OVW RISE RECAP FOR 9/4/25
Family Business (Jay & Tommy Boy DeNiro) vs. Sin City Outlaws (Luke Hartman & Mad Dog Martin) w/Janie Hartman
The match begins with The Outlaws jumping Tommy Boy and Jay, The Outlaws get Jay out of the ring before double teaming Tommy Boy for a short time. Hartman tags in and he nails Tommy Boy with a few strikes before choking him on the middle rope, Janie interferes and she attacks Tommy Boy behind the ref’s back. Hartman corners Tommy Boy again while landing strikes, Martin tags in and he nails Tommy Boy with more strikes. Martin gets Tommy Boy out of the corner by landing a slam followed by multiple splashes, Janie attacks Tommy Boy again while the ref was distracted. Hartman tags in and he gets a near fall on a downed Tommy Boy, Tommy Boy fights back and he finally tags Jay into the match. Jay quickly starts cleaning house against the opposing team, Tommy Boy makes a blind tag as Jay lands a double clothesline. Tommy Boy hits Hartman with an assisted springboard high cross body for a three count.
Winners: Family Business (Jay & Tommy Boy DeNiro)
After the match, Family Business gets the microphone and they reveal hair clippers and a dummy head was in the box. Tommy Boy and jay take turn shaving the head of the dummy, sending a message to Tony Evans.

- A video package airs showing what went down last week between Stephen Steel, Brandon Davis and Linda Kay.
Boy Toy Troy w/Coach Prime vs. Brandon Davis
The match begins with Troy attacking a distracted Davis from behind, Troy traps Davis in the corner while landing multiple strikes. Troy chokes Davis on the middle rope and Coach Prime does the same following a ref distraction, Davis fights back and Troy nails him with some more strikes. Troy then drops Davis with a slam for a near fall, Troy keeps Davis grounded while holding him in a chin lock. Davis gets free and he drops Troy with a leaping back elbow strike followed by a drop kick, Davis follows up with a flapjack on Troy. Prime interferes again and that allows Troy to roll up Davis for a near fall, Davis recovers and he drops Troy with an STO. Davis then drops Troy with some clotheslines followed by a suplex, Prime interferes again and Davis takes his whistle. Prime gets in the ring and Davis nails him with a few clotheslines, Davis sends Prime into Davis before knocking him out of the ring. Davis then hits Troy with a spine buster followed by a face buster for a three count.
Winner: Brandon Davis
After the match, an angry Stephen Steel is shown throwing a tantrum backstage.
- Kirko Ky and Jay 3 are backstage, 3 says that they are looking to win the OVW Tag Team Championships. The Trifecta interrupts and they tell Ky and 3 that they aren’t getting a title shot.
- OVW United States Champion Erik Surge is shown arriving to the arena.
- Highlights are shown of last weeks match between Kal Herro & Z-Force defeating The Doom Syndicate.
- Stephen Steel approaches Linda Kay at the commentary station before heading to the ring, Steel gets the microphone and he says he will expose the real Brandon Davis. Steel says he has some images of Davis that will cause Kay to change her mind about him, Steel shows pictures of Davis’ childhood and into adulthood. Davis eventually interrupts and he calls the pictures fake, Davis says Steel’s run as the OVW Rush Division Champion has been fake as well. Steel calls Davis a fake wrestler and Davis says he is a far better wrestler than Steel, Steel questions whether Kay actually cares about Davis at all. Steel says Kay will always be his baby doll and Davis says that it isn’t true, Davis goes to address Kay and Steel nails him with a low blow. Steel goes to the commentary station and he breaks the rose Davis gave Kay, which leads to Kay slapping Steel.
- The Trifecta are backstage and they talk about holding OVW gold, Kirko Ky and Kay 3 challenge Ashton Adonis and Brandon Berretta to a match and Jake Lawless accepts on their behalf.
- Highlights are shown of last week’s match between J-Rod and Lovely Miss Larkan.
Dustin Jackson vs. Jake Lawless
The match begins with Jackson dropping Lawless with an arm drag, Jackson backs Lawless into the corner before landing a kick to the midsection. Jackson avoids a charging Lawless before landing another arm drag, Jackson starts going to work on the arm of Lawless. Lawless gets free and Jackson knocks him down with a drop kick, Jackson gets Lawless down again while working over his arm. Lawless goes after the eyes of Jackson and Jackson recovers before attacking the injured arm again, Jackson goes for an arm bar and Lawless escapes before landing a throat strike. Lawless backs Jackson into the corner while landing strikes, Jackson recovers and he drops Lawless with a big boot followed by a slam. Jackson then hits Lawless with a flapjack for a near fall, Jackson looks for the DJ Driver and Lawless rakes his eyes before tossing him over the top rope to cause a DQ.
Winner: Dustin Jackson, by DQ
- Tony Evans address the DeNiro Family before his match, Evans says nobody from the DeNiro Family will shave his head.
Tony Evans w/Drew Hernandez vs. Erik Surge
The match begins with Hernandez distracting Surge so Evans can attack him from behind, Surge fights back and he chops Evans in the back. Surge then sends a charging Evans out of the ring, Hernandez attacks Surge from behind while the ref was checking on Evans. Evans returns and he nails Surge with a basement drop kick, Evans follows up by hitting Surge with another drop kick. Surge fights back and Hernandez interferes again so Evans can regain control, Evans sends Surge out of the ring so Hernandez can work him over again while the ref was distracted. Surge fights back and he sends Evans face first into the mat, Surge gets back in the ring and Evans nails him with a drop kick to the knee. Surge fights back again and Evans nails him with a knee strike before choking him on the middle rope, Hernandez interferes again while Evans distracted the ref.
Surge gets angry with a swinging Evans and he corners him before landing strikes, Surge then hits Evans with a slam before going to the top rope. Hernandez interferes again and that allows Evans to drop kick Surge, Evans climbs the ropes and he drops Surge with a superplex for a near fall. Evans collides head first with Surge during an avalanche attempt, Hernandez sends Surge into the ring post while Evans again distracts the ref. Surge and Evans have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Surge ends the exchange by dropping Evans with a headbutt. Surge accidentally sends Evans into the referee and Hernandez hits the ring to attack Surge, Surge fights back to drop Evans and Hernandez with a double clothesline. Surge gets Hernandez out of the ring before Evans gets him in an ankle lock, Surge gets free and he hits Evans with The Bombshell for a three count.

OVW Tag Team Championship
The Trifecta (Ashton Adonis & Brandon Berretta) (c) vs. Level 3 (Kirko Ky & Jay 3)
The match begins with Berretta scoring a takedown on Ky before slapping him in the back of the head, 3 tags in and Berretta hits him with a back suplex slam. Adonis tags in and he double teams 3 alongside Berretta, Berretta tags back in and 3 takes both opponents down with a middle rope cross body block. Ky tags in and he quickly starts cleaning house against the opposing team, Ky then drops Berretta with a suplex before working over his arm. 3 tags back in and he also goes after the injured arm of Berretta, Berretta recovers and he corners 3 before landing strikes. Berretta then drops 3 with a hard Irish whip into the corner, Berretta corners 3 again while landing strikes. Adonis makes the blind tag and he attacks 3 from behind, Adonis mounts a downed 3 while landing strikes. Berretta interferes and attacks 3 while the ref was distracted, Berretta tags in and he nails a cornered 3 with strikes.
Adonis tags back in and 3 escapes his grasp before tagging Ky back in, Ky is quickly dropped by Adonis. Berretta tags back in and he nails a cornered Ky with strikes, Berretta drops Ky before landing a sliding lariat for a near fall. Berretta holds Ky down while applying a chin lock to him, Ky gets free after landing a series of jaw breakers on Berretta. 3 tags in and he quickly starts cleaning house against the opposing team, Adonis eventually drops 3 with a big boot followed by a suplex. 3 then hits Adonis with a jaw breaker before tagging Ky in, Ky and 3 hit Adonis with a Total Elimination for a near fall. 3 tags back in and Adonis nails him with a throat strike, Adonis looks for a blue thunder bomb and 3 counters with a rana. Ky tags in and he works with 3 to hit Berretta with a double flapjack for a near fall, 3 then hits Berretta with an assisted splash for a near fall. Adonis hits the ring and Ky sends him to the arena floor, Ky and 3 then hit Berretta with a double suplex for another near fall.
Ky then hits Berretta with a follow up suplex before landing an avalanche, 3 tags back in and Jake Lawless comes to the ringside area. Ky takes out Lawless and Adonis with a suicide dive, Berretta catches 3 in a roll up for a three count. 3 then hits Berretta with a running head kick for a three count.
Winners: Level 3 (Kirko Ky & Jay 3), your new OVW Tag Team Champions
- Kal Herro and Star Rider are backstage, the referee for their match says that everybody will be banned from ringside.
Crixus vs. Big Zo
The match begins with Zo attacking Crixus as he was making his entrance, Zo then sends Crixus into the ring steps and ring post. Zo gets Crixus in the ring and the ref calls for the bell, Zo nails a downed Crixus with multiple elbow drops. Crixus fights back and Zo drops him with a right before landing a running body block, Zo then nails a cornered Crixus with an avalanche followed by clothesline strikes. Zo corners Crixus again before landing another avalanche, Zo then drops Crixus with a hard Irish whip into the corner. Crixus recovers and he nails Zo from behind with a headbutt, Zo quickly recovers and he drops Crixus with a clothesline. Zo nails Crixus with a few more strikes before landing a slam, Zo slams Crixus in the corner before climbing the ropes. Zo goes for a Zo Bomb and Crixus gets out of the way, Crixus then hits Zo with multiple leaping shoulder tackles. Crixus then hits Zo with a few headbutts before landing a Samoan drop, Zo recovers and he hits a leaping Zo with a double sledge.
Zo then hits Crixus with a Zonado before climbing the ropes, Zo then hits Crixus with a series of Zo Bombs for a three count.
Winner: Big Zo
- J-Rod makes her way to the ring and she has something to say, J-Rod talks about being jumped last week after her match with Lovely Miss Larkan. J-Rod wants footage of her attack last week shown and nothing appears on the big screens, OVW Women’s Champion Freya The Slaya interrupts and says J-Rod is making false accusations about what happened last week. Freya says she would attack J-Rod without using sneaky methods, Freya says she doesn’t know who attacked J-Rod before heading backstage. Freya gets attacked as she was heading backstage by an unknown assailant.

Kal Herro vs. Star Rider
The match begins with Rider sending Herro into the corner while landing strikes, Rider then drops Herro with a back elbow strike. Rider keeps Herro cornered while landing shoulder thrusts to the midsection, Herro fights back and he pops Rider with a few strikes. Herro follows up by hitting Rider with a clothesline, Herro keeps Rider in the corner while landing a few strikes. Rider fights back and he corners Herro again while landing strikes, Rider then drops Herro with a hard Irish whip into the corner. Herro recovers and he hits Rider with a back body drop, Rider quickly recovers and he rakes the eyes of Herro. Rider avoids the swings from Herro while landing strikes of his own, Herro stays in the corner and Rider hits him with a corner spear for a near fall. Rider keeps Herro grounded while landing strikes and applying a low bear hug to him, Herro gets free after nailing Rider with a jaw breaker. Rider misses a corner drop kick and Herro nails him with a super kick that knocks him out of the ring, Herro leaves the ring and he nails Rider with some strikes.
Herro gets Rider back into the ring and he nails him with more strikes, Rider recovers and he nails Herro with a knee to the midsection for a near fall. Rider holds Herro down again while applying a low bear hug to him, Herro gets free and he cracks Rider with some strikes. Rider avoids a clothesline from Herro before using a knee strike to knock him out of the ring, Herro gets to the ring apron and Rider knocks him back to the arena floor. Herro recovers and he sends Rider into the corner, Herro climbs the ropes and Rider nails him with a shot to the midsection as he leaps off for a near fall. Rider traps Herro in the corner while landing a few strikes, Rider then hits Herro with a corner clothesline. Herro fights back and he sends Rider to the ring apron, Rider climbs the ropes and he nails Herro with an elbow drop for a near fall. Rider tries keeping Herro grounded while landing more strikes, Rider misses an avalanche attempt and Herro drops him with multiple clotheslines.
Herro then hits Rider with a cross body block followed by a knee strike, Herro then drops Rider with a discus lariat. Herro looks towards the entrance to see if The Doom Syndicate was trying to interfere, Rider nails a distracted Herro with a low blow followed by a spear for a near fall. Rider recovers and he nails Herro with a shotgun drop kick for a near fall, Rider goes for the Star Destroyer and Herro avoids it. Herro then hits Rider with a death valley driver for a near fall, Herro goes to the top rope and Rider meets him up there before landing a superplex. Herro quickly fights back to hit Rider with a knee strike followed by the Herro’s Journey for a three count.
