THE WWE CROWN JEWEL: PERTH TIP SHEET

By Dave Scherer, Mike Johnson & Richard Trionfo on 2025-10-09 22:14:00

WWE will present Crown Jewel this Saturday on ESPN Unlimited and Netflix from Perth, Australia with an 8:00 AM Eastern start time for the show.  Here is what we think will happen.

Men's Crown Jewel Championship Match:  Seth Rollins vs Cody Rhodes

Dave: I hate these matches.  Why WWE wants to have one champ beat another champ, I just don't get it.  Going off of what they did on Monday, Seth SHOULD come out with the win, especially when Netflix means more to them than NBCU does at the moment.

Mike: The timing of this is rough as Seth shouldn't be losing anytime this soon after he won the World title,  Ditto Cody.  Perhaps Punk and LA Knight get involved and that distracted Seth and Cody gets the win.

Richard: Cody is 3-0 against Seth since he returned.  Seth has said that he needs to win this match and Paul has told him how everything he has done will mean nothing if he loses.  This should mean that Seth wins the match.  I hope there is no interference in this match, but I could see it happen.  It makes more sense for Seth to win the match, but I almost want Seth to lose to see how unhinged he is on Monday, and maybe changes his character a bit.  Cody gets a second ring.

Women's Crown Jewel Championship Match:  Stephanie Vaquer vs Tiffany Stratton

Dave: Usually I expect to see one winner from each brand but to me, Vaquer should go over here.  She's the new champ and Tiffany is the longer reigning champ.  Plus, Netflix!

Mike: Dave nails it.  Vaquer should be going over.

Richard:  This is the match I am most concerned about because of Tiffany's last few matches.  She will have Stephanie to dictate the pace of the match so that should not be a problem.  If Tiffany doesn't try to get too fancy in the match, it will mean the match will be better.  Vaquer is on a great run and I don't think it stops on Saturday.  I wonder how these two will work together on Smackdown.  I think Tiffany has a strong performance, but she will fall short against Stephanie.

Australian Street Fight:  Roman Reigns vs Bronson Reed

Dave: Bronson has to go over here.  With the stip they can get us there and keep Roman strong, not that he really needs to be kept strong.

Mike: This should be a fun brawl.  The reality is if they want to make a moment, it should be Bronson shocking the world with a win in his home country.

Richard: With this being a street fight, it means we will see Bron Breakker at some point during this match.  It also means we will probably see Jimmy and Jey.  Originally, I was going to say that Reed should win this match, but after doing the preview audio with Bob, he convinced me that Roman should win, even though Reed is from Australia.  I hope there isn't a lot of interference, but if this match is going to set up War Games, we have 6 weeks to build it.  With the problems arising among the Usos and Roman, will Jimmy be the one to neutralize Bron or will it be Jey?  What will happen on Monday night when they discuss what happened in Roman's promo?  Roman hits the spear to win the match after Reed misses a Tsunami.

John Cena vs AJ Styles

Dave: They have screwed up enough with Cena, put him over.  Just put him over, give the fans what they want.

Mike: Cena wins after a lot of near falls.

Richard:  This is a match that defies 2025 wrestling logic.  It is a match between two people with no current storyline or reason to be wrestling, but when you have someone at the end of his career and the other person in the twilight of his career, why not let them fight because they want to.  Without any 'future ramifications' for this match, it gives both men the opportunity to leave everything in the ring at the end of the night.  If Cena wins, does he do it with a Styles Clash or will he pull out the Phenomenal Forearm.  There is one person who is not in this match, who I think can have a future impact on both men, and his name is Dominik Mysterio.  Does he get involved in the match to mess with AJ since he has a future tag title match?  Will he do something with Cena to try to show that he is the 'greatest luchadore' and can beat the 'greatest' (It isn't like Survivor Series isn't in San Diego, where someone is from).  I would expect Cena to win after that match against Brock, but an AJ win would give him some momentum.

Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley vs Asuka and Kairi Sane

Dave: If Rhea's team doesn't go over here HHH has lost his damn mind.

Mike: I expect a DQ courtesy of the mist.

Richard:  This match seemed destined for this show since Rhea is Australian and you aren't keeping her off this show.  This match was also expected with the way that Asuka has been acting like a disappointed mother toward Iyo and a controlling mother to Kairi.  Iyo doesn't appear to trust Asuka any more and she has accepted what Rhea has told her.  Rhea is not going to hold back in front of the home crowd.  I think there will be a few times when they will tease Iyo turning on Rhea, but it won't happen.  Rhea pins Sane in a match that could steal the show.
