Wrestling Open RI
11/3/25 Cranston, RI
Spotlight Match: Rain Conway vs Anthony Greene
Rain’s got the dog in him but AG has the benefit of years of experience. Rain has been the victim of many a squash over the last year but he gets a lot of offense in on the Alternative. Greene is still a vet and catches Raine sleeping with a ropewalk crossbody for the three! Good start for the night!
Wrestling never stops. It’s glorious madness. Denver Colorado and Rickey Shane Page are at the commentary table. Rich Palladino is our announcer.
Match 1: The Residency (RJ Rude & Rex Lawless) vs Big Business (Big Bacon Brad Hollister & TJ Crawford w/ Love Doug)
This was supposed to be a trios match but “Nick Robles is on tour with Metallica”. Uh huh. RJ weasels out of starting the match with TJ…which puts Him right in the crosshairs of Big Bacon. It’s going real bad for the Residency. TJ accidentally gets the ref’s attention and a Rex blindside gets RJ out of danger. Bacon eats a long of damage But he finally rolls away from a moonsault, getting TJ in there to cause havoc. Rex tries to get TJ down but he ends up posted and Bacon hits the deadlift tornado jackhammer on the big man! RJ hits a moonsault…TJ in there, he whips RJ and KO’s him with a Fancy Dropkick for the three!
TJ on the mic. He hates Ryan Clancy. He wants to take everything from him. The IWTV title. His very career. But Big Bacon also wants to go for the tag team titles. TJ offers his services for that as well. Bacon doesn’t seem to know which member of Big Business will be his partner for the challenge but he’ll decide this Thursday in Worcester. It seems VERY likely that it might be Love Doug. How will TJ react if he doesn’t get picked?
Match 2: Airica Demia vs Shannon LaVangie (w/ Liviyah)
Earlier, it was announced that Liviyah will be out of action for a few weeks due to the injury she suffered at Open 200. Shannon calls this bittersweet but she’s excited to have Liv in her corner. Liv on the mic says this is a bump in the road and she will be back. Demia kind of sulks in the corner while Liv is talking. She says that Gabby was the first person to see her in the hospital and she thanks her for that. Anyways, we have a match! Demia heeling it up because she had to wait. Shannon on the receiving end of some boots and hard hits to the spine. Shannon seems to wake up after she gets pulled off the top rope face first into the buckles. Demia starts taunting Liv but Shannon is alive and throwing forearms and lariats. Two big boots stagger Airica as she eats the three following a swinging neckbreaker!
Match 3: Shooter Boys (Anthony Vecchio & Aaron Ortiz) vs Simply the Best (BRG & Oxx Adams) (non-title match)
BRG is furious that Brando Lee held his rights to get the win in the Eliminator Cup Opening Round. He wants retribution. He’s getting a chance to beat the reigning Open tag champs! BRG tags Oxx in immediately to fight the much smaller Shooter Boys. Oxx does a lot and tags BRG in and the Shooter Boys take the advantage right back. Oxx has to blindside Vecchio and slam him to the apron to get StB going in the right direction. That’s the trouble Vecchio is in…caught between the frequent tags and the big shots of a giant. Ortiz finally gets the tag! Oxx dropkicked off the apron! Adams gets back in there to slap down a northern lights pin! BRG loses his cool entirely and won’t stop punching his opponents. Shooter Boys are fired up and fighting back. Ref Scott gets shoved to the side and he immediately declares this a no contest. BRG and Oxx look to keep fighting but Star Struck runs down to help the champs.
Ortiz on the mic. They thank Star Struck. They want a rematch with Simply the Best. Next week! Channing and Green have some words too…they would LOVE to step in the ring with the Shooter Boys. Vecchio says they have to get through StB…but after that? “We’ll see you soon”
But Channing has a match now. Oh noooo it’s….
Match 4: Ray Jaz vs Channing Thomas (w/ Anthony Greene)
Jaz starts this with some classic wrestling, going hold for hold with Thomas while the crowd chants “Meat Sweats” at him. Channing is doing great but he gets baited into posting himself in the corner. Jaz targets that shoulder immediately. Channing fighting back but Jaz is overwhelming him. A huge German & A famouser doesn’t end it. Jaz goes for an ankle lock! Channing flips free. Hard boot in the corner and he spikes Jaz with a piledriver to get the win! I love Channing and even though I have had a semi-comical hate for Ray Jaz over the years, it’s nice to see him here a little more regularly.
Match 5: Julius Draeger vs Ichiban (w/ Brando Lee)
It’s Draeger’s birthday today. We hope it’s a bad ONE. Ichiban gets rolling early but Draeger rips him off the ropes with aggression. He starts to bully Ichi…and gets deposited crotch first into the top rope. He is HURTING and catches a flying Ichiban into a spinebuster. He’s using the pain as fuel as he stomps and chops the hell out of the former Open champ. Ichiban won’t quit and Draeger is getting VERY frustrated. Draeger tossed to the floor and A dive to the outside sets up the end which comes by way of an Ichi Bankai for the three. This was fun…and maybe Draeger deserves some birthday praise for hanging with our number one.
Main Event: Miracle Generation (Dustin Waller & Kylon King) vs The Vibe (Sammy Diaz & Mani Ariez) (Eliminator Cup Semi Final)
MG demand they be announced as “the reason Wrestling Open has the best tag team wrestling on the independents”. The Vibe may be a newer tandem…but they are more than willing to dance with the two time Eliminator Cup winners. Diaz and Mani are the doing so well that Dustin goes to the bag of dirty tricks and trips up Mani to give King the advantage. Mani gets out of there and Sammy starts to meet the same shenanigans from Miracle Generation. Sammy finally breaks away to a recovered Ariez! Mani bowling MG over! Huge gutwrench sitout bomb to Kylon for two! Dustin grabs the leg before Mani can come off the top! The Powerplex connects…but Sammy comes down on Kylon with a splash! AA/Splash combo from the vibe but King makes the save for Dusty!!! Everyone is wobbled. 15 min are through. Only 5 to go! What happens if we get a time limit draw?!? Both teams brawling on the ropes! Superkicks abound! Dustin with a cutter to Mani! Kylon flies down on Sammy at ringside! Splash and moonsault to Mani! Ariez kicks out!!! They try a double running knee…Sammy with the save! Mani can’t secure the rollup! The vibe going for the finish! Dustin intercepts! Chasing the Dragon to Mani! Powerplex to Mani! That’s the three. What a battle! This match was bonkers, I loved it.
Dustin on the mic, running down the crowd for forgetting their spot on the Mount Rushmore of Wrestling Open. Ichiban and Brando Lee are out here to face them down. These are your Eliminator Cup finalists and they couldn’t be more heated. They brawl into the crowd! MG runs for cover and try to beg off in the beg…before hitting stereo low blows on the Mythical Ones. They put a cherry on the beatdown with running double knees to the back of Ichiban’s head. Are Miracle Generation about to claim their THIRD Eliminator Cup? We’ll find out NEXT WEEK!
