After watching Smackdown last night, what's next for Ilja Dragunov?
That’s a good question. I don’t like how they booked his Title run at all. Hopefully they can reset him and get out of him what they did in NXT UK. The guy has a ton of talent.
His US title reign did not involve one rivalry, and he has now dropped the title to another guy he had no real heat with. His biggest win was arguably over Sami Zayn to win the title. After seeing him put the title on Hayes as a show of "respect", could that be a hint at turning him heel since that's a trope WWE likes to lean on?
In the past I would have said yes. Now? They have a new trope of babyfaces respecting other babyfaces that they lean on way too much.
I know she was in there with Charlotte, but could Lash Legend have lost by either countout or DQ? A roll-up based off a distraction isn't the same as submitting to the Figure 8, but it's still a loss.
It did play her off as inexperienced since she got caught by the vet. If she doesn’t fire back from that it will not be good for her character.
After the Drew/Cody segment, Drew has to win the title, right? I know he's somewhat teflon and is a master at getting his heat back, but he's been taking a LOT of losses this year. You?
I think he SHOULD win the Title for sure, given all that has happened. But I don’t see them doing it this close to WrestleMania, at least not for any length of time. They have Cody penciled in as a prominent part of Mania so I think that once again, they will do Drew badly with the booking.
