THE STATE OF WRESTLING, AEW FANS ACCEPTING REALITY, MEA CULPA S AND MORE

I have seen you criticize HHH’s booking a lot.  Have you heard from any of the people who have criticized you for never saying anything bad about WWE?

Of course not!  But, I also never expect people that say stupid things to ever own up to their stupidity.

I saw the mailbag question from the person asking 'what AEW needs to do to turn things around' and I can't help but ask when will AEW fans accept that there is no pathway for them to meaningfully compete with WWE? AEW peaked three years ago and hasn't shown any signs of changing its downward trajectory while WWE keeps chugging along, setting records and filling arenas. Can't they be happy that they get to watch wrestling they enjoy easily, in multiple formats, rather than, say, having to search for old puro/joshi matches on Dailymotion, or look up what time lucha libre is on Telemundo/Galavision (which always seemed to change week-to-week,) or *gasp* trade tapes to find the wrestling they like? Hoping that AEW will catch or surpass WWE is folly, and those wanting that will never get whatever validation they're seeking from it. Can't they just get over themselves and be happy they're getting something they enjoy, even if they're not getting what they really want?

I think that a good chunk of AEW fans probably do feel the way that you mentioned.  I think they are happy to get what they like in an easy manner.  Then there are others who will never accept that AEW and its style is the niche brand and seems destined to always be number two to WWE (unless an unforeseen change happens).  Those people that think the majority should feel the same way that they do.  They will probably never accept reality.

Is it me or does wrestling suck right now?

That is something only you can decide.  I don’t think it sucks but the WWE booking has definitely taken a big step back this year so it’s nowhere near as fun as it was.

I was watching WWE's Vault YouTube channel this past weekend and the WWE Wall Street event was uploaded. I noticed that there was a logo for WWF Racing. Did WWE have a pro racing team? If so, was it similar to WCW having a monster truck team?

No, they didn’t. It was a reference to a mobile game that they had.
