HHH booked Karrion Kross brilliantly in NXT. Why was Kross pushed so much inconsistently on the main roster? Also, Kross asking for the data/logic behind WWE’s presumably lowball contract offer seems reasonable to me. Why did HHH fall out of love with Kross and let him walk when he was finally getting over on Raw?
At first, it’s because Vince McMahon was still in charge and he had no idea what to do with Kross. He didn’t even send Scarlett out with him, which was next level stupid as she was a big part of their act. Once HHH took control I thought he would get something out of Kross. He tried, but he just lost his way with how to book the guy. Sadly, Kross isn’t alone there.
As a fan since Hulkamania originally ran wild, I don’t think today’s fans appreciate how good they have it. Sure, us mega fans are disappointed when our favorites aren’t pushed or creative is lackluster. However, in the 80’s, we endured many basic matches with simple stories and non-finishes. Do you think today’s fans don’t appreciate having at least 1 (if not more) PPV level match on every show, the evolution of more layered matches, and fairly intricate storylines of today’s product?
They only know what they know. We can’t expect them to have a frame of reference from things that they never saw in the past. You are right, for sure. The quality is much better today but if they never sat through 80s and most of the 90s TV, they don’t know how it used to be.
I don't watch AEW, and I've been critical of the violence and perceived violence (plastic bag suffocation, syringes in the mouth). I've sent you emails in the past expressing this. This popped up on my Facebook as a 'Suggested' post tonight from AEW's official Facebook page:
AEW is promoting this on social media like wrestling fans should be accepting of it. It is the complete opposite of what professional wrestling is. What happened to protecting your opponent? You can't safely take that bump or rehearse it. And like always, it targets the spine like the nail board stunt with Moxley. The same move that almost ended Big E's career, but on angled steel ring steps. And for the fans that like it... why? Why would they want to watch someone get hurt in a worked match? Seriously, this shit just keeps getting closer to somebody either getting paralyzed or killed. Sorry for the rant - it really pissed me off seeing that tonight on Facebook.
Darby Allin is next level stupid for taking that bump. Tony Khan is ridiculously irresponsible for allowing it to happen. That is a perfect example of why I am not an AEW fan. I don’t like watching people legitimately hurt themselves on purpose. But, some people do, including Tony Khan.
I just finished Raw on January 12. Why is that NO ONE has declared for The Royal Rumble and no one is even talking about it?
Usually by that Raw, they are already hyping The Rumble but this year? Crickets. Clearly they wanted to do the angle with Cody Rhodes declaring first, but being the first one to do so two weeks before the PLE is being late to the party in my view.
