LITTLE GUIDO, KJ ORSO, MANI ARIEZ & MORE: 1/10 FOCUS PRO WRESTLING LIVE REPORT FROM BRAINTREE, MA

By Adam Cardoza on 2026-01-12 00:17:00

Focus Pro Wrestling “Basket Case” - 1/10/25 Braintree, MA

Dark Match: Isana vs Riley O’Neil

Isana is like twice Riley’s size and she beats him up for most of the match. This is a solid David/Goliath match until Riley’s comeback (complete with a female slur and a forced motorboat), where he hits a discus clothesline for the three.

Mike Graca (w/ Katy Prescott) vs Myles Hawkins

Graca is very much the sentimental fave here at Focus. Hawkins gets under his opponent’s by whipping Katy’s rear with his ring gear. Graca gets mad and Hawkins takes advantage for a while. Good near fall with a razor’s edge off the second. Graca with the comeback and hits a tombstone for two that the crowd vehemently disagrees with. Hawkins empties the clip with a dominator tombstone and superkick. He CANNOT get it done. He second guessed a top rope move with these low ceilings and Graca catches him and hits a hangman’s tombstone for the three. I wasn’t a fan of that opening moment but the bell to bell work here was very good.

Post Game (Mike Walker & Vinnie Talotta w/ Hellfire McGuire)(c) vs Fire in the Sky (Flyin Ryan O’Neill & Junie Underwood) (for the Focus Pro Tag Team Championships)

Braintree has their faves and Post Game are NOT it. Flyin Ryan looks like a million bucks early but Underwood gets double teamed to death for much of this. Post Game has been holding onto these belts by every means unnecessary. O’Neill finally tagged in and runs through the champ, almost securing a pin solo. Post Game trying to double teamed but underwood ain’t letting it happen again. Hellfire with a cheap shot almost gets Junie rolled up. He kicks out but falls victim to a spike sitout double bomb that ends the contest. Very good finishing sequence that could have come a LITTLE sooner.

Little Guido vs Brian Bayside (Extreme Rules)

This is not going to be a workrate classic. Bayside wants Guido to rub his belly. Guido does not want to rub that belly. He wants a pizza. He gives it to bayside as a gift and then pummels him with it. And also hits him with some beer. Bayside rallies back, hits a splash for two and finally trips Guido into a facebuster for the win.

Kaia McKenna(c) vs Nixi XS (for the Focus Pro Women’s Championship)

The champ uses her witch powers to make the lights flicker. Nixi doesn’t like this. Despite a strong start, Nixi takes over the beating and taunts the crowd as she lays into McKenna. Kaia flickers the lights some more to signal the comeback. Finishing sequence puts the character stuff to bed as Kaia puts her challenger away with a saito for what appears to be a surprise three.

Bam Sullivan vs JB Anderson (Relaxed Rules)

This was supposed to be SLADE but he’s sick, I hear. Bam is a cool replacement. He decides this is gonna be a straight up wrestling match. No one likes that. VSK tries to keep it civil but JB clubs him with a trash lid repeatedly. It spills into the crowd, I lose sight but I hear several chairs hitting something or someone. Bam starts unloading shots with a kendo stick and breaks the damn thing. JB is split open. Bam with lid shots to the dome and Anderson just eats them. Trash can lid duel drops them both. They gusset each other in stereo. I’m glad to not be close up. JB pulls shards of the kendo stick out to stab on Bam. Yikes. Sullivan eats an Impaler but kicks out! I have an intake of breath as what I think is a box of light tubes comes out. I don’t f*** with light tubes. Thankfully it’s carpet strips. Lol. They cover a table in these awful things. Bam avoids the end several times but then he gets stabbed in the head and tossed through the table and an air raid crash into the strips ends the deathmatch. Wild.

Akira vs Diego Alvarez

Diego got his face burned last month and he says Akira should just lay down for him tonight. That doesn’t happen. Also Diego has a paper belt with his own face on it for some reason. Akira rips Diego’s protective mask off and everyone calls him ugly. Akira running strong until Diego hotshots him on the top rope. Alvarez makes a critical error deciding to go shot for shot with the death samurai. Akira with a horrible slip off a slingshot and Diego tries to capitalize with a figure four. Akira escapes and these guys start going back and forth with all the big moves and false finishes. We finally get a brief ref bump and Diego goes low and rolls up Akira for the three.

Kidd V vs Danny Miles vs Steven Beck vs Leroy Robinson

I’m not sure who Danny annoyed but he’s in a 4-way against 3 lesser known talents, despite being the former Focus Pro Champ. That said, the crowd would like anyone BUT miles to take this it would seem. A brief alliance between Beck and Miles breaks down several times, allowing V and Robinson to take shots at pulling out the W. Danny walks away with it after letting Beck take a finish from Kidd V…and then he snatches V into a rear naked choke for the tap out.

Izzy Moreno vs Shannon LaVangie

This is a big babyface match. Shannon is literally from a few streets over and Izzy is everyone’s BFF. I still find it weird to have this in the second half instead of their women’s champion. Maybe Kaia is feeling that too because she’s out here with her belt, watching on from the bar. The match itself is a decent, hard hitting affair. Shannon & Izzy are putting on the workrate match of the night. The finish goes fast back and forth until Shannon misses a sparkle splash, Izzy hits a backstabber and gets the tap on a cross armbreaker. They hug.

Mani Ariez(c) vs KJ Orso (for the Focus Pro Championship)

The former Fuego Del Sol is here in Braintree! KJ doesn’t wanna hear about it. He’s KJ Orso and NO ONE ELSE and the crowd shouldn’t deadname him. Also the Chargers are gonna beat the Pats. So…F*** Orso. Big ol’ heel. Mani making him regret showing up with a long form beatdown that falls into the crowd. Orso gets the swing back in his direction, as the crowd chants for his “tighty whiteys”. Orso doing a good job of being a charismatic heel but also smartly picking Mani apart. Mani rallies back but the damage done is making it hard for him to pick Orso up. Mani hits a sitout bomb for two… but his music is playing? It stops. Match continues. They fight onto the bar…KJ gives Mani a piledriver into the wood! He wants to finish this in the ring but Mani fires up and a gutwrench TKO followed by a running destroyer gets the three and gives Mani the W in a successful title defense!
