WWE Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda will be releasing a memoir, co-authored by the great Ian Douglass, Douglass announced today during an interview with PWInsiderElite.com.
Douglass stated the writing process has already been completed and the book will be released once he and Rotunda map out their plans.
Rotunda, a standout collegiate wrestler for The University of Syracuse, wrestled under his name (sometimes spelled Rotundo) as well as under short runs inder the guises of Michael Wallstreet and VK Wallstreet in WCW. Rotunda and Barry Windham teamed as the U.S. Express in the 1980s, winning several WWF Tag Team Titles and worked the first Wrestlemania event. In the 1990s, he worked for the WWF as Irwin R. Shyster. As IRS, he and Ted DiBiase were three-time WWF Tag Team Champions and faced Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake at Wrestlemania IX.
In the NWA, he had a long run as NWA World Television Champion as part of The Varsity Club with Rick Steiner, Kevin Sullivan and Steve "Dr. Death" Williams. The group also held the NWA World Tag Team belts. Rotunda also had a strong run in Championship Wrestling in Florida early in his career and was always considered a strong in-ring worker.
Rotunda officially retired from the ring in 2004 in Japan, but later made one-off appearances for Sal Corrente's WrestleReunion in 2005 and in a WWE Raw 15th Anniversary Battle Royal. Rotunda is the father of Windham "Bray Wyatt" Rotunda and Taylor "Bo Dallas" Rotunda.
Rotunda and Barry Windham, as The U.S. Express, were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame over Wrestlemania 40 weekend in Philadelphia.
