Beyond Wrestling “Heavy Lies the Crown”
12/31/25 Worcester, MA
The New Year’s tradition continues!
Spotlight Match: Pedro Dones vs RJ Rude
Dones has a gentleman’s agreement for Rude. Whoever loses has to sing the song of the winners choice. Delightful. RJ tries to cheat his way to victory but Pedro gets the three on a sunset flip bomb. As for the song, Dones joins RJ for a duet of “Pink Pony Club” - Is this a turn? No, he refuses Pedro’s handshake and storms off. Awesome.
Match 1: Ichiban vs Oxx Adams
DC loves putting Ichiban in these David vs Goliath scenarios. Lucky for Number One, he’s getting used to these fights and knows to press the offense and keep pressing. But Oxx is big and finally catches his smaller opponent and unleashes hell. It’s a long beating but Ichiban finally avoids a Vader bomb…he gets rolling, Oxx trying to catch and power Ichiban away but the Ichi Bankai connects! He tries to put a cherry on top but Oxx catches him one last time, tosses Ichi up and catches him with a Samoan drop for the three! Good match, huge win for Adams (who we hate).
Match 2: Matt Mako vs Bobby Casale
This could be very good. The Stetson Ranch comes out for their latest ranchhand’s entrance but they leave him to his own devices. The match? A clash of MMA style strikers going hard. Bobby shows a ton of strength as he starts to win the exchanges. Mako fires back with kicks that rock the rookie. Mako almost cinches in the cross armbreaker. Bobby hits a gutwrench facebuster. Hard strikes back and forth and Mako finally Germans Casale back and rolls into the cross armbreaker for the tap out! Fantastic match.
The other three members of the Ranch hit the ring to beat on Mako. That brings down their opponents for the next match to stop this.
Match 3: Stetson Ranch (Steven Stetson, Danny Miles & Brian Morris w/ Bobby Casale) vs Bombs Over Beyond (Jake Gray & Erik Chacha & Rickey Shane Page)
RSP has his own Wrench & Resolve jumpsuit! He proves very much the equalizer they’ve needed to deal with the Ranch’s BS….until Jake gets trapped in the corner and triple teamed. Jake finally escape. GREAT spot where RSP wears Jake and Chacha like two halves of a ladder and goes Terry Funk spinning. Big dive party to the floor! Unfortunately, the ranch is the ranch and Chacha is left alone to be put down for the three!
Match 4: DJ Powers vs Tyree Taylor
This match is mostly for a crowd that wants to see DJ get pummeled. It sure starts that way. It’s very satisfying in that regard to start. Powers with a comeback and annoys everyone just by getting any sort of advantage. The match goes back and forth like this a little. DJ getting increasingly frustrated at his inability to win and finally just walks out the back and gets counted out. Tyree wins but he’s clearly annoyed at HOW. He grabs a mic. He calls Powers out for running. But that’s old news now. Because TOMORROW, he’s fighting Alec Price and he makes it VERY clear that he’s coming to Wrestling Open with Price dead in his sights.
Match 5: Gabby Forza vs Fancy Ryan Clancy (IWTV #1 Contenders Match)
A huge match with huge implications since Forza’s husband defeated Clancy for the IWTV belt a little over a week ago. Clancy is big mad and full heel and taking it out on gabby early. For the first few minutes, Gabby has no answer for anything Clancy is dishing out…and then Clancy serves up some chops and Gnomie gets mad. A spear and powerslam can’t get Clancy down for three. He stuns her trying another spear and locks in a Boston crab…Clancy makes the fatal mistake of calling out the name of Bear Bronson…and Forza fires up again! AA! Spear! Clancy kicks out again! Another Vader bomb misses….Clancy catches her coming off the ropes and the KO Dropkick does the job. Gnomie is down for the three. The crowd hates this result. Gabby is understandably upset but she leaves on a wave of cheers.
Match 6: Miracle Generation (Dustin Waller & Kylon King) vs Shot Through the Heart (Love Doug & TJ Crawford) (IWTV tag team Championship qualifier)
This is declared a semi final. The winners of tonight’s qualifier are fighting for the titles tomorrow night! In a straight up tag match, STTH is dominating. Dusty and Kylon thumb their nose at rules and just start double teaming their opponents. This ultra aggressive Miracle Genration seems dead set on reclaiming those titles they held for a long time before. TJ keeps getting ejected from the apron while Doug eats a beating. TJ finally in and sets up a prom pose driver on Kylon! Miracle Generation gets trapped in stereo camel clutches! Escape! Kylon with a sitout razor’s edge to Doug! Double knees to the heads! Doug kicks out! Crawford back in with a superplex! Super sliced bread! Doug with a suicide dive! Dusty throw in for a double powerbomb for two! Doug hits a Destroyer and a rebound! Kylon makes the save! This rules. Doug DDT’s Kylon on the apron. Dustin shoves TJ into ref bill, which allows for an uppercut to the nards. TJ is rolled up and Bill counts the three. Boooooooo!
Match 7: Kody Lane vs Ortiz
This is just a cool match to see on paper. It should absolutely deliver in person. Both of these guys have been around for over a decade at this point and the result is a solid hard hitting wrestling match. No real story except this is Ortiz’s home turf. Lane puts a beating on the funky monkey, we don’t like this. Ortiz left on the floor and almost counted out. Lane with great timing and hits a one legged lionsault as Ortiz rolls back in at nine! Ortiz keeps trying to trap him. Lane eats knees on a senton and stands up into a short ddt! Lane back in and they are going chop for chop. Lane looks for a brain buster…Ortiz reverses into a fisherman’s suplex and the hook stays in for the three!!!! This was a good match!
Match 8: Shooter Boys (Aaron Ortiz & Anthony Vecchio) vs Aaron Rourke & Marcus Mathers (#1 Contenders for the Wrestling Open Tag Titles)
Despite being the former Open tag Champs, they are in trouble tonight against this high level WWEID tandem. After a slow start, the pure chemistry between the Shooter Boys takes over and both Aaron and Marcus get stuck in a beatdown. Rourke with a hot tag. Doomsday meteora! Marcus could have this in the bag but Vecchio with a dragon screw off the buckles! Ankle locks from both Shooter Boys! Rourke shoots Ortiz into his partner, freeing them both! Rourke tries to capitalize but he gets sent out. Shooter Boys hit the doomsday blockbuster! Rourke saves it again! The craziest double superplex happens off Rourke’s back?!? War goes back and forth, no one really getting a clear advantage and any finish getting broken up. The end finally comes when Vecchio gets tombstoned on the floor. Ortiz flies out to get one over in Rourke. Mathers slides in with a superkick. A sparkle splash and a 450 to Ortiz secures the three! Crazy match.
Mathers on the mic. All respect to the shooter boys…but Mathers and Rourke are now the #1 contenders for the Wrestling Open tag titles.
Match 9: Laynie Luck(c) vs Liviyah (non-title match)
Liv was in the Elimination Match to determine the WWEId Women’s champion but was eliminated early in the goings. Liv is trying hard to show she deserves to not only contend for this belt again but get a WWEID contract for herself. Luck isn’t rolling over though. They have a pretty good scrap. Liv nearly takes it a few times but Laynie hits a DVD for the finish. Good stuff!
Match 10: Davey Bang & August Matthews vs StarStruck (Channing Thomas & Anthony Greene) (Qualifier for the IWTV Tag Team Championships)
The crowd doesn’t know Bang & Matthews and StarStruck is quick to start running them over and potentially embarrassing them. Greene cut off with a superkick and eats a leapfrog famouser. But StarStruck starts to roll again with rolling forearms and kicks. Bang turning it in and showing WHY they are in this mix with their speed and agility. Bang with a TERRIBLE landing on the back of his head. StarStruck looks to have it wrapped up with a demolition device but Matthews makes the save! Bang & Matthews flipping and flying! Double stomp to the spine of Channing! 450 to Channing! Matthews cuts off Greene as the three comes down! This is a really fun match, and if this was the first time the audience has seen Bang & Matthews: they got a treat. And what a contest that sets up for tomorrow. Miracle Generation immediately hits the ring to attack Bang & Matthews! StarStruck drives them off! They all celebrate in the rain, now that the heel and face dynamic of the finals is very clearly established.
Match 11: Eye Black Jack vs Donovan Dijak
What a rookie year this kid is having. What a test to close the year out. Jack represents the best of the BIOPro school going against the one-time undisputed Ace of Beyond Wrestling. Dijak starts to bully the kid but EBJ is firing right back. Dijak finally tosses him across the ring and just boots him to the floor. Hard forearms to the spine staggering Jack around the ring. Dijak brutalizes Jack in the crowd, he brutalizes him in the ring, he screams in Jack’s face. EBJ is not giving up though. He dodges a hook kick and powerslams Dijak! DD gets the throat….sitout chokeslam! Jack kicks out! Dijak is laughing. He gently hoists Jack up into a spinning DVD! Another kick out! Dijak firing up and taunting the crowd as Jack struggles. Dijak tries the discus boot but Jack catches and drops him for two! Jack tries a body splash but runs into that boot! Dijak…eats a brain buster! Jack splash! Dijak out at two!! Jack is fired up now. He knows what he has to do. Dijak and Jack almost lock in the Feast Your Eyes and the High Angle Uranage respectively but can’t get there. The fight to the top…..DIJAK WITH A SUPERPLEX AND A MOONSAULT! Kick out! Dijak almost hits Feast Your eyes…Jack lands the uranage! Dijak kicks out! He goes for it again but Dijak reverses and Feast Your Eyes connects for the three. Wild match. Dijak grabs the mic to put EBJ over. “if you fight like that tomorrow night, we’ll have a new Wrestling Open Champion”. What a show!
It’s time for the 4on4 Dan Barry Retirement Match. We know it’s Team Barry vs Team VSK but who are their partners???
Match 12: Dan Barry, Thicc Daddy Andy Brown, CPA & Bobby Orlando vs Vinnie Scalise, Rex Lawless, Nick Robles & Bryce Donovan (w/ Smart Mark Sterling) (8-man Tag Team Dan Barry Retirement Match)
Great spot as Sterling comes to the ring in a sling and diverts to the fire door to let in Donovan. Big pop for the former Open champ. This may be Dan Barry’s match but Bryce gets right in Bobby’s face. If I’m not mistaken, this is almost an entirely Create a Pro roster for this match. Really cool sendoff. These streamers are well deserved. The match is definitely in Team Barry’s favor until Bryce enters the contest and absolutely steamrolls CPA. Bobby in there and these former friends start to shove and it breaks out into a full brawl. Bryce has been gone for so long and he’s clearly been steaming over a chance for revenge. The champ unloading some Bobby slams but gets run into the bad corner and pummeled. And then they tag in Nick Robles and he just loses control of the momentum. Rex gets it back by beating up CPA and this time, the team doesn’t tag in Nick immediately. Bobby gets trapped as well after a sick backbreaker from scalise conncts. Scalise drops everyone off the apron. Bobby eats a Bryce black hole slam…kick out! Orlando hits Bryce with an AA! tag to Dan Barry! He takes care of Scalise! He forces Nick to ddt Rex! Team Vinnie on the floor and everyone is diving on them! Dan completes the combo with a springboard moonsault to the floor! Double world’s strongest slam from the residency to Dan and Bobby! It’s just chaos now. Brown hits a package piledriver to Nick onto Rex! That was nuts. Dan Barry kicks out after a powerbomb splash combo with a Bryce and Scalise holding him down! Mark Sterling clocks him with his cast! Andy Brown saves the pin! Sterling pulls the leg of Brown and this time Ref Bill sees it! Sterling is ejected! He passes Vinnie a set of brass knuckles. Dan ducks it! Tombstone to VSK! Bryce gets the knuckles and lays him out! Ref Bill gets back to make the count but Barry kicks out again! Bryce is furious at Ref Bill and goes for a chokeslam?!? Bobby makes the save! Sterling tries to interfere again but Ref Bill decks him! Dan Barry hits a big slam off the buckles! A corkscrew senton follows and he pins Nick Robles for the three! Fantastic!
Beyond Owner Denver Colorado jokes that Dan Barry was supposed to retire in 2025….but we’re past midnight, it’s 2026! Happy New Year! Dan on the mic. He thanks everyone in the match. He handpicked everyone for this clash. He thanks Beyond for giving him a second life in 2010. He offers advice to the wrestlers at ringside: You are wrestling for the people who are here. More streamers. Flowers for Dan. This was great. Thanks for all the good wrestling, Dan. And holy hell we have one more match.
Main Event: Bear Bronson(c) (w/ Gabby Forza) vs Krule (Fans Bring the Weapons Match for the IWTV Independent Wrestling World Championship)
In previous years, I’ve tried to list as many implements of f***ery as I could. Crutches, doors, a car hood, salt, pretty sure there’s a firecracker bat. Is that a Kuerig? Suffice it to say, it’s a Christmas morning worth of plunder in the ring for tonight’s main event. It’s interesting that Gabby is out here. Wild that THIS is Bear’s first defense. Krule boots Gabby over and that sets Bear aflame. Krule starts going through doors. Krule swining a flail with a heavy metal spiked ball! Bear ducks. Discus clothesline! Bear sent to the floor…Krule suicides dives into the front row! And now we’re swinging boards, gussets, rubber chickens, a tack covered boot! Bears a bloody mess after taking a gusset to the head. They fight through the crowd until Krule chokeslams Bear into the apron. Back in the ring, Bear lands an elbow drop but only gets a two. Krule is staggering as he takes seemingly endless punishment. And then Krule blasts him in the head with a chair! He pours salt all over Bear and his a chokeslam! Salt everywhere! Bear kicks out! Krule is swinging crutches and just yeeting them into the crowd. That’s…a choice. Bear with a sitout bomb through a bunch of chairs! I dodge a hockey stick that gets tossed. Bear just walking through Krule’s swinging door attacks! Bear walks into a scorched earth but kicks out! Krule gets a gasoline canister. Gabby Forza on the apron pleading that THIS CANNOT BE DONE. Gabby grabs a firecracker bat and blows it up on the Atrocity! Bear dives out after! Krule in staggering! Double chokeslam! This could be the three but Krule throws fire in his face! Gabby is checking on her husband as Krule recovers. She escapes a chokeslam! Bear spears Krule into a door! Bear gets Gabby out of there but he turns back around to eat a Scorched Earth. KRULE GETS THE THREE AND IS THE NEW IWTV CHAMPION. Whaaaaaaat?!?
Fancy Ryan Clancy comes out to gloat about Bear losing the belt in nine days in his first defense. Clancy says he was never pinned for his title so who really lost the belt? He mocks Bear and Gabby as sitting bloody in a pile of plunder as losers. And Clancy? He’s already the number one contender. Gabby and Ref Bill hold Bear back from a Ryan Clancy who won’t stop mocking them and wishes them a happy new year. Holy hell what an ending.
