11/19 AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

AEW Dynamite is live in Boston, MA at the Agganis Arena. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Bryan Danielson.

Excalibur runs down the card for the night as we get shots of the crowd. 

Ricochet w/GOA vs Bobby Lashley w/MVP - Winner gets the #1 spot in the Casino Battle Royal. 

Ricochet calls for a mic as the bell rings and he has a couple of things to say over the crowd booing. He cheers for the Philadelphia Eagles and mocks the local sports team. He then says he wants to get out of the state as soon as he can. He then mocks MVP for misspeaking and calling the new title the International title instead of the National title. He keeps yelling at the crowd, until Lashley tosses him out of the ring onto the GOA.

Bobby runs through all of Ricochet’s team one at a time on the floor. He rolls Ricochet into the ring and charges at him. Ricochet gets a rollup with feet on the ropes for two. Ricochet hits three super kicks and Bobby is knocked to the mat. Ricochet hits a pair of dives on Bobby on the mat for two. Ricochet misses a shooting stat press from the top. Ricochet pulls the ref in front of him as Bobby charges.

Bobby starts, and is able to grab Ricochet for a slam and then a spear for the pin and the win.

Winner and 1st in the Casino Gauntlet match: Bobby Lashley

Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata are backstage and Joe complains that Adam Page has gotten the company to make it so if he gets involved in Page’s match tonight, he will lose his title match. Joe then puts over Shibata for Shibata’s match with Page tonight. 

Renee Paquette is with the Young Bucks and she asks if they are joining the Don Callis Family, and Don shows up and says the Bucks will win their match and give her the answer after they win the match.

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) and Josh Alexander w/Don Callis vs Sky Flight (Dante and Darius Martin and Scorpio Sky) w/Leila Grey and Christopher Daniels

Don Callis joins commentary/ Christopher Daniels does not.

Dante and Nick start the match and quickly go to running the ropes until Nick gets a rope assisted arm drag. They go back and forth with high-flying moves. Josh is tagged in as is Darius. They run the ropes and Josh gets a shoulder tackle. Josh then gets a slam on Darius and a flying forearm in the corner. Darius gets a drop-kick and Dante is tagged in.

Sky Flight triple team the newly tagged in Matt.

It’s time for lots of dives as Josh and Sky fight on the other side of the ring and we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Sky has been the babyface in peril through the break. Josh tags himself in as the Bucky were prepping for a superkick party. They have words and this allows Sky to get a rollup for two on Josh. Darius is able to tag in and runs wild. He gets a leaping DDT through the ropes on Josh for a two. Dante and Darius work on Josh in their corner. They get an electric chair with Dante doing a two rope leap onto Josh for two.

The Bucks get in the ring and go through their Young Buckery. Dante pulls them into each other when they try for a BTE trigger. Dante then leaps onto the Bucks on the floor, and follows with a big cross body onto Josh for two. Josh is able to get out of a sunset flip into an ankle lock, and Dante rolls through. The Bucks hit Dante with a Meltzer Driver and then Josh gets an ankle lock and Dante has to tap out.

Winners: The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) and Josh Alexander 

Members of the Don Callis Family join him, Josh and the Bucks in the ring as Don makes his big announcement that they are joining the Don Callis Family. Callus tells them everything he has done for them and they need to announce it. Callus then says he is reminding them that AEW is a very dangerous place and he’d hate to see what happened to Kenny Omega happen to them. 

We then get Kenny Omega’s music. He is in a suit and carrying a chair he uses to take out the members of the family who come at him, and attacks Josh in the ring. The Bucks get between them, and Josh grabs an ankle lock. Don tells Josh to let him go. Don then tells the Bucks and says they can show him that the Bucks have joined the family with a BTE trigger. The Bucks put him in position and…

Jurassic Express runs to the ring to the same Kenny with a snow shovel and a vacuum cleaner.

In the back, Renee is with Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron who talk about their upcoming match with the Sisters of Sin and they will be the first women’s tag team champions. 

Tony Schiavone talks about the passing of Bob Caudle and his work with him. 

 

Shelton Benjamin w/MVP vs Speedball Mike Bailey - Winner is #2 in the Casino Gauntlet Mat

 

MVP joins commentary.

 

They observe the code of honor and lock up and move to the corner where Mike gets a quick series of kicks. Shelton tosses Mike to the floor. They go back and forth on the floor with Mike whipping Shelton into the ring post and following it up with kicks to the arm. Shelton tosses Mike into the barricade. 

Mike is rolled into the ring and Shelton follows him. They run the ropes and Mike gets a rollup for two. Mike gets a second rollup for two. Mike goes for an arm bar on Shelton’s injured arm. Shelton turns it into an ankle lock. Mike rolls through and kicks Shelton off the apron. Mike dives into Shelton who catches and slams him as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Shelton gets a pop-up drop for two. Mike tries a few kicks but Shelton gets a big knee. Mike gets a shotgun drop-kick off the second rope and hits a series of kick. Mike gets a standing shooting star press for one only. Mike lays in kicks and Shelton grabs his leg and Mike gets a flying arm bar and Shelton picks him up and they go over the top rope to the floor.

Shelton is up first and he works over Mike on the floor. Shelton goes for a slam, but Mike makes it into a hurricanrana into the barricade. Mike makes it to the ring and the ref keeps counting. Shelton gets into the ring and 9 and runs right into a big kick. Mike goes to the top and hits a shooting star press for two.

Mike hits PKs and Shelton sits up after each one. Mike gets the backflip knees for two and then gets an arm bar. Shelton picks Mike up and slams him. Mike gets a rollup for two, and then Shelton gets a thrust kick for two. MVP is frustrated that Shelton hasn’t won and gets into the ring. The Ref tells MVP to get out of the ring. Shelton hits a German suplex, a knee strike and a superkick for the pin and the win.

Winner and 2nd in the Casino Gauntlet match: Shelton Benjamin

Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley w/Marina Shafir vs Roderick Strong and Orange Cassidy

Roddy and Claudio start the match and Cassidy rushes across the ring and attacks Mox as Claudio and Roddy fight in the ring. Both pairs fight as Roddy and Claudio leave the ring. All four men brawl around the ring until Roddy is rolled into the ring and Mox tags in. Mox batters Roddy corner to corner and then makes his eyes across the ropes. Claudio tags in and joins Mox as Cassidy gets into the ring. Cassidy is dropped and rolls to the floor. Roddy tries to fight both Mox and Claudio, but they eventually overwhelm him.

Mox and Claudio work over Roddy with quick tags. Cassidy runs into the ring and gets a spinning DDT on Mox, but Claudio knocks him out of the ring. Cassidy gets into the ring and gets a stundog millionaire on Claudio. Cassidy dives onto Claudio, who catches him and press slams him into the barricade. Claudio gets a running uppercut and all four men brawl into the crowd as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Cassidy has become the babyface in peril. Cassidy gets a diving DDT on Claudio and crawls to his corner. Mox is tagged in as Roddy is tagged in and Roddy cleans house. Roddy hits a tiger driver on Mox for two and then goes for the Stronghold but Daniel Garcia gets onto the apron. As Roddy goes for him, Mox hits a Paradigm shift and Cassidy breaks up the pin. Claudio and Cassidy fight to the floor. 

Claudio goes to the top and Roddy shoves Mox into Castagnoli on the top. Roddy then goes to the top and gets a superplex on Mox. Cassidy is tagged in and hits Garcia with an orange punch as he gets on the apron. Yuta baits Cassidy who chases him, and as Cassidy gets into the ring, Claudio gets a pop-up uppercut. Mox grabs a bulldog choke and Cassidy passes out.

Winners: Claudio Castagoli and Jon Moxley.

Mox refuses to let go of the choke, which brings out Kyle O’Reilly, who grabs an ankle lock on Mox. Yuta and Garcia throw stomps at Kyle, who won’t let go. Cassidiy and Roddy toss Yuta and Garcia to the floor. The Death Riders finally pull Mox out of the ring to free him as Cassidy, Kyle and Roddy stand tall in the ring. 

Kyle grabs a mic and yells he wants to fight Mox at Full Gear, No Holds Barred.

We then get a pre taped promo from Brodido for their match with FTR at Full Gear which comes off as pretty bland.

In the back, Kenny Omega is with Jurassic Express and he explains why the match Saturday is personal. He doesn’t care about the money, he just wants revenge. 

Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa vs Alex Windsor and Riho - Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament match

Toni and Mina have a dance routine as their ring entrance.  

Riho and Mina start the match. They lock up and Mina forces them into the ropes. They run the ropes and Mina gets a pair of drop-kicks and Riho bridges out of the pin and hits a flying cross body. They trade quick leg sweeps and pins. Alex and Toni tags in and do some shenanigans before locking up and trying to force each other down. Alex gets a one count and they then run the ropes. Toni gets an arm drag, Alex gets one as well and Alex gets a running strike before tagging in Riho.

Riho and Alex double team Toni and Riho gets a small package for two. Toni gets a backbreaker and tags in Mina. Mina and Toni double team Riho and Mina covers Riho for two. Alex gets a blind tag and she and Riho double team Alex. Toni tags in and is hit with a double suplex by Alex and Riho. Riho hits an assisted cross body on Toni and Mina on the floor as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Mina has been the babyface in peril through the break. Mina is able to get a leg trap on Alex and then a DDT on Riho in order to get the tag to Toni, who ran wild. Toni ends the sequence with a DDT and a two count on Alex. Mina is tagged back and Toni drops Mina on Alex with a tornado for two. Mina locks her legs on Alex’s and stomps her knees into the mat. 

Alex fights off a figure four and then gets a spin slam on Mina for two. Riho and Alex double team Mina for two and then Alex gets a cannonball into Toni on the floor. Riho misses a slap and Mina gets a back fist and the figure four on Riho. Riho turns the figure four over, but Toni rolls them back. Toni and Alex fight as Mina holds the figure four until Alex and Toni fall into them, breaking it up.

Riho and Mina fight until Riho gets a dragon screw for two. Mina gets a rolling elbow strike for two. Mina tags in Toni and Alex is tagged in as well and they throw hands. Alex gets a Russian leg sweep and a lariat, followed by a back slam for two. Mina hits Alex with a roundhouse kick and Toni suplexes Alex. They do the same to Riho. Mina and Toni get hip attacks on their opponents and Toni hits Storm Zero on Riho for the pin and the win.

Winners and moving on: Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa

Alicia Atout is with Mark Briscoe, Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis. Kyle says he is confident of his victory and loves it will be a no DQ match. Mark says he is tired of hearing about family since he is all about his family and he has no intentions of leaving his real family behind. Kazuchika Okada and Hechicara attack Mark and leave him laying and Okada says he was glad he could help, unlike Takeshita.

We get a pre-taped promo from Pac who says he didn’t break Darby Allin’s back, but instead he sent his charred corpse to the hospital and no one has seen Darby since. He tells Darby to answer his question and he challenges Darby to legitimate competition because without his bells and whistles, he can’t compete with Pac.

Hangman Adam Page vs Katsuyori Shibata - Non-title match

Page comes out of the crowd and attacks Shibata before he gets in the ring. Page chokes Shibata at ringside in the timekeeper’s area and then beats him up at the announcer’s desk in front of Joe.

Shibata is rolled into the ring, and gets a pump kick on Page as Page tries to get in the ring and the bell rings. Shibata runs Page into the barricade twice and then sets Page in a chair and beats him down. Page and Shibata keep fighting in the ringside area. They both roll into the ring and Page stomps down Shibata in the corner. Page runs into a big boot and Shibata lays in bows on Page’s taped back. 

Page gets a backbreaker and a lariat for two. Page covers for two. Page then jacks his jaw at Joe and Shibata attacks him from behind. Shibata suplexes Page onto the floor as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Page and Shibata throw chops back and forth until Page gets a fallaway slam. Page gets a lariat on the apron and then dives onto Shibata on the floor. Page rolls Shibata into the ring. Shibata gets a back trip and kicks Page, who grabs his foot. Page goes for a deadeye, but Shibata escapes. Shibata gets a big kick in the corner after they both try big moves and counter each other. 

Shibata sets Page on the second turnbuckle and then kicks the turnbuckle. Shibata misses a shotgun drop-kick in the corner. Shibata Page misses a lariat and Shibata gets a German suplex. Page shoves Page at the ref and gets a low blow. Shibata gets a juje gitame, but Page gets to the ropes. Shibata gets an ankle lock on Page and Page crawls to the rope for a break and is able to get the Buckshot Lariat for the pin and the win.

Winner: Hangman Adam Page
