Do you ever see pro wrestling running major events like Starrcade or Survivor Series on Thanksgiving again?
One can never assume no, but my feeling is that the culture has changed and the idea of there being a major event on a Thanksgiving or a Christmas won't return. Taped events on TV, sure, but not major arena events or PPVs for pro wrestling.
With the anniversary of Eddie Guerrero’s passing and the question about Brian Pillman, can you give some recommendations on matches of theirs to watch over the log US weekend? Thanks.
To me, Eddie Guerrero's best matches were his bouts with Dean Malenko in 1995 in ECW. Search out Hostile City Showdown 1995 and pretty much all of their rematches through August 1995. In WCW, they had a great bout at Starrcade 1997 as well. Guerrero also had really fun matches against 2 Cold Scorpio in ECW. Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio at Halloween Havoc in WCW is an all-time classic. Guerrero against Kurt Angle at Summerslam 2004 as well.
Brian Pillman's most memorable promo of all time was ECW's Cyberslam 1996 but his best matches, in my opinion, were in WCW. I'd suggest Pillman vs. Ric Flair from WCW TV in February 1990, Pillman and Tom Zenk vs. The Midnight Express from WCW Capitol Combat, Pillman vs. Jushin Liger from WCW Superbrawl 2 in 1992, his Hollywood Blondes tag team bouts with Steve Austin vs. Shane Douglas and Ricky Steamboat.
Do you think we could see Liv Morgan return to help Dominik Mysterio beat John Cena at Survivor Series?
If she's cleared to return to physical action, that's a hell of an idea. We had always heard the belief was she would be back by January, but if she gets cleared earlier, obviously WWE would want one of their most popular female performers back in the mix. We know that she filmed promotional WWE material on 11/18 in NYC, so if WWE was including her in that shoot, they believe she will be back relatively soon. If she's ready, I could absolutely see them sneaking her in and unveiling her in a dramatic way.
Thoughts on TNA's Turkey Bowl?
It's fine as an undercard, silly comedy deal to bring levity in honor of the holiday.
When will WWE bring back a big wedding or food fight?
Well, weddings have always done decent ratings, but I always felt the WWE food fights were more to entertain Vince McMahon vs. anything else, so I'd guess we'll see a wedding again before a food fight!
