It’s Wednesday, and AEW Dynamite is live from the Cable Dahmer Arena in Kansas City, MO, and our commentary team is Excalibur, Bryan Danielson, and Tony Schiavone, as Taz had shoulder surgery today.
Renee Paquette is backstage with Kris Statlander and Toni Storm, who are taking off clothes to show their wrestling gear. Toni says that without the Women’s World Championship, she is nothing. Kris says that Toni has let the loss cause her to lose herself, but Toni can’t figure out who Kris is because she’s always evolving.
Kris talks like a mix between her old space woman persona and a tough woman. They go face to face, and when they do, Toni asks if the interview is over, and when Renee says yes, she tells Kris to meet her in the ring.
They charge to the ring and throw hands. Kris gets a Death Valley Driver, and then Toni gets on her knees to give Kris a free shot. Kris pulls her up, and Toni gives her a headbutt and then a German suplex. Kris drops to her knees to give Toni a free shot, and Toni is holding the belt. She gets ready to nail her with it and instead hands the belt to Kris and leaves.
In the back, Jack Perry is whittling and says he doesn’t hate the Young Bucks. In fact, he loves them, but when he needed them most, they didn’t pick up the phone or have his back. He says he had to look deep into his past to find someone who would, and we then see Luchasaurus.

We then see a hype video for Jon Moxley vs Darby Allin’s match on Saturday.
They then talk to each other through what looks like a prison visiting center so they can’t attack each other. Mox says that there was no chance Darby would put him in a coffin, but now Darby will never quit. Mox says he won’t quit, so what do they do? He tells Darby it’s never too late to back out and join the Death Riders.
Darby says he understands the cause, but he doesn’t respect Mox because of what he did to Bryan Danielson. Mox says he did the best he could for Danielson, and this is a war for the future. Hard decisions have to be made, and that’s not hard for him. No one knows what weight he has on his shoulders. Darby says that AEW represents freedom, and Mox is chipping away at what makes AEW special.
Darby says when Mox says “I quit,” the whole operation he’s running will crumble. Mox says he has never lied to him, and Darby’s opponent isn’t him—Darby is fighting ghosts of his past. Darby is playing a selfish game, and Mox is not selfish. Mox says it is not about him. Pac then shows up on Darby's side and beats him down brutally.
I’m sorry, after over a year, I still don’t get Jon Moxley’s gimmick. His promos are supposed to be deep and meaningful, but they just seem pretentious and confusing.
We then see the Death Riders show up in the parking lot.
