RICH SWANN VS. BRYAN IDOL, TITLE CHANGES AND MORE: 1/20 NWA POWERRR TV REPORT

NWA POWERRR RECAP FOR 1/20/26

NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title Match: Alex Taylor (c) vs. Slade w/Aron Stevens

The match begins with Slade scoring a takedown on Taylor, Taylor gets up and Slade gets him right back to the ground. Taylor leaves the ring and he accuses Slade of cheating, Taylor gets back in the ring and he slaps Slade in the face. Slade gets Taylor down again and he nearly gets him in an ankle lock, Taylor leaves the ring again and he goes underneath the ring. Slade goes hunting for Taylor and Taylor nails him with a through the ropes drop kick as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Taylor nailing a downed Slade with strikes. Taylor drops Slade with a snap mare before landing a rolling snap mare, Slade fights back and Taylor nails him with axe handle smashes. Taylor keeps Slade grounded while applying a trailer hitch to him. The referee catches Taylor cheating and he breaks the submission up, Slade fights back again and Taylor quickly drops him.

Taylor drops Slade with a slam before going to the top rope, Slade meets him up there and he nails Taylor with a superplex. Taylor and Slade have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Slade ends the exchange by hitting Taylor with an exploder suplex followed by some German suplexes. Slade then drops Taylor with an overhead release suplex, Slade gets Taylor in the ankle lock and Taylor gets free before sending him into the ring post. Taylor uses a clothesline to knock Slade to the arena floor, Slade gets back in the ring and he avoids a boot shot from Taylor. Taylor then nails Slade with a low blow followed by a roll up for a near fall, Taylor removes the protective headgear Slade wears and he puts it on his own head. Taylor goes for the Green Whistle and Slade counters with an ankle lock, Taylor gets free and Slade reapplies the hold and Taylor taps out.

Winner: Slade w/Aron Stevens, your new NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion

After the match, Mondo hits the ring to celebrate with Slade and Aron Stevens.

- Bryan Idol talks about his history in the NWA and he says he will defeat Rich Swann in tonight’s main event.

- The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows) are backstage and they talk about changing the tag team landscape in the NWA.

Vacant NWA World Women’s World Tag Team Title: The Hex (Allysin Kay & Marti Belle) vs. TVMA (Tiffany Nieves & Valentina Rossi) w/Gretta & Miss Starr

The match begins with a brawl between both teams in the middle of the ring, Kay sends Rossi out of the ring while Belle works over Nieves in the corner. Kay tags in and she works with Belle to double team Nieves for a near fall, Kay tosses Nieves back in the corner before landing some chops. Belle tags back in and she again double teams Nieves alongside Kay for another near fall, Rossi interferes and she trips up Belle so Nieves can attack her from behind. Rossi tags in and she works with Nieves to hit Belle with an assisted side Russian leg sweep, Rossi corners Belle while stomping away on her. Rossi lands a stomp on the back of Belle for a near fall, Belle fights back and she nails Nieves with a jaw breaker after Nieves tags in. Nieves holds Bella down while landing strikes and then applying an arm scissor to her, Belle gets free and Nieves transitions to a chin lock on her.

Belle fights back again and Nieves nails her with a sidewalk slam for a near fall, Rossi tags in and she works with Nieves to double team belle. Rossi holds Nieves down while applying a chin lock to her, Belle gets free and she finally makes the tag to Kay. Kay quickly cleans house against the opposing team, Kay then nails an interfering Nieves with a choke slam. Kay then hits Rossi with a uranage for a near fall, Kay argues with the ref and Rossi rolls her up for a near fall. Nieves tags in and she is immediately hit with Hex Marks The Spot by The Hex for a near fall as Miss Starr interferes, Kay goes after Starr and Nieves rolls her up for a three count.

Winners: TVMA (Tiffany Nieves & Valentina Rossi) w/Gretta & Miss Starr, your new NWA World Women’s Tag Team Champions

After the match, a brawl breaks out between The Hex and TVMA, Gretta hits the ring and she nails both of The Hex with choke slams.

- The Immortals are backstage and they talk about their upcoming title defense against Blunt Force Trauma.

- Colby Corino makes his way out to the ring wearing a neck brace due to a recent injury, Corino says he is happy to be back in front of the fans. Corino says he has a long recovery ahead of him, Kerry Morton interrupts and he makes his way into the ring. Morton gets on the microphone and he starts mocking the injured Corino, Morton says his family is better than Corino’s family and the fans do not like Corino. Corino kicks Morton in the balls before removing the neck brace, Corino says he doesn’t need to be medically cleared to beat Morton up.

- Aron Stevens is backstage with members of his faction and they talk about all the success they have been having under Steven’s leadership.

NWA World Television Championship: Bryan Idol (c) vs. Rich Swann

The match begins with Idol backing Swann into the corner and Swann lands some chops on him, Idol catches Swann in a roll up for a near fall. Idol drops Swann with a shoulder tackle, Swann recovers and he drops Idol with a headscissors takedown. Swann traps Idol in the corner while landing strikes, Idol recovers and he sends Swann into the corner before landing a back elbow strike. Idol follows up with a butterfly suplex against Swann before landing a knee strike, Idol looks for a suplex and Swann tries countering before eating a ushigoroshi for a near fall. Swann leaves the ring and he avoids a drop kick from Idol, Idol then sends Swann face first into the arena floor. Idol gets Swann back into the ring for a near fall on a pin attempt, Idol keeps Swann grounded while applying a camel clutch to him. Swann gets free and he nails Idol with multiple boots to the face, Swann and Idol both go down after a double clothesline and we go to a commercial break.

We return from the break to see a striking exchange in the middle of the ring between Swann and Idol, Swann eventually ends the exchange by nailing Idol with a head kick. Swann then hits a downed Swann with a standing frog splash for a near fall, Swann stands Idol up while landing more strikes. Idol recovers and he hits Swann with a tombstone piledriver for a near fall, Idol barely lands a double jump moonsault on Swann for a near fall. Idol places Swann on the top turnbuckle and he follows him up there, Idol looks for a superplex and Swann knocks him off to the mat below. Swann then hits Idol with a frog splash for a near fall, Swann then misses a 450 splash and Idol hits him with the Killswitch for a three count.

Winner: Bryan Idol, still the NWA World TV Champion
