By Mike Johnson on 2026-01-22 20:10:00

Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing coverage of TNA Thursday Night Impact on AMC from The Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

We see an outside shot of the Coliseum before they go to highlights of the Genesis PPV from over the weekend.

Tom Hannifan and Mattt Rehwoldt at ringside, welcomed TNA President Carlos Silva.  He talked about how proud he was of everyone that they are on this great new platform.

Cedric Alexander vs. Moose with Alesha Edwards.

They locked up and Moose nailed a series of chops in the corner.  Moose went to work him over in the corner but Cedric slipped out, only to be caught with a big dropkick.  They battled to the apron, exchanging blows.  Alexander caught him with a slam on the apron.  Moose came back with a boot to the face and went for a powerbomb on the apron.  Alexander escaped and kicked Moose away, then nailed a tope to the outside.

Alexander was sent into the ring steps.  Moose attempted a suplex on the floor but Cedric blocked it and nailed several chops.  Cedric nailed the suplex on the floor.  Back in the ring, Moose absorbed several kicks to the back but kicked out of pinfall attempts.  Cedric caught him with a kick and a leaping DDT for a two count.  Moose psyched himself up as Cedric rained down strikes.  Moose nailed a pump kick and caught him with a charging elbow in the corner.  Moose nailed a big uranage and a back senton splash, but his bad back hurt.

Moose pulled Cedric off the ropes for a Go To Hell but Cedric pulled his shoulder up at the last second.    They battled back and forth with chops.  Cedric nailed a standing clothesline but Moose fired back.  Alexander caught him with a standing Spanish Fly for a two count.  Alexander went to the ropes but Moose caught him with a headbutt as he came off.   Moose went for a spear but Alexander nailed a sunset flip.  Moose went for a powerbomb but Alexander rolled through and hooked the leg for the pin.

Your winner, Cedric Alexander!

Good match and they went 17 minutes without a commercial break!

Moose and Cedric shook hands.  Moose raised his arm.

After a commercial, TNA Champion Mike Santana came out through the crowd and made his way to the ring.  He pulled a chair into the ring.  The crowd chanted for TNA.  He said he wanted to share with everyone the last message his father left for him before he passed away.  It was his father saying he "earned" his way there and deserved it.  The crowd chanted "You deserve it."  Santana said after he returned to TNA after rebuilding himself from injury, depression and addiction, he went to the first camera he could find and made a statement to the world.  He wasn't coming back to be another spoke in the wheel, he was coming for the top spot.  He said every day, he put action behind those words.  He gave every single thing that he had, because he deserved it, the sport deserved it and the fans all deserved it.  Everything isn't always perfect, but he always pulled himself back up.   When he lost at Slammiversary, he fought back.  When he won the title at Bound for Glory, only to lose it a month later, he fought back and last week, he won the title back.   He said now his back is against the wall but that's the way he likes it.  They said he would never be the guy, but now he's the guy.  He earned his way here, he deserves to be here but he belongs here.  A good mission statement promo that would make new viewers understand who he was and what he's done to get to where he is.

Gia Miller interviewed Order4.    Ali asked her to shut up.  He said he's facing Jeff Hardy in the main event.  He said the Hardys are just sheep but he will be their Shepard.   Tasha Steelz did a great job with facial expressions during his promo.

They recapped the Knockouts Tag Team Championship contendership bout on WWE NXT.

Indi Hartwell vs. TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion M By Elegance with The Elegance Brand.

They locked up and M tried to escape through the ropes but was grabbed by the leg and pulled back.  Ash distracted Indi, who made a quick rebound and scored a two count after an elbow.  Indi nailed several chops in the corner.    Indi went for a big boot but was caught in the ropes.  More distractions and interference.  M nailed a double knee strike for a two count as they went to commercial.  When they returned to broadcast, Indi used a forward roll and scored the pin.

Your winner, Indi Hartwell!

They all attacked Indi but Ash began arguing with them and asking them to stop.  She challenged them to fight.  Xia Brookside and Lei Ying Lee ran out to help but Ash turned and they all beat down the babyfaces.

The Injury Report: Elijah is now cleared.  Kazarian is out after the Texas Death Match.  The Hardys are cleared for action.

Backstage, The Elegance Brand was all excited about their plan working.  They welcomed her back, so I guess she is cleared for action.  They praised her as being part of a big comeback club alongside Muhammad Ali and Tiger Woods and they need to throw a big comeback party.

Feast or Fired: AJ Francis vs. Home Town Man vs. Rich Swann vs, Mance Warner vs. Eric Young vs. Jason Hotch vs. John Skyler vs. Eddie Edwards vs. Brian Myers vs. Steve Maclin vs. Trey Miguel

The briefcases have a pink slip, a TNA title contract, a TNA International Title Contract or an X-Division Contract.

Trey Miguel, who exited the company at the end of 2025 for AEW, is already back.  Tom Hannifan stated Miguel has re-signed with the company.

Everyone battled.    Miguel tried to get to a briefcase but was nailed by Young.  The same with Swann.  Young ended up surrounded by a quartet of talents and laid out.  They showed International Champion Stacks and Arianna Grace watching from backstage with Daria Rae.  They built to Miguel doing a big springboard dive on everyone.   Young grabbed one of the cases.  The Great Hands went to work together to grab a case, but Maclin slipped under and powerbombed Skyler, then took out Hotch with the Crosshairs.  Maclin grabbed a case and exited.

Steph de Lander tripped up Eddie Edwards and tossed him into the ring.  Mance Warner grabbed a chair and drilled Edwards across the back.  Mance tried to slam Edwards through several chairs but Edwards blocked it and hit a Blue Thunder Bomb onto the edge of the chairs.  it looked harsh.  Francis slammed Swann on the outside apron of the ring.  Nemeth was hit with a German suplex by Miguel, who grabbed the next briefcase.

Everyone battled to get to the last case.  Myers took out everyone with a dive, allowing Edwards to grab the final case.  He tossed the case at Francis down in the ring.  Francis caught it but Edwards then dropkicked the case.  Francis went down, Edwards retrieved the case and went to the floor.  Edwards is the last caseholder.

They announced they will open the cases next week.

Backstage Santana was watching the monitor.  Nic Nemeth approached him and said he was thinking with his heart, not with his head and emotional champs meet someone like him.  He asked Santana how he would ever face his daughter...and Santana had enough, grabbing Nemeth by the throat.  They scuffled before being pulled apart.

BDE was playing games in the back when Nic Nemeth, upset by the fight, complained about the marks in the locker room not taking "real life" seriously.  BDE challenged him to face off next week.  Nemeth agreed.

Elayna Black came out on stage and cut a promo, putting herself over.  She claimed she hit one million on TNA's social media last week.  She said whoever is stupid enough to step in the ring with her with find out she's the next one in line for the Knockouts title.  We are all living in the era of Elayna.

Backstage, Santino Marella was talking to Daria Rae.  Arianna Grace asked for a moment with her father.  She apologized to him for hurting him, physically and emotionally.  She said she didn't mean any of those things.  She thought she was hurt and the job wasn't easy.  She knows in her heart what he did for their family.  Stacks thought Marella should have done more for her but she didn't want to blame him.  She asked her father to forgive him.  He finally hugged her and she cried, saying she was sorry.

Jeff Hardy with Matt Hardy vs. Mustafa Ali with Order4.

Ali shoved Jeff, who shoved him down hard.  The crowd was super into Jeff.  He took Ali down and rode him on the mat.  They battled back and forth.  Aii ducked to the floor to avoid a right hand.  He returned and Ali faceplanted.  Ali went to the floor to curtall Hardy's momentum.  Ali fired back and kicked away at Jeff in the corner.  Hardy was whipped into the corner but came bouncing out with a clothesline that sent Ali inside out.  Hardy was sent to the floor.  Matt went to check on him, but got into it with The Great Hands.  Tasha distracted Matt, allowing Agent Zero to nail Matt as they went to commercial.

When they returned, they battled on the apron above ring steps that had been placed on their side.  Hardy nailed a Twist of Fate off the apron onto them.  The crowd chanted, "Holy sh**."  They were almost counted out but made their way back before the ten count.  They battled back and forth in the ring.  Hardy nailed a series of rights and hit the Cruncher legdrop.  He nailed an elbow for a two count,  Jeff went for Twist of Fate but was shoved into the buckles and nailed with a dropkick.  Hardy avoided an Ali charge and Ali smashed into the buckles.  Tasha got involved but ended up on Ali's back.  Jeff hit a double Twist of Fate on them for a two count.

Ali was snapped into the ropes.  Ali grabbed one of the TNA Tag Team title belts but Matt Hardy pulled it away.  He smashed The Great Hands with it and sent Agent Zero into the ring post.  Ali went for a neckbreaker but Jeff hit a Twist of Fate and a swanton but Ali nailed him.  Ali nailed a 450 splash but Hardy kicked out.  Eiijah strummed his guitar and walked out on stage.  Ali, distracted, was hit with The Twist of Fate.  Hardy hit the swanton and scored the pin.

Your winner Jeff Hardy!

Backstage, The Righteous were watching.  Everyone still points to the Hardys as greatness.  They teased they were coming.  The Hardys' music made it a little hard to hear.

The System were walking in the back.  JDC will reveal his replacement.  They came to the ring.  JDC thanked everyone for the sendoff he received at Genesis.  He thanked the fans but tonight isn't about him.  He has handpicked his replacement.  He said he has a lot of respect for them, as do the fans.  He said they are the future of The System and pro wrestling as a business - Bear Bronson.

The announcers noted Brian Myers trained Bear.  He entered the ring and embraced The System.   JDC hugged Edwards, who then lowblowed him.  Myers and Bronson ated Moose.   Cedric Alexander hit the rring with a chair to stop it, but then attacked Moose with a chair.  The beatings continued.  Edwards said they aren't just replacing JDC, they are replacing Moose too.  Alisha acted like she didn't know what they were doing.  The crowd chanted, "F*** the System."  Alisha tried to protect JDC and Moose as the others stood over her as they went off the air.

Production-wise, a MUCH improved show from last week.
