A filing today in court records for Game Changer Wrestling vs. Kevin Gill lawsuit noted that the two sides intend to complete discovery, where each side informs the other on the material they intend to present to the court, will be completed by 1/31/26, as long as the court approves that timeline.
The filing today noted, "The parties had hoped to resolve their differences at the September 16, 2025 mediation, but having failed to do so, seek the new deadline..."
Gill alleged in a lawsuit filed on 11/21/24 before the United States District Court of New Jersey that he and GCW owner Brett Lauderdale agreed to launch a Patreon on behalf of the promotion, which officially went live in May 2020. As part of the agreement, Gill says he was to receive 20% of the Patreon’s revenue. In the lawsuit, Gill alleged that he was underpaid during the early months of the Patreon operation and that payments ceased entirely in September 2020. He further claimed that his contract with the company was terminated without cause in October 2022 when he learned his access to the Patreon account was removed.
Gill alleged that he has not been properly compensated for his contributions. The lawsuit also states that the termination damaged Gill's reputation and hindered his ability to find other work. Gill asserts that he is owed "well in excess of $150,000."
Gill claimed he was ready and willing to continue fulfilling his duties, but was blocked from doing so by GCW owner Brett "Lauderdale" Hoffman, despite the fact that Lauderdale allegedly "never expressed dissatisfaction" with Gill's work. When Gill allegedly asked for his portion of the money made by the Patreon, Lauderdale agreed to a partial payment of $3,975.63 in November 2022 as the remaining balance was determined. Gill turned down the settlement, feeling it was less than a third of what he believed he was truly owed. Gill is claiming that GCW profited and continued to profit from his work without honoring their agreement for his percentage.
Obviously, GCW has denied all of this in their responses to the lawsuit.
