The former Abraham Washington, Brian Jossie, who has been competing in bodybuilding recently, was taken to the ER after a show last month due to severe stomach pain.
Jossie ended up having surgery after tests determined it was a tear in his intestines. The surgery went well, but he aspirated, which caused fluid to go into his lungs. He was put on a ventilator. and induced coma, and was on life support.
Jossie finally recovered and was sent home three days ago, after nearly a month in hospital.
His significant other, Marnae June Barnum, has been posting updates on her instagram @marnaejune. She wrote, "After almost a month in the hospital, Brian is finally home! What a crazy, unexpected month August has been. I’m just so grateful to have him alive and here with me. Just last week, he could barely sit on the edge of his bed without help. Today, when we were leaving they went to get a wheel chair, he refused, and he insisted on walking out on his own with me."
