The Opera Cup, the oldest tournament in professional wrestling with roots dating back to the 19th century, has long carried a tradition of excellence and opportunity. That tradition continues this weekend with a dramatic turn of events.
MLW officials confirmed that Zandokan Jr. has suffered a knee injury and has been placed on the injured list, forcing his withdrawal from the Opera Cup. In keeping with the Cup’s heritage, alternates are designated to ensure the tournament continues at the highest level of competition.
MLW President Cesar Duran has activated Star Jr. as the alternate to replace Zandokan Jr. A standout in CMLL, Star Jr. enters the Opera Cup fresh, healthy, and amid a career-defining year in Mexico.
