Lots to unpack after RAW last night!
1. Boston was hot for Cena, wow! I'm sure that reaction just served to drive home the point of how much of a mistake his heel run was. Thoughts?
Even if they weren’t as rabid as they were, the heel run was a huge mistake but to your point, oh yeah, the fans showed that they just wanted to show Cena love on his last tour. They blew it when they overthought the scenario. They should have just given the people what they wanted.
2. Nikki Bella heel turn - I've always found her character very unlikeable, so this seems to be a better slot for her. But, it just seems to me like step down for Vaquer to work with her ( I've always seen Nikki's in-ring as mediocre at best ). I believe there's zero chance Bella wins their eventual match, and it just seems like a brief mini feud to pad the resume so Vaquer racks up some wins as champion. There's no drama here for me. Hopefully there are better opponents lined up once this one runs its' course. What say you?
I agree that Nikki is better as a heel, for sure. I also agree that the story they are telling is insipid and doesn’t help Vaquer at all. It makes her look like a sap to act like she was best buds with Nikki in less than a month. I think there is a spot for Nikki, for sure, but not with the champion who was really on the rise before her arrival.
3. War Games. Like most of the other gimmick PLEs, I think this one needs a hiatus and should get broken out on special occasions, not as a yearly event that just happens to occur at the same time every year. I think the men's match barely has the steam to necessitate the stipulation, and the women absolutely don't need it. The women seem like they'd benefit from a traditional elimination style match up. Thoughts?
Neither match calls for these stipulations, for sure. Here is the thing, if HHH can get back to booking the way he was before March of this year? I have no issue with it being a November staple. But this year? I agree 100 percent that it’s just been foisted on us.
4. With the women's match; do you guys feel they're just tossing Lash Legend into the deep end of the pool and skipping some booking steps here just to cram a WG match into the PLE? She's interfered in a couple of matches and made enemies for sure, but she hasn't had any one on one matches against any of the women where a personal issue of some sort has been created. She just seems to be a " hired muscle " character right now. I've criticized AEW for rushed booking, but this just screams it, for this viewer.
This was definitely rushed, 100 percent. That’s what happens when the booking isn’t good, they rush things.
