9/24 AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2025-09-24 22:14:00

It’s Wednesday and AEW Dynamite is live from the Peterson Event Center in Pittsburg, PA. and our commentary team is Excalibur, Bryan Danielson, and Taz.

Excalibur gives us the rundown of tonight’s card, and no hint of the Big Announcement by Tony Khan, and I am hoping it’s that Glacier is All Elite.

We get a pretaped promo from Adam Page who says that Kyle Fletcher took him to his limit and he hopes Kyle will continue to get better, and tonight he asked for the best wrestler in Pittsburg, and he will be in the ring against Lee Moriarty.

Brodido (Bandido and Brody King) AEW Tag Team Champions vs GOA (Toa Leona and Bishop Kaun)

Ricochet joins commentary

Bandido goes against Toa, who would rather face Brody. Bandido lays in chops and Toa ignores it. Bandido tries to lift Toa, who lifts him instead. Bandido escapes out the back and gets in drop-kick. Kaun tags in as Toa stops Bandido and Bandido tries the same thing. Kaun chops Bandido once and Bandido is dropped. They run the ropes and Bandido picks up Kaun, but Kaun escapes and punches Bandido and hits a splash in the corner followed by a suplex. Kaun puts a boot on the chest for one.

Kaun slams Bandido and takes in Toa, who also slams Bandido. They take turns slamming him until Bandido escapes and tags in Brody, who cleans house. Brody puts Kaun on the top and Kaun drops him to the mat as Toa gets a running shoulder. Kaun gets a back stabber and Toa leaps from the top with a headbutt and Kaun covers for two as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Brody has been the babyface in peril through the break. When Brody tags in Bandido, he is able to lay in shops and fight off both members of GOA. Bandido dodges strikes from Toa and then hits a drop-kick in the corner. Bandido then is able to press slam Kaun into Toa in the corner. Bandido gets a two count. Bandido tries for a 21 plex, and GOA is able to block it and take over by double-teaming Bandido.

As they are working Bandido on the top, Brody is able to grab both of them for a double back body drop. Brody works over Toa on the floor, and in the ring, Bandido misses a frog splash on Kaun. As Brody is tossed over the barricade, Ricochet grabs a chair and hits the ring when the ref is checking on Brody.

The ref sees Ricochet with a chair and he…is…out here!

Bandido gets a surprise rollup on Kaun for two. Kaun gets a big lariat on Bandido and then GOA gets him with a double slam for two, broken up by Brody, who knocks Toa to the outside. Bandido gets a 21 plex on Kaun for the pin and the win.

Winners and still AEW Tag Team Champions: Brodido

Alicia Atout is with the Conglomeration, and Mark Briscoe says they are going to whip some Don Callis Family ass, and the word of the day is Mystery, so his two partners tonight are a mystery. He then said to himself “Orange you glad you have so many friends.”

We then get a tease for Hologram’s evil clone.

Renee Paquette is with Kris Stadtlander and Harley shows up to put over Kris in his own way. Kris says she’s beat up, but she is a fighting champion, and will be fighting Mina Shirakawa tonight to show that. Renee asks about her connection to the Death Riders and Kris says things move pretty fast once you make a decision.

Hangman Adam Page (AEW World Champion) vs Lee Moriarty

They shake hands to start, then they lock up and move to arm bars and Lee works his way free. Lee gets a side headlock takeover and they mat wrestle back and forth. They go for a knuckle lock and Page forces them to the corner, but Lee forces them back to the middle of the ring. Page forces Lee down and Lee bridges back up. They move to arm bars and chain wrestling. They break again.

Lee grabs a side headlock and then they run the ropes with Page getting a shoulder tackle. They run the ropes again and Page gets a body slam and follows with a big boot as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Lee is laying chops against the ropes. He then snaps Page’s neck backward over the top rope and then springboards into a cover for two. Lee gets a pair of big boots and Page follows up with right hands and a back body drop. Page gets a fallaway slam and follows with a Death Valley Driver for two. Lee gets a jawbreaker and then goes to the top. Page grabs him and sets for a deadeye, but Lee turns it into an octopus and slides down for a cover for two. Lee gets the Border City Stretch and Page rolls back and gives Lee a huge lariat. Page hits Deadeye for the pin and the win.

Winner and still; AEW World Champion: Adam Page

We then get a video from Cope and Cage after the match at All Out. Cope says he can’t keep doing this because it is affecting his family, so he has to go and doesn’t know if he will come back. Cage says he doesn’t have a family any more, so Cope needs to take care of his. Cope says Cage does have a family and shakes Cage’s hand.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring to speak to FTR and Stoke and they come to the ring. The crowd is booing, and Cash Wheeler says they deserve that. He says he has had trouble sleeping at night because he just wanted Cope and Cage into the sunset, but Cope brought his wife into FTR’s business, so it is Cope's fault.

Stoke says he forgives Beth Copeland for what she did to him, and at Church, they had a discussion, and he was not running up the ramp to attack Beth, he was running up the ramp to greet her. He allowed Beth to spear him out of chivalry.

Dax Harwood says he was advised to apologize for his actions on Saturday. He will not apologize for dropping Cope or Cage on their heads, but he would not purposely hurt Beth, But she punched him in his broken nose and he couldn’t see and picked her up and dropped her on her head by accident.

Willow Nightingale interrupts them and says it was a great apology and if they wrestled as good as they lie, they might have won at All Out. She isn’t here to talk about them, she is here to talk about Beth Copeland, and puts Beth over and says she is why Willow became a wrestler. Women like Beth are why she doesn’t take crap from men like them. She tells them to try their apology with more sincerity or leave the ring.

Stokley mocks her and Willow slaps him. When FTR starts to get in her face, JetSpeed gets in the ring to break it up. FTR turns to leave but when they try to sneak attack JetSpeed kick them out of the ring.

We then get video of MJF after the match Saturday night, and he is angry, but doesn’t have the energy to yell anymore. Not long ago, he was The Man, but Adam Cole came into his life and broke his heart. MJF has lost everything, and while he has accomplished more than anything anyone else could have done. He has made so many mistakes trying to snap out of it, and he cannot come back until he looks in the mirror and doesn’t see a fraud. He will not come back until he is the most dangerous he has ever been.

Excellent promo from MJF here.

Don Callis says he has been painting for the last week, and it is so big it has to be rolled out. They roll out the painting onto the stage, and the cover is pulled off.  Their painting is gone and it is Orange Cassidy in the frame.

He comes to the ring and dodges Takeshita and Okada and then drop-kicks both of them.

Kazuchika Okada, Hechicero, and Kanosuke Takeshita w/Lance Archer and Rocky Romero vs Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, and Hologram

Don Callis joins commentary.

Mark clears the ring and Orange Cassidy dives onto them as the bell finally rings. Mark gives Hechicero ten in the corner and Hologram is tagged in. Hologram gives ten in the corner as well. Cassidy tags in and gives one in the corner. Hologram is tagged in and he runs the ropes with Hechicero. Hologram gets on Hechicero’s shoulders, and gets a casadora arm drag. He gets a second arm drag. Hechicero gets a running knee strike in the corner and then a reverse monkey flip into a rear choke. Hechicero picks Hologram up and gets a spinning cutter as we go to picture in picture.

Still no announcement, so I can keep hoping it will be Knuckleball Schwartz.

When we return to full screen, Hologram has been the babyface in peril through the break. Hechicero is working over one of Hologram’s legs. Hologram finally dodges an attack by Okada and Briscoe is tagged in and cleans house. Briscoe ends his flurry with a fisherman’s buster for two. Briscoe gets a clothesline and dives for the tag to Cassidy. Cassidy and Okada hug. Cassidy runs the ropes and gets a Stundog Millionaire. It’s then time for everyone to get taken sout by Okada and Takeshita.

Cassidy gives the soft kicks to Okada and Takeshita and then a double hurricanrana to them at the same time. It's then time for each person to get a big move on the last person in the ring. Cassidy gets an Orange Punch on Hechicaro and Hologram hits a portal bomb for the pin and the win.

Winners: Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, and Hologram

Kyle Fletcher comes to the stage after the match and he says he proved he belongs in the main event and the top of the industry and he will be ready very soon. He is still a future world champion. He said Page was right about one thing, the next morning was the worst of his entire life, but then he looked in the mirror and remembered who he is. He is the greatest TNT champion of all time. He looks in the ring and sees a bunch of dorks.

He challenges Hologram to a match as he has the longest undefeated streak of any man in AEW history to be the first man to pin him in an AEW ring at next week’s six-year anniversary show.

Kyle’s “Say my full name” closer has yet to resonate. Sorry.

Mina Shirakawa is with Renee, and Mina says she hasn’t heard from Toni Storm since Saturday. Mina says Kris will get all of MIna tonight as Mina fights for Toni and for Mina.

We then get the video for the return of Jurassic Express.

Hobbs gets a series of headbutts after they throw hands on the floor. Hobbs charges at Claudio and runs into the steel steps when Claudio dodges.

Claudio suplexes Hobbs on the barricade and into the crowd. Claudio suplexes him on the barricade again into the ringside area as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Claudio has been in control through the break and gets a gut wrench suplex for two. Claudio gives mocking kicks as Hobbs gets to his feet and they go back to throwing hands. Hobbs grabs Claudio’s arm and batters him into the corner. Hobbs whips Claudio to the corner and follows with a clothesline. Hobbs misses when trying a second time and Claudio puts Hobbs on the top. Claudio gets an avalanche suplex from the second turnbuckle for two.

Claudio lays in uppercuts and a back elbow. He goes for a neutralizer, but Hobbs turns it into a back body drop followed by a power slam. Hobbs gets a clothesline in the corner and a clothesline out of the corner. Hobbs gets a series of scoop slams again. Claudio finally blocks on and Claudio batters Hobbs to the corner. Claudio tries a clothesline and Hobbs doesn’t move. Hobbs comes off the ropes with a shoulder tackle and then a scoop slam.

Pac shows and gets on the apron, and while Hobbs is dealing with him, Claudio gets a running uppercut and a rollout for the pin and the win.

Winner: Claudio Castagnoli.

Samoa Joe comes from the back and charges at Pac who takes off through the crowd. Hobbs then knocks Claudio out of the ring right in from Joe. Wheeler Yuta and Daniel Garcia hit the ring as Pac comes back and Claudio joins in. Adam Page comes from the back to help them turn the tide.

Mina goes to the top and hits a sling blade from the* two for two. Mina gets a pair of big kicks and Kris is able to pick up Mina. Mina is able to escape and grab a figure four. Kris gets to the ropes for the break.
