11/5 AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2025-11-05 22:26:00

AEW Dynamite is live in Houston, TX at the Bayou Music Center. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Bryan Danielson.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring for a Big Announcement. There will be a new national champion, and he is interrupted by Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and Powerhouse Hobbs. He’s got a problem with Tony, and he says the idea that Tony had nothing to do with Adam Page attacking him is hard to believe. He tells Tony to shut up and there are consequences of the action people engage in and consequences have come for him. Joe and the Opps get into the ring and Security surround Tony.

Adam Page runs to the ring and as Joe says this could not have worked out better so they can take care of two problems at once. Hook and Eddie Kingston run to the ring and we have a face off before tonight’s main event.

Page says he understands Joe’s confusion, and he is not Tony, but tonight he will beat Joe’s ass. Hook then tells the Opps to put the Trios titles on the line tonight. Joe starts raving and says the titles are on the line later tonight.

I guess Tony didn’t get to tell us that we are going to get the AEW Canadian Championship.

Excalibur runs down the card for tonight.

Orange Cassidy vs Claudio Castagnoli - Blood and Guts Advantage battle

Cassidy dives onto Claudio before the match and then they brawl around the ring. Claudio tosses Cassidy into the ring. When Claudio tries to get into the ring, Cassidy slams his head into the turnbuckles until Claudio tosses Cassidy into the ropes.

And the bell rings. Claudio gets an uppercut and when Cassidy dives onto him, Claudio gets a vertical hold on Cassidy and carries him around the ring, dropping him on the barricade. Claudio picks him up again and walks him into the ring, tossing Cassidy into the ring. Claudio gets another vertical hold and Cassidy is able to move his way down, and locks on a rear naked choke. Claudio starts spinning and Cassidy refuses to give up the hold. Claudio sinks to a knee, but works back to his feet and turns it into a giant swing. He releases Cassidy as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Claudio gets a snap suplex after Cassidy goes for pockets. Claudio follows up with a gut wrench picking up Cassidy off the mat. Cassidy batters Cassidy with a ton of blows in the corner. Cassidy sits up and goes to pockets. He gets a hurricanrana, and then a drop-kick off the ropes. Renee Paquette is with Mark Briscoe, Kyle Fletcher and Don Callis. Mark says he wants an answer from Kyle about his request for a rematch because Kyle won with a low blow. Mark says for his challenge, he wants No DQ. Don and Kyle say it sounds good to them. Don asks for something from Mark, if Mark loses, he has to become part of the Dan Callis Family. Mark agrees, and we’ve got our match.

Still waiting on Tony Schiavone to announce the AEW Canadian Championship.

The Young Bucks, Don Callis and Josh Alexander are with Renee, and she asks if they are part of the Don Callis Family. Don cuts her off and asks if the Bucks liked the Escalade from the airport, the package under the seat and then tells them to talk to Okada about joining the Family. Okada tells the Bucks not to take too much time.

Mercedes Mone and Athena vs Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale - Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament

Athena and Mone attack before the bell and once we have the bell, Mone is beating down Harley. They double-team Harley and work her over in their corner. Eventually, Harley gets a backdrop suplex on Mone and gets the hot tag to Willow, who cleans house. She tags Harley back in after a double drop-kick on Mone and Athena. Willow gets a side slam on Mone and then slams Harley onto Mone for two, broken up by Athena.

Harley tags in and Athena picks them both up with a fallaway slam and covers Harley for two. Athena calls out Billie Starkz with the Ring of Honor belt, but Kris Statlinder drops Billie to stop her from handing off the belt.

Harley gets Her Finishing Move for the pin and the win on Athena.

Winners: Harley Cameron and Willow Nightingale who move on in the tournament

Super overbooked match, and we didn’t need Harley as the babyface in peril so many times.

Tony announced there will be a casino gauntlet match for the AEW National Championship at Full Gear. It’s been 40 years since the National Championship on TBS. He then brings out The Hurt Syndicate, who are in the casino gauntlet match.

And I didn’t even get to joke about the America’s championship, the Cruiserweight tag team championship, or the World Martial Arts Championship.

He asks MVP about how interesting it is that they may get Bobby Lashley vs Shelton Benjamin. MVP goes over people who held the original National Championship. MVP says the championship is theirs, and they will do what is best for business.

This brings out the worst named faction in AEW: The Demand. Ricochet heels the local sports team and then says he wants to give the Hurt Syndicate the credit they deserve for hobbling their old asses to the ring every week. He then says he always spouts facts and he is telling people “I told you so”. He says he will still do anything he has to in order to make sure the Hurt Syndicate never wins gold.

MVP says the only thing they have ever done well is get their asses beat by the Hurt Syndicate.

Nice setup for the match.

We get a backstage promo from Jack Perry who says something is more important than money, and that’s friendship, and he takes a hunting knife and stabs a $100 bill into a table for them.

Darby Allin vs Daniel Garcia - Blood and Guts advantage match

They move to mat work quickly and then to waistlocks. Darby gets a strong headlock takedown for two. They work to their feet and Garcia breaks free by pulling Darby’s ear. Garcia stomps Darby down in the corner. Garcia pulls off the turnbuckle guard and tries to choke him with it. They fight to the top and Darby shoves Garcia’s arm into the ringpost and pummels it. He then dives onto Garcia on the floor.

They brawl around the ring. Darby rolls Garcia into the ring and Garcia trolls to the floor. Darby follows and Garcia traps Darby in the ring skirt and keeps up the attack. Darby is whipped into the ring steps as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Darby is whipped to the corner and is on the apron. He gets a shoulder thirst and then Darby gets a guillotine choke and Garcia reverses it. They go back and forth with the hold until Darby flips over for a two count. They fight into the corner and Garcia gets a choke, holding Darby in the air. Garcia puts Darby on the top and joins him. Garcia gets a superplex for two. Darby turns it into a Scorpion Death Drop and both men are down.

Darby goes to the top and Garcia knocks him off the top to the floor. Garcia follows him to the floor and puts Darby's head between the steel steps and the ring. He then drop-kicks the steel steps.

Do not do what Darby Allin Do.

Garcia gets into the ring for the referee to count. As Garcia distracts the ref, Yuta hits Darby with a clothesline. The ref starts the count again and Darby gets into the ring a little after 9. Darby is busted open in the back of his head. Garcia beats Darby down and locks in a Dragon Tamer, giving a Sting Like Whoo. Darby crawls to the ropes, but Garcia drags him back. Darby rolls through and gets the Scorpion Death Lock and Garcia has to tap out.

Winner: Darby Allin

Pac attacks right after the bell rings and Darby starts fighting back. Orange Cassidy hits the ring to beat down Pac. Yuta hits Cassidy with a psycho knee and this brings out both teams for next week’s Blood and Guts to hit the ring and brawl. Eventually Roderick Strong helps clear the ring as the Conglomeration holds the ring and the Death Riders take off.

FTR comes to the ring with something to say. Cash Hardwood starts by saying they won the right to be the number one contenders for the tag team championship but they should have been three times champions, but Brodie took it away from them in London, so he calls out Brodido.

Backstage, we see Stokley has barricaded Brodido in their dressing room.

Dax says he is upset they can’t come to the ring and instead introduces Bandido’s family and speaks to them in butchered Spanish. He then mocks Bandido’s grandmother. She smacks him and Bandido’s brother attacks Dax. FTR beat him down as, in the back, Brody King breaks through the door and attacks Stokely. Stokely runs to the ring, followed quickly by Brody and Bandido, and FTR take off through the crowd.

Mina Shirakawa vs Megan Bayne w/Penelope Ford - Blood and Guts advantage match

Toni Storm joins commentary. We are told Queen Aminata is injured, so Mina will be taking her place in the women’s Blood and Guts match.

Megan pie faces Mina before the lock-up and Megan forces them into the ropes. Mina throws hands and then charges at Megan, who drops her for two. Mine is able to escape Megan’s pick-up and gets a roundhouse kick and then a leaping drop-kick, and Megan falls to the floor Mina dives onto her. Mina goes to the top and hits a flying crossbody to the floor. Mine goes to the top and Megan joins her there. Megan gets a fallaway slam from the second turnbuckle as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Mina avoids a charge from Megan in the corner and then trips Megan in the ropes before hitting a tornado for one. Mina gets a rolling elbow strike and Megan is able to grab Mina and drive her down, followed by a German suplex. They move to the apron and trade blows. Mina gets a snap suplex on the apron and rolls Megan into the ring.

Mina goes to the top and Megan joins her there and hits a superplex. Mina reverses a slam and runs Megan into the turnbuckle. Mine goes to the top for a sling blade for two. As Mina is setting for the glamorous driver, Marina Shafir attacks Toni at the announcer’s table. Megan turns the tables and then gets the running Liger bomb on Mina for the pin and the win.

Winner: Megan Bayne

And we get another locker room clearing brawl with everyone in next week’s Blood and Guts match. Toni Storm’s team gets the upper hand and drives off the other team.

As Hook and Kingston come out with Page as Page’s theme plays, we aren’t punished by Hook’s ring music this week.

The Opps (Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, and Powerhouse Hobbs) AEW Trios Champions vs Adam Page, Hook, and Eddie Kingston

Joe and Page start the match and Joe tags out to Shibata before they lock up. Page and Shibata throw hands. They move to kicks and Page gets a leg lariat takedown. He beats down Shibata in the corner. Shibata gets a running boot in the corner and when he goes for another, Page gets a big clothesline for two. Page tags in Hook who gets a Northern lights suplex with a bridge for two. Shibata lays in kicks and tags in Hobbs.

Hook dodges a strike and throws hands, but Hobbs grabs him and gets a backbreaker across his knee. Hook dodges a charge in the corner and gets a suplex on Hobbs as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Eddie Kingston has been the babyface in peril with Hook out on the floor. Joe misses a senton and Eddie crawls to his corner for the tag to Page. Page runs wild. Page ends the sequence when Page gets a moonsault from the top onto Hobbs for two. Page gets a rolling elbow strike on Hobbs and dives onto Shibata. This leads to everyone getting a big move on the last person in the ring, ending with Hobbs and Page brawling up the ramp.

Hobbs slams Page through a table on the floor from the stage. Eddie is the last man standing on his team. Joe and Shibata throw hands, and he dodges, making Shibata accidentally nail Joe. Eddie gets an exploder on Shibata. Hobbs drives Eddie into the corner, and Hook is tagged in. Hobbs gets a torture rack on Hook, and Hook has to tap out.

Winners and still Trio Champions: The Opps
