Welcome to PWInsider.com's live, ongoing TNA Thursday Night Impact on AMC coverage from Dallas, Texas!
This is easily the biggest night and the biggest chance for the promotion in forever and in true TNA fashion, they've had some curveballs tossed at them thanks to forces outside of their control, so let's see how they forge this new future tonight, shall we?
The show opened with a video package promoting the company and previewing that this where "Sacrifice meets Revelations."
Tom Hannifan and Matt Rehwoldt welcomed us to the show.
Fans were flipping TNA rally towels in the crowd.
AJ Styles' logo appeared. The crowd began chanting for him. He came out to his old TNA theme song. Hannifan described him as the first face of TNA who was inspired countless others.
The AMC logo was on the mats outside the ring and the barricades.
Styles said he was going to keep it short and sweet and "we got some wrestling to do." He welcomed everyone to the house that AJ Styles built, but said it is bigger, badder and bolder than ever - and is now on AMC. The fans chanted for AMC. Hey, that never happened on The Walking Dead! Styles asked the fans live to keep that energy and said they are the TNA Nation. He led a TNA chant. The crowd was SUPER HOT for this.
They went into the official opening for the series.
TNA Tag Team Champions The Hardys & Elijah vs. Mustafa Ali & The Great Hands.
Justin Lyons played the Hardys theme live. They plugged social media creators, including their own BDE, were streaming live at the show. They all started brawling. Order 4 worked over Elijah but The Great Hands were sent into the corner where Ali was preparing to jump off off. Elijah nailed a superplex. The Hardys tossed The Great Hands to the floor as they went to commercial. When they returned, they battled back and forth. The Hardys work over John Skyler, nailing a Matt Hardy Twist of Fate followed by a Jeff Hardy Swanton for the pin.
Your winners, The Hardys & Elijah!
Agent Zero attacked the Hardys. The Righteous hit the ring with the idea that they were rescuing the Champs but then attacked them. Vincent locked a padlock through Jeff's earlobe, trapping him in the corner as they worked over Matt. Vincent promised they would become the new Tag Team Champions at Genesis.
Gia Miller interviewed TNA Champion Frankie Kazarian. He was about to start talking when AJ Styles walked in. Kazarian asked if he was supposed to shake his hand or kiss him. He said if he has anything to say to Frankie, it should be "Thank you for the house." Styles sarcastically said thank you and walked off.
Hey, there's a Star Wars marathon on AMC Friday!
They aired a video package on the X-Division's history and its importance in the company.
They showed boxer Vergil Ortiz Jr. as well as Eric Young and AJ Francis in the crowd. They showed stars from AMC's Dark Wind, as well as Candice Michelle and Mara Sade. Ryan Nemeth interjected himself and you know where this is going and soon enough, he was clobbered by the actors and ended up crotched on the guard rail.
They showed the angle where Arianna Grace turned on her father, Santino Marella. Marella seemed much happier than he was on last week's show. He reviewed what happened and said he's been sad and confused. He said they are now on "Am C" and the TNA Board has decided with everything, he can use an assistant. He was relieved when he found out who it was, and it was the former Sonya Deville, billed as Daria Rae. This makes sense as she does commentary for Anthem's MMA company InvictaFC. She cut a promo and put over Marella. She then turned on Santino and said the company doesn't need him. It needs structure and discipline, not his silliness. Santino tried to argue back but she told him to shut up, as she's talking. She said she's run locker rooms and deals with TV. She can do his job better than Santino, so he should stay out of her way. She's the suit.
Daria announced she has signed a new Knockout and out came Elayna Black, the former Cora Jade.
AJ Styles found Mike Santana backstage and said he needed to do what he did best tonight, win. Santana thanked him and hugged him.
TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions The IInspiration vs. The Elegance Brand.
Perez Hilton was with the Elegance Brand. Hilton knocked the crowd. They introduced "Mr. Elegance." It was Andreas Ziegler aka "The Hunter” AJZ from Ohio Valley Wrestling. He cut an entertaingly annoying promo but The IInspiration came out and the match began...only to then go to commercial.
They aired a long commercial for the CM Punk horror film Night Patrol. It's being distributed by Shudder, which AMC owns.
When they returned, they showed Sol Ruca and Zaria watching from backstage.
Jessie McKay cleaned house on Team Elegance. She went for the pin but the Personal Concierge pulled her out of the ring. The IInspiration confronted him but Cassie was nailed and Jesse was worked over. Cassie knocked Heather from the top but Mr. Elegance saved her. The IInspiration had the pin but Elegance distraxred the referee. They slapped him. The IInspiration worked over Heather. Concierge got involved and was kneed in the face. They went for the Idolizer but Mr. Elegance nailed one of them from behind and The Elegance Brand scored the pin.
Your winner and new Knockouts Tag Team Champions, The Elegance Brand!
Backstage, Arianna Grace and Stacks said TNA management has hired someone to handle Santino's job. Stacks can handle anything Santino throws his way.
They aired the Injury Report. Harley Hudson and Myla Grace are out of action. Lei Ying Lee and Xia Brookside are cleared. Steve Maclin is out. Mike Santana is still dealing with a right arm injury.
Indi Hartwell says she's been in limbo. She's here to fulfill her childhood dream...and The Elegance Brand showed up and mocked her. Hartwell said she was going to talk to Santino.
They aired a video package on The Knockouts division.
Santino Marella introduced Knockouts Champion Lei Ying Lee. Lee has signed a contract for an Open Challenge at Genesis (Dani Luna is unable to enter the country) and out came NXT's Zaria with Sol Ruca. Ruca said they were here to scout the Knockouts Tag Team Championship but when she heard about the Open Challenge, she couldn't resist. Lee is a warrior, but they have a warrior of their own and said Zaria should take the Open Challenge. The crowd chanted for Zaria. Zaria signed the contract. The pop for Ruca and Zaria was almost as big as The Hardys. I thought Santino had been replaced?
They showed Mike Santana and Kazarian walking in the back.
Santino Marella informed Cedric Alexander that they had a problem with visas and Leon Slater won't be at Genesis. It will instead be Moose vs. Joe Hendry vs. Cedric at the PPV and Cedric will get his X-Division Championship match down the line.
The System came out to cut a promo on stage. JDC said he's proud to end his career with TNA. He said next week, he'll be in the ring retired to announce the newest member of The System. He said that he loves Eddie Edwards as a brother and has nothing but respect for him as a man and a wrestler but he's not going out like a punk. Eddie either pulls the trigger, or JDC will on Saturday.
TNA President Carlos Silva came out and brought out DIXIE CARTER. She was booed by a big portion of the live crowd. She asked how many have been watching all these years. She thanked the fans and said it was a sentimental night for her and thanked everyone...and out came Bully Ray. He shook Carlo's hand and faced off with Dixie, who he legitimately hurt when putting her through a table. She looked nervous and then hugged him.
Bully joined the commentators. Mike Santana entered from the crowd.
TNA Champion Kazarian vs. Mike Santana
They faced off at the bell. The crowd chanted for TNA. Some good back and forth action early. Santana nailed a running back elbow. Santana hit a dive to the outside. They battled on the floor. Kazarian hit a belly to belly suplex on the floor. When they returned from commercial, Kazarian was working over Santana and scored several near falls. Santana started absorbing blows and made a comeback. Santana nailed an enziguri and a superkick. He hit a stunner for a two count. Santana placed him atop the ropes. They battled on the top. Santana nailed a top rope Spanish Fly, then a Code Red for a close two count.
Santana nailed a cannonball but Kazarian pulled his knees up. He nailed Angel's Wings for a two count. Kazarian locked in a chicken wing but Santrana shoved off the ropes. Kazarian missed a slingshot legdrop. He cut off Santana and nailed a springboard legdrop for a two count. Kazarian grabbed the TNA title belt but the referee took it away. Santana went for Spin the Block but it was blocked. They battled back and forth. Kazarian dropkicked Santana and took out the referee. Santana hit Spin the Block but there was no referee to make the count. He went to rouse the referee but Kazarian drilled him wth the belt.
Kazarian nailed Fade to Black on the apron. He covered Santana for a two count. Santana hit a Canadian Destroyer and Spin the Block for a two count. They battled until Santana scored the pin with Spin the Block.
Your winner and new TNA Champion Mike Santana!
Carlos Silva celebrated in the ring.
They went off the air with credits, like the end of WWE, listing Carlos Silva, George Veras, Hunter Johnston, Tommy Dreamer, Eric Tompkins, Kenny Smith, and Mark Brown.
No Nic Nemeth cash in after it was all but said that would happen.
