AEW Dynamite is live from the Liberty First Credit Union Arena in Omaha, NE. The commentary team is Excalibur and Tony Schiavone.
We start with Excalibur running down tonight’s card and then introducing a highlight reel from Saturday night’s World’s End. We then see MJF show up in a white SUV and comes through the back to the stage and to the ring.
He explains that he is MJF the World Champion over Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe, and Hangman Adam Page. He tosses down the title and unveils the new belt, the Triple B. He says some fans are upset that he outsmarted and out wrestled everyone. He tells people to step up or get stepped on. He is no longer going to slow down for the people in the back. He will sprint until he is the greatest of all time and gives his catchphrase…
And he is interrupted by Kenny Omega from an undisclosed location, who wonders if he could become champion again. He says no matter if he gets a shot next week or has to climb the ladder, MJF will be seeing a lot more of him.
MJF says that Omega wasn’t man enough to say anything to his face and he then head Page’s music. That is followed by Swerve’s music. Both Swerve and Page are in the crowd on opposite sides. They slowly make their way to the ring until Security shows up at the barricade and holds them back. MJF says wins and losses matter and right now, they are both losers. He tells them to pick up some wins, talk to Tony Khan and he’ll whip their asses again.
Page and Swerve break through security and get to the bing where they take out the security. They grab microphones. Page says when he gets a hold of MJF, he will strangle him with the belt, and Swerve says he better pray Page gets a hold of him first and the hunt is on.
We see Samoa Joe and The Opps on the Big Screen, and he says the only man who deserves to be a number one contender who was robbed, Samoa Joe says because they dared attack Hook, Hook has been tasked to seek and destroy, and Powerhouse Hobbs is being sent to Swerve, and they will beat them down next week because he doesn’t want to be in this town any longer.
Swerve and Page challenge Hook and Hobbs to a no holds barred, lights out match.
In the back, Renee is with Orange Cassidy, Mark Briscoe, and Roderick Strong. Briscoe says after tonight, the TBS title will be with the Conglomeration and today's word of the day is asphyxiation, and and because tonight is another mixed nuts match, they will be choking on deez nuts. Tony Storm, Luther, and Mina Shirakawa show up and Toni flirts with Orange to Mina’s chagrin. Tony assures her it’s just wrestling and asks Luther for an orange, which she takes a huge bite of. They leave and Roddy tells Renee he does not want to be a part of this.
Orange Cassidy, Toni Storm, and Roderick Strong vs The Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir, and Daniel Garcia) - Tornado Trios Match
Everyone starts brawling and left in the ring are Toni and Shafir, and Toni batters Shafir in the corner. Claudio tosses Toni and Strong hits a drop-kick on Claudio before beating him down in the corner. Garcia takes Claudio’s place and gives Roddy ten in the corner. Cassidy takes Roddy’s part and gives Garcia one in the corner after a big windup. Shafir gets a full nelson and Cassidy breaks it with hands in his pockets. Cassidy gets a rollup for two and Shafir fires kicks and strikes until Garcia steps in and gives Cassidy a suplex.
Claudio, Shafir, and Garcia get the endless charges into the corner on Cassidy and when he drops to the mat, we go to picture in picture.
Roddy has been the babyface in peril through the break and he gets stomped down by all three Death Riders. Roddy starts to fight back., but they cut him off. Roddy then starts fighting back again and Toni and Toni hit the ring to help.
Toni and Cassidy dance and fight as they did Saturday. They give Claudio a double hip toss, Cassidy gets a PK and Toni tries for a giant swing, but it’s broken up by Garcia. It’s then time for everyone to get a big move on the last person in the ring until Cassidy hits Stundog Millionaire on Claudio, Toni follows with a hip attack; Cassidy gets a spinning DDT. Wheeler Yuta grabs Cassidy’s hair and holds him for an uppercut from Claudio, the pin, and the win.
Winners: The Death Riders
Toni starts to help Cassidy, but Mina and Luther stop her as Roddy helps Cassidy instead.
We get a hype video for Mercedes Mone.
Bandido (Ring of Honor World Champion) vs Mortos w/Sammy Garcia
They lock up and go to the corner where Bandido gets a back elbow and then uses his cloak as a muleta and Mortos charges at it twice. Mortos grabs the cape and stomps it on the mat as Bandido goes to the floor. Mortos gets a tornado through the ropes into Bandido on the floor. Bandido is rolled into the ring and Mortos misses a charge in the corner. Bandido gets a pair of arm drags, but Mortos gets a rollup for two. Bandido gets a two count and take each other down for no count. Mortos spills to the outside and Bandido puts on his cape before leaping from the top onto Mortos on the floor as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Mortos covers Bandido for two. Bandido grabs Mortos’s bead by his feet and rolls him up for two. Bandido then hits Deja Déjà vu and then hits a thrust kick. Bandido goes to the top and hits a frog splash for two. Bandido runs into a chop and Mortos bets a pop-up Samoan drop for two. Bandido gets out of a pickup and charges at Mortos, who catches him for a tilt a whirl backbreaker into a discus lariat for two.
Mortos picks Bandido up for another discus lariat. Mortos goes to the top and misses a shooting star press. Bandido gets a boot to the face and then hits a GTS and follows with the 21 Plex for the pin and the win.
Winner: Bandido
In the back, Renee is with Bandido and Brody King. Bandido speaks in Spanish, and Brody says Bandido is the Most Wanted, everyone is gunning for him and after beating MJF for the World Title, the target will be even bigger. Brody says that after Bandido wins the World Title, Brody is first in line.
Brody King vs The Already In The Ring Lee Johnson
Lee dives on Brody as he is on the way to the ring, but Brody then starts tossing Lee around on the entryway and then tosses him into the ring. Lee gets some offense as Brody tries to attack in the corner, but Brody hits a lariat to stop his momentum. Brody then hits a cannonball in the corner and follows it with a power bomb for the pin and the win.
Winner: Brody King
Next is a promo from Darby Allin, and he says sometimes this life catches up with him. He says he sees the arguments of how he lives his life but he wishes he could explain how it gives him peace. He says he has beaten each of the Death Riders, except Pac, so he needs to finish what he started.
Jon Moxley (Continental Champion) vs Josh Alexander w/Don Callis - Eliminator Match
Josh attacks on Mox's blind side as the match starts. Josh beats down Mox in the corner. Mox leans on the second rope and then Josh grabs Mox’s face and then lays in blows. This starts to charge Mox up and they throw hands in the middle of the ring. Mox starts throwing blows without Josh firing back. Josh comes off the ropes and picks the leg, going after Mox’s ankle. Josh puts Mox in the corner and wraps his leg around the rope. They ref makes them break and Mox fires chops and then beats down Josh in the corner.
Mox gets ten in the corner and then drops Josh with a forearm. Mox drags Josh’s eyes across the top ropes. Josh is able to send Mox to the floor and Josh follows him to the floor. Josh slams Mox’s injured leg on the apron. They return to the ring and Mox has trouble standing. Josh is busted open and he puts Mox on top and ties him in the tree of woe. Josh gets a running crossbody and then climbs to the top and beats on Mox’s leg as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Josh has an ankle lock and Mox grabs the rope for the break. Mox rolls to the apron. Josh joins him there and tries for a suplex. Mox free himself and tries a pile driver. Josh escapes and they go back and forth until they start chopping each other on the apron. They move to kicks, and then to forearms. Josh kicks Mox’s leg out from under him and then slams him on the apron.
Mox is on the mat and Josh tries for a moonsault off the top, but Mox rolls out of the way. Both men are down and they slowly get up and go back to throwing hands. Josh gets a basement drop-kick into Mox’s leg and Mox gets a running cutter for two. Josh gets a back suplex as Mox tries for a bulldog choke. Josh drop-kicks Mox to the corner and Mox comes out with a lariat.
They both struggle to get up, but Mox is up first. The crowd cheers for Mox and as he grabs Josh, Josh rolls to the floor. Mox dives onto him. Josh is rolled into the ring and Mox follows him as Josh then rolls out the other side. Josh grabs Mox and wraps his leg around the ringpost. Josh turns it into figure four around the ringpost. Mox can’t stand in the ring and Josh stalks him. Josh goes to the top and hits a diving knee drop into Mox’s leg. Josh then gets a leg bar, but Mox pulls him off into the rear naked choke.
Josh starts to free himself but Mox hits a series of hammer and anvil elbows, knocking off Josh’s headgear and Josh has to tap out.
Winner: Jon Moxley
After the match, MVP and Shelton Benjamin come to the stage to watch as Mox goes through the crowd.
The Triangle of Madness cuts a promo where Thekla says she loved it when Kris Statlander dropped Jamie Hayter on her head, but that doesn’t mean they are not coming for the women’s world title.
Ricochet (National Champion) w/GOA vs Jack Perry
They lock up and Ricochet goes into the ropes for the break. Ricochet grabs a side headlock and they move to arm bars back and forth. Ricochet rolls forward to shoot Jack to the floor where GOA starts to menace him until Luchasaurus backs him up. Jack returns to the ring and they run the ropes. Jack tries to pull Ricochet by his hair, but HE’S BALD so he does it by Ricochet’s beard instead.
Jack then dives onto Ricochet on the floor and tosses him into the ring. GOA and Luchasaurus fight when GOA tries to grab Jack. Jack is knocked to the floor and Ricochet dives onto him as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Jack gets a running elbow strike. He then gets a series of strike and then gets a German suplex on Ricochet. Jack tries for a swinging DDT but Ricochet blocks it, gets a Northern lights suplex and hits a brain buster and follows with a shooting star press for two. Jack escapes the vertigo into an O'Conner roll for two. Jack gets a comebacker lariat for two.
Jack signals for the knee strike and Ricochet rolls to the floor. Ricochet gets a guillotine on the top rope. Jack dumps Ricochet to the floor and gets a bulldog on Ricochet on the floor. Jack rolls Ricochet into the ring and dodges an attack from Bishop Kaun on the floor. Jack goes to the top and Ricochet knocks him down by running into the ropes. Ricochet and Jack fight on the top. Ricochet is knocked down and Jack gets a DDT for two.
Kaun grabs Jack's boot as the ref checks on Ricochet, allowing Ricochet to get the Spirit Gun for the pin and the win.
Winner and still National Champion: Ricochet
Toa Leona comes from back, dragging Luchasaurus. Toa slams a loose barricade into Luchasaurus. As Jack is starting to loo, Ricochet attacks him from behind, and Ricochet joins in the attack on Luchasaurus. Security runs out to stop them, but Ricochet and GOA beat down security.
In the back, the Death Riders have a camera. Mox says he is fine fighting with Shelton Benjamin, Shafir says something in… I dunno, Russian? Garcia and Yuta say if Darby wants Pac, he has to go through them.
In the back, Harley Cameron gives a pep talk to Willow Nightingale who says she will end the year by winning the TBS Championship.
Renee is with MJF, and they are joined by Bandido and Brody King who remind him he has to face Bandido in two weeks, and Bandido will beat him.
Mercedes Mone (TBS Champion) vs Willow Nightingale
Mone pie faces Willow before the introductions and Harley holds her back.
Mone drop-kicks Willow to the floor and then runs her into the barricade. Mone beats up Willow on the floor. Willow dodges a double knee strike into the barricade and then hits Mone with a pounce. Willow rolls Mone into the ring and covers for two. Willow gets a series of forearms in the corner and Mone gets a pair of rollups for two. Willow gets a backslide for two and then a short arm lariat for two.
They go back and forth in the middle of the wing until Mone shoves Willow into the corner and gets a rising boot. They fight in the middle of the ring and Willow is able to get a big drop-kick off the middle ropes. Willow then hits a cannonball in the corner for two. Mone rolls to the floor and Willow gets a cannonball off the apron. Mone sweeps the leg of Willow, knocking her into the ring steps. Mone then gets a running knee into Willow, driving her into the ring steps again as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Willow gets a Death Valley Driver on Mone. Both women are down and slow to get up. Willow gets a series of clotheslines. She follows with a hip attack and a snap mare. Mone catches Willow’s boot and goes to the ropes, but Willow gets a pounce. Willow hits another Death Valley Driver for two.
Mone gets a backstabber and a series of strikes. Willow hits a power bomb on Mone for two, with Mone getting a foot on the bottom rope. Willow goes to the top and goes for a moonsault but Mone rolls out of the way. Mone goes to the top and hits a frog splash, but Willow gets her knees up. They move to the apron and Willow gets a Death Valley driver on the apron. Mone fights off a return to the ring and Willow tries for a cannonball from the apron, but Mone dodges.
Mone suplexes Willow twice, and Willow blocks the third. Willow clears the announce desk and puts Mone on the top of it. Mone pleads with Willow to stop and they go back and forth on top before Mone is able to get a suplex on the table. They both get in the ring before the 9 count. Willow gets a two count and Mone gets a series of hammer and anvil elbow strikes and locks in the Statement Maker. Willow rolls back for two.
Willow hoists Mone and Mone fights her way free. They go back and forth and Willow driver Mone into the turnbuckle. They fight for a back slide but Mone gets a rollup for two. Mone gets a jackknife pin and Willow rolls over and gets the Doctor Bomb for the pin and the win.
Winner and NEW TBS Champion: Willow Nightingale.
Streamers fly and Harley hugs Willow for the victory. People come from the back and Kris Statlander comes to the ring to celebrate the victory and Willow gives her a big hug as we are out of time!
