Are you against AI writing wrestling storylines if they are better than what the humans have been producing?
On the surface, I am not for AI writing. I think writers should be able to write and be creative. But if they weren’t good at doing that job and somehow they still had it, I would be for AI if it was delivering a better product.
Regardless of the current lawsuit outcome, Vince McMahon is controversial character in real life. As wrestling fans, separating the real life person vs. the celebrity artist/performer is an interesting debate (Hulk Hogan, Chris Benoit) like it is with controversial celebrities (OJ Simpson, Danny Masterson, Michael Jackson). When it comes to Vince McMahon, and contrasting what he produced vs. the direction TKO is headed, do you miss anything about the guy creatively? I mean, we're seeing it's a tough job with how wretched the product is right now.
Honestly? No, I don’t miss him at all. I am glad he has been put out to pasture. The product was much worse under him, much worse.
Between 1980 and 2020, Vince rocked it probably 40% of the time. Just because HHH came hard out of the gate, it doesn't mean he's superior. Didn't Russo learn that in WCW? Did HHH impress TKO enough to keep his job while they figure out how to make the AI machine work?
I disagree with you there. I prefer HHH’s booking mind, even when he is the doldrums, to Vince. I don’t ever need to have a character called Dewdrop again, among other things. HHH booked an excellent product in NXT before taking over the main roster. TKO gave him a long term deal so clearly he impressed them. Even when HHH’s product is not great, he doesn’t insult my intelligence, at least nowhere close to how Vince did.
Vince was smart enough to try to stay out of politics unless it was for our military. Dana White is unabashedly MAGA. If a WWE higher-up like HHH, Cena or The Rock went that direction with their political views, would TKO be smart enough to rein them in and/or at least keep it off our goofy show?
I think that they would keep it off the show, for sure. But if they don’t rein in Dana White, I don’t see them doing it to the people you mentioned.
