Bandido appeared on Take Five with Milli Olivarez this afternoon to promote tomorrow's AEW Dynamite taping.
“I feel amazing,” he told Olivarez, thanking the Valley for the warm welcome and calling his time there “a fabulous experience.”
Bandido shared how his wrestling journey began early. Growing up in Tula, Mexico, he was a wrestling fan from the age of five or six. By 14, he was already training in the ring. “When I finally got my opportunity to train, I never quit again,” he said with a smile.
Olivarez noted the toughness of the sport, pointing out the physical toll of wrestling. Bandido agreed, saying that passion for the craft keeps him going.
Discussing the upcoming AEW Fright Night, Bandido promised fans a show packed with “good storytelling” and “high-flyer wrestlers” — including fellow Mexican luchadores like Komander. He called it a “family-friendly show” and encouraged everyone in the Valley to come enjoy it together.
This was Bandido’s second visit to the Rio Grande Valley, his first being years ago in Las Olga. When asked about his most memorable match, he recalled a career-defining moment: ALL IN in Chicago, where he teamed with Rey Fenix and Rey Mysterio against The Young Bucks and Kota Ibushi. “After that night, my life changed,” he reflected.
Bandido also spoke about his partnership with Brody King, whom he affectionately calls his “little brother” despite King’s towering size. Together, they hold the World Tag Team Championship.
Tomorrow night, Bandido will defend his ROH title in a rematch against Máscara Dorada. He sent a respectful message to his opponent: “Let’s do an amazing match for all the people… I don’t wanna lose the belt, so I will put my soul in the ring.”
To young fans who dream of stepping into the ring, Bandido shared simple but powerful advice, "As Brody says — never stop fighting. Keep fighting all your life.”
He closed by inviting everyone to join him at the Bert Ogden Arena.
