor. Page rolls Shibata into the ring and goes for the Buckshot, but Shibata grabs him and gets a side headlock on the mat. Page gets to the ropes for a break. Shibata tries for a dropkick in the corner and pulls himself to the top and misses the first Buckshot Lariat out of the corner, but does not miss the second and follows with a Buckshot Lariat in from the apron for the pin and the win.
Winner: Hangman Adam Page
Ricochet and Don Callis are on the golf course, and Alex Marvez shows up to ask some questions. Don berates him, and Ricochet says they do this every Wednesday to relax. He puts over GOA, and Don talks about his Family’s matches on Dynamite.
Kris Statlander vs. Isla Dawn w/ Grizzled Young Veterans
They lock up, and Kris forces Dawn back into the corner, where Kris throws hands. Dawn gets a boot up when Kris charges. Kris follows by catapulting Dawn into the corner. They fight in the corner, and Dawn kicks Kris to the floor and then gets a PK from the apron onto Kris on the floor. Kris is rolled into the ring, and Dawn covers for two. Dawn lays in kicks and strikes. Dawn gets a suplex for two.
Kris is put on the top turnbuckle, and they fight on top. Dawn is knocked down, and Kris gets a missile dropkick and then a spinning driver for two. Kris then gets Staturday Night Fever for the pin and the win.
Winner: Kris Statlander
On the big screen, Thekla applauds her and says it’s so sad it’s her last victory as champion. Thekla spits on Kris’s T-shirt and tells her to live long and prosper while giving the Vulcan salute.
We then get a promo from Jack Perry about his match with Ricochet and says Ricochet took his friend, Luchasaurus. So, he will take Ricochet’s championship and everything he has, but it won’t be enough.
Billy and Austin Gunn vs. Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita
Don Callis joins commentary.
Kyle and Austin start the match. They lock up, Kyle backs Austin into the ropes, and they break clean. They lock up again, and Kyle drops Austin to the mat. They lock up a third time, and they move to arm bars. They run the ropes, and Austin trips Kyle, who goes to the ropes so that Austin can’t attack. Billy tags in, and Kyle calls for the Greco-Roman knuckle lock, and Billy gives him a crotch chop. Kyle gets a kick and an elbow and tries a shoulder tackle but knocks himself down as Billy doesn’t move.
Takeshita tags in, and they lock up, and Takeshita backs Billy into the corner. They break, and Takeshita slaps Billy. Billy fires back with a strike, and Takeshita fires back as well. They run the ropes, and Takeshita gets a Sling Blade. Billy goes to the floor, and Don throws an ineffective chop. Takeshita nails Billy from the back as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Billy goes for a Famouser on Kyle, who dodges it, but he gets it on the second try and covers for two. Austin gets a blind tag, and he and Billy hit 3:10 to Yuma for two, broken up by Takeshita. Takeshita knocks Billy out of the ring. Austin gets a swinging DDT, and then he and Kyle trade holds until Kyle gets a half-and-half suplex. Both Austin and Kyle slowly get to their feet, and Kyle is able to tag Takeshita.
Billy pulls Kyle out of the ring, and Austin gets an inside cradle for two. Takeshita gets a Blue Thunder Bomb for two, broken up by Billy. Billy is tossed to the floor, and Austin dodges Takeshita’s Power Drive Knee. Austin misses a charge in the corner, Kyle hits a running clothesline in the corner, and Takeshita gets the Raging Fire on Austin for the pin and the win.
Winners: Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita
Takeshita reluctantly shakes Don’s hand, and Kazuchika Okada shows up on the stage. Takeshita looks like he wants to attack.
Backstage, we see Ricochet and GOA, and he apologizes for attacking Luchasaurus. He then says that the match with Jack Perry will be in Las Vegas because Jack needs all the luck he can get. He says that Jack will be another loser in a city of losers.
We get a hype video for the Grizzled Young Veterans against Eddie Kingston and Ortiz.
Alec Price and Jordan Oliver vs. Mark Davis and Jake Doyle
Don Callis joins commentary.
Price and Oliver weren’t already in the ring, but they might as well have been. Davis and Doyle hit a series of power moves to show they are a threat to FTR’s tag team championship.
Winners: Davis and Doyle
After the match, Don has a message for FTR and says he has a vision of retiring FTR and Don Callis owning the tag team titles, and Davis and Doyle have made his dream come true. We then see FTR and Stokely in the back, and Stokely says Don is a liar, FTR are truth-tellers, and they will leave the ring with the titles.
We then get a video package from Darby Allin visiting Bam Margera and doing some skateboarding.
Willow Nightingale (TBS Champion) vs. Julia Hart
Hart gets a slap to start the match, and Willow slams her. They run the ropes, and Willow shoulder tackles her down. Hart tries for a roll-up, Willow misses a leg drop, and Hart gets a crucifix roll-up for two. Willow gets a suplex with a bridge for two. Willow gets a series of clotheslines in the corner, and Hart chops Willow’s throat. Hart then goes to the top and walks the ropes into a hurricanrana. Willow goes to the second turnbuckle for a shotgun dropkick. Skye Blue comes to the ring, and Harley Cameron grabs her, and they brawl to the back.
Hart is able to get a neckbreaker in the ropes and covers for two as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Hart gets a running clothesline in the corner and hits Soul Food. Willow is able to get a clothesline off the ropes, and both women are down. When they get to their feet, Willow gets a series of chops to drop Hart and then a clothesline in the corner. Willow goes to the top, and Hart kicks her off and to the floor.
Hart slams Willow’s head into the apron. Hart tries the rope walk on the barricade, but Willow picks her up for a stalling vertical suplex on the floor. Willow rolls Hart into the ring for a cannonball in the corner for two. Hart is able to get a Tarantula on Willow in the ropes. Willow hoists Hart, who fights out of it and hits a DDT for two. Hart locks on an octopus hold, and Willow backs her into the corner to escape.
Willow charges into the corner, and Hart stomps her down. Hart goes for a moonsault, but Willow gets her feet up and tries for a powerbomb, but Hart reverses it into a hurricanrana for two. Willow hits her powerbomb for the pin and the win.
Winner and still TBS Champion: Willow Nightingale
In the back, the Rascalz are eating munchies and have to figure out which two will fight The Crew. They try different methods. Myron Reed loses, so it will be Zachary Wentz and Dezmond Xavier vs. The Crew.
We see Alex Windsor talking to Jamie Hayter, and they are going to team up to go for gold.
Andrade El Idolo vs. Magnus
Magnus is from CMLL.
Andrade grabs an arm bar, and Magnus lays in a kick before Andrade fires back with an elbow strike and a chop. Andrade dodges a crossbody and slams Magnus. Andrade chokes Magnus against the middle rope with his leg. Andrade gets a hammer throw into the corner and follows with a big back body drop.
Andrade gets a big boot and then drops Magnus with a chop. Andrade hits a big kick. Magnus comes off the ropes with a kick and then a tijeras. Andrade goes to the floor, and when Magnus goes to dive, Andrade nails him. Andrade finally takes off his shirt and takes a selfie with a woman at ringside. He then shoves Magnus into the steel steps as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Andrade knocks Magnus off the rope and follows with the Three Amigos suplexes for one before pulling him up. Andrade teases going to the top and instead goes to take off Magnus’s mask. He stops because the knot is too tight. Andrade goes for a suplex, and Magnus gets a roll-up for two. Magnus gets a dropkick to the knee and then another kick to drop Andrade. Magnus clotheslines Andrade to the floor and then dives onto him.
Magnus gets a senton atómico from the top. Magnus charges at Andrade, and Andrade gets a drop toe hold and follows with double knees in the corner and pulls Magnus up at one. Andrade hits the DM for the pin and the win.
Winner: Andrade El Idolo
In the back after the match, Andrade says he wants the AEW World Title, and Swerve Strickland is in his way, so they will fight on Wednesday.
Claudio Castagnoli (CMLL World Champion) w/ Wheeler Yuta vs. Roderick Strong w/ Orange Cassidy
Jon Moxley joins commentary.
They all pose with Tony Khan in the ring with the CMLL title belt.
Justin Roberts gives them a big-time match introduction in the ring after the photo is taken.
Claudio attacks Roddy during his own introduction and leaves Roddy in the corner as he poses. The bell rings, and Roddy charges in with strikes. Claudio tosses him to the floor, and they brawl around the ring. Roddy is rolled into the ring, and Claudio batters Roddy in the corner, and Roddy calls for more. Claudio obliges him.
Claudio gets a side headlock takeover and holds on. Roddy works to his feet, shoots Claudio into the ropes, and dropkicks Claudio. Roddy gets in a series of strikes in the corner, and when Claudio drops to the floor, Roddy follows him. Claudio drops Roddy on the barricade and then rolls Roddy into the ring. Claudio starts working Roddy’s leg.
Claudio moves to a cover for one and then goes back to the leg. Claudio lays in blows in the corners. Roddy fires back, but Claudio cuts him off with a kick followed by a slam in the ropes. Claudio grabs a leg bar and then goes back to working over Roddy in the corner. Roddy chops his way free and then gets a backbreaker. Claudio goes to the floor, and Roddy tries a sliding attack, but Claudio dodges it and then drops Roddy’s leg on top of the barricade as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Claudio is still working the leg, and Roddy kicks his way free. Claudio lays in a kick of his own and then goes back to stomping the leg. Roddy gets a big boot up and then gets a ropes-backed kick, knocking Claudio to the floor. Roddy gets a kick through the ropes, a backdrop on the barricade, and then runs Claudio into the ring post. He rolls Claudio into the ring and then gets a clothesline on Claudio.
Roddy lays in blows and follows with a rising knee strike and then a slam for two. Claudio gets a chop block and then goes back to working the leg. Roddy escapes with upkicks, and Claudio ends it with a double foot stomp. Roddy reverses a powerbomb into a pin for two. Claudio hits an uppercut for two, but Roddy’s foot was on the rope.
Claudio gets an uppercut in the corner and then just batters Roddy. Roddy is on top, and Claudio joins him there, and Roddy escapes under Claudio and sweeps his legs. Roddy goes to the top again and gets a suplex from the top for two. Roddy tries for a Stronghold, and Claudio fights it. Roddy can’t quite get it as Claudio attacks the leg. Roddy finally gets the hold on, and Claudio gets to the ropes for the break.
Roddy goes for a DDT, and Claudio catches him for a knee breaker into a Giant Swing and then a single-leg crab. Roddy rolls through and kicks free, and Claudio falls to the floor. Claudio is able to grab Roddy’s leg and wraps it around the ring post. Claudio tries again, and Roddy pulls him into the ring post. Yuta wraps Roddy’s leg around the post. Cassidy drops Yuta, and Claudio drops Cassidy. Roddy gets a big knee when Claudio tries to charge into him, and Claudio falls to the floor.
Roddy rolls him into the ring and drops the knee pad. Claudio pulls the ref in the way, and Roddy avoids hitting the ref. Claudio spins Roddy by the injured leg and then hits the Neutralizer for the pin and the win.
