A new non-fiction book on professional wrestling was released this week. Rough House: A Father, a Son, and the Pursuit of Pro Wrestling Glory by Alison Lyn Miller. Promotional material notes:
"Professional wrestling is both a cultural phenomenon and a multibillion-dollar industry that has launched some of the biggest names in entertainment. But what does it take for a wrestler to break through? In Rough House, journalist Alison Lyn Miller introduces Hunter James, an aspiring star born into a family of wrestlers in Georgia. Hunter lifts, runs, and pounds protein, sculpting himself into a human action figure with the goal of being signed by a major promotion and finishing what his father started. Miller’s immersive, unforgettable account shows us what happens when Hunter enters the bruising world of indie wrestling—where gymnasiums become arenas, trampolines serve as training grounds, and young men fight for glory. Rich with drama, humor, and heart, Rough House is a ringside seat to a coming-of-age story that reveals the escapism, self-actualization, performance, and violence inherent in one of America’s most dismissed pastimes. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or new to the spectacle, this true story will leave you cheering for more."
Paxton Media Group featured a piece on independent promotion Local Pro Wrestling.

Re-Living The Randy Savage & Jerry Lawler vs. Rick Rude & King Kong Bundy Rivalry: "The Territories: Memphis" DVD/VOD Preview!
Randy Savage and Jerry Lawler were great rivals for a long time in Memphis, but Jimmy Hart and his "First Family" had a way of making strange allies join forces to fight his strength-in-numbers.
This particular rivalry is well-represented in our new 8-hour DVD/VOD/Stream release "The Territories: Memphis"!
“The Territories” is a special multi-volume series that takes you across the entire wrestling world during the era of the most tickets sold, active full-time promotions, and events in big arenas in the sport’s history. In each installment, we’ll show you the greatest and most high-quality surviving footage of what made the area so successful, unique, and talked about to this day!
Today, the office is sending you to… MEMPHIS!
Known for its wild mayhem, over-the-top stipulations, and colorful personalities, some purists of the time decried Memphis as just going too far, but in many ways it was well ahead of its time. What Jerry Jarrett and Jerry Lawler built in the WMC-TV studios every Saturday morning and Mid-South Coliseum each Monday night served as a crystal ball to where wrestling was headed – violence & bloodshed in their most personal rivalries, personality profiles and music videos to establish talent, and dozens of future global megastars passing through their doors. It’s no wonder why Memphis defied the odds and out-lasted every other territory of its era. From the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, these are the most unforgettable matches & moments from Memphis’ golden era!
