Nixon Newell aka the former Tegan Nox commented on PWInsider.com's report of her and Miranda Alize turning down the planned booking of their match against Tay Conti and Anna Jay last night on AEW Collision, writing on her social media, "Not everything you read is true. Remember that."
PWInsider.com can confirm that the pair turned down the planned booking for the match, which was to be a short bout focusing on making Conti and Jay look strong. We are told they requested more time, likely to make the bout more competitive, but were told the plans for the show were already locked into place.
When they did not get what they asked, they decided to turn down the creative and opted to leave, which we are told was "an hour before belltime."
The pair had not been signed to AEW but it is not unusual for talents to be brought in, lose initial appearances and then receive a contract and subsequent push by the company. Sky Blue, Willow Nightingale, Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs have all been examples of such a career arc within the company and there have been others.
Hyan and Maya World stepped into the match with AEW officials being appreciative of their willingness.
