Spotlight Match: Devious Cass vs Jake Gray
Jake goes for that arm wrench early but Cass quickly reverses it and cranks it over his shoulder. Jake shrugs that off and starts rolling through Cass until he’s cut off with a claymore. Cass with a dragon suplex and a jumping stunner that doesn’t quite land so Gray can kick out. Gray finally rallies back, gets that arm wrench and lands the lariat for the win. Solid match but someone really needs to teach Cass what it is to be “devious”.
Match 1: Star Struck (Channing Thomas & Anthony Greene) vs Shooter Boys (Anthony Vecchio & Aaron Ortiz)
Two weeks ago, these teams went to a time limit draw but Star Struck called out the Boys for not wrestling with their whole hearts (since the Stetson Ranch had hijacked their tag titles the week before). Maybe we get a more focused and determined pair of former tag champs in this 20-minute time limit rematch. The first few minutes, the Shooters appear to be on the same page at least but this is a very grounded match, lots of holds aimed at wearing down their larger opponents. Vecchio saves Ortiz from a suplex and lands a big one on Channing. Greene starts getting steamrolled with their tag team cohesion but AG quickly powders to the floor for a conference with World Class. Greene wrestling with Vecchio and he lands a stiff forearm that gets Anthony’s blood boiling. Greene apologies but Vecchio shoves his hand away. He’s not into sportsmanship flight now. Ortiz has some of that fire too after drop kicking Channing and mad dogging AG on the corner. Greene has had it with this and whips Anthony chest first into the buckles. This is the more aggressive side of Star Struck starting to show up. Ortiz starting to take a beating here, ensuring several slams and tosses and just getting his head bounced off of every surface it can find. Finally a suplex allows the tag to Vecchio and he’s running wild as we hit the 15 minute mark. Greene lands face first into the floor mats as Channing is slammed back with a saito suplex into an ankle lock. Greene back into it and they get Vecchio set up for a doomsday….Ortiz is back in too! Star Struck with the demolition device! Vecchio kicks out! Ortiz fighting them both off! Double Northern lights!!! It sure looks like the Shooter Boys found their damn fire. Greene evades a splash…Thomas with a top rope elbow to Ortiz! Kick out! We have one minute left! Is start struck going for an Indy taker??? We almost have a double pin! Vecchio traps Channing in a vicious ankle lock and drops back. Channing screaming in pain as time expires. We have a draw again! Fantastic match.
Ortiz on the mic. If Star Struck said they weren’t wrestling like champions before, they just proved they ARE the champions in their hearts. They challenge Star Struck for a third match in two weeks…NO TIME LIMIT. Naturally, Star Struck agrees. This was a blast.
Tiara James is out here to be interviewed by Lauren St James. She was last seen competing for the WWE ID Women’s Champion…Lauren ask what’s next for her. How is she gonna bounce back? Tiara gets in her face that you don’t bounce back when you’re top tier. She tries to bully Lauren off the stage…St James stands up to her! Tiara slaps her, bringing out Shannon LaVangie. Shannon sets up a clash in two weeks where she can take HER frustrations out on Tiara!
Match 2: Wonderboy Brian Morris vs Brando Lee
Lee and Ichiban definitely have their eyes on the Stetson Ranch’s tag team gold. Here’s a good preview of that clash between the lesser tenured members of those respective teams. Morris tries to brutalize Lee. Brando with the comeback, hitting a large chunk of his finale combo before Morris rolls away. Brian trying to wrap this up but he gets rolled up and Lee gets the three!
Match 3: Jose Zamora vs CPA
Zamora wants CPA to take off ZERO shirts tonight. He wants to pummel the taxman and talk to his chat. Well, he falls for the clip on tie trick and A shirt comes off. Zamora eats a codebreaker that just makes him mad as he taunts CPA through this whipping. Zamora dodges a missile dropkick. Big backstabber out of the corner. Zamora seems to have punched himself out. CPA hits the 1099! Rip another shirt! Dropkick off the top! Zamora kicks out and it’s time to crunch numbers. Zamora has CPA’s short and uses it to set up a flip cutter for the three. Boooooo!
Zamora on the mic. He plans to end the year with his biggest win ever in two weeks…when he battles and WINS against Big Bacon Brad Hollister. Mmm…yeah? That COULD happen?
Match 4: Eye Black Jack vs Marcus Mathers
This is pretty much the biggest match of Jack’s career so far. A true test for the BIOPro grad against the former IWTV King and current WWE ID prospect. Jack hangs through the quick opening pin sequences. He shows that he can trade powerful shoulders with Mathers. Jack with a delay vertical suplex gets the first meaningful pin attempt of the match. Jack leaps over an incoming Mathers and clearly tweaks something in his knee. Marcus RIGHT ON THAT. He hits the knee. Makes Jack get up. Hits Jack. Hits the knee. Repeat. Jack is getting picked apart. But that also telegraphs where Marcus is gonna be going and Jack with a quick dodge and starts to land, grimacing in pain. They start trading home run chops back and forth. Marcus getting the better of it but Jack catches him and almost hits the powerslam….but his knee gives out! Marcus trying to end this finally puts Jack’s lights out with a superkick and gets the three after a very highly contested match.
Main Event: Fancy Ryan Clancy(c) vs Bear Bronson (for the IWTV Independent Wrestling Championship)
Bear won a number one contenders match to get this shot…but he also has that Opportunity Knocks contract in hand as well. There’s a lot of bad blood between these two. The crowd is split but it definitely seems like Team Bear has a louder representation tonight. Bear is fired up. Clancy is trying to stay cool but you can tell he has some intense disregard for his challenger. There is nothing fancy about how Ryan is working this match, he just wants to HURT Bear. Bronson, in turn, is more than happy to add another heavy aggressive battle to his resume. The action hits the floor and Clancy is just being mauled out here. Clancy with a desperate shove into the post! He piledrives Bear into the floor!!! Bronson barely makes the ten count! Clancy swarms and pummels Bear into the apron facefirst. This is the advantage Clancy needs, he slows the contest down and starts grinding away at the head, neck and abs of Bronson. Bear escapes a second piledriver and hits that earthquake splash! Black hole slam for two! Clancy dodges the discus lariat but the chokebomb hits home. Clancy barely makes the kick out before the three. Bear calls for the Fire Thunder Driver! Clancy with a dropkick and bridging German! Bear kicks out! He’s not hibernating yet! Clancy is mad, hooks the face and just starts slamming his head into the mat! He chokes him on the top rope…Clancy leaps into a standing butterfly guillotine! Bronson looks like he’s fading…the arm comes back to life! Discus lariat hits! Fire Thunder Driver! One! Two! Clancy gets a foot on the rope! Clancy is a lump on the mat now as Bear tries to figure out what he needs to do to end this. Clancy and Bear grapple but end up taking out Ref Scott! As they look on in shock…Clancy dropkicks Bear! There’s no ref! Clancy grabs the IWTV belt! He’s gonna do it! Clancy think better and is about to put it down when Marcus Mathers runs out to stop him. They struggle over the belt! Mathers loses the tug of war and Clancy “accidentally” drops Bear with the title. Scott’s back up! He ejects Mathers! Clancy makes the cover! Bear kicks out and rages to his feet! He comes running…right into the Fancy KO dropkick that puts him down for the three. Fancy did it! The crowd has almost fully turned on him. They HATE this. Clancy celebrates but gets out of there before Bear wakes up. Excellent title contest.
Bronson comes to and he gets the mic. “I am so sick and tired of this stuff happening to me”. Clancy showed us his true colors to survive Bear Bronson. No one can out wrestle Bear. It takes absolute shenanigans to get past him. But Bear is always ready for more and his reign is just a matter of time. In two weeks, he’s fighting Clancy again and it doesn’t matter if he has to use his contract or not….this WILL come to an end.
