Spotlight Match: JGeorge vs Love Doug
JGeorge is “The Terminator” tonight, says Rich Palladino? Doug is being cute but JGeorge seems to be all business tonight. This is a VERY competitive back and forth back, crowd prettt fired up for a lot of this. Doug hits a bulldog and a Michanoku driver to get a solid three. What does JGeorge have to do to find his way to the main card?
We’re starting with an Open Challenge for the IWTV World Championship??? Is Ray Jaz not here? Marcus Mathers is here! Who is answering the call? Smart Mark Sterling is out here, bringing Jariel Rivera with him? God. Matt Cardona has a date with Marcus at Americanrana and he asked Mark to bring someone to RI to rough him up. Win or lose, Marcus isn’t supposed to be 100% after this.
Match 1: Marcus Mathers(c) vs. Jariel Rivera (for the IWTV Independent Wrestling World Championship)
Rivera is immediately upset that the crowd is all for Mathers here. Maybe he should be more mad that his own manager is using him as nothing more than a useful tool? Mathers slams Jariel around and sends him into the crowd with a kick off the apron. It’s a good time watching Rivera get beat up but then he posts the champ to get the advantage. Rivera working the arm and that starts to pay dividends as the match progresses. Mathers with the comeback blue Thunder bomb…Rivera kicks out! Jariel tries a standing kimura…Marcus escapes! A booking superkick drops Rivera and Marcus stacks the pin for the three. Mathers grabs the medic on his way out, he’s having trouble holding that belt. Mission Accomplished, Jariel?
Match 2: Davienne vs Little Mean Kathleen
Cranston is thrilled for LMK in this. Let’s see how Kathleen does against this new and improved Davienne. Quite well, to start. LMK biting at Davienne, bouncing her off the buckles and tossing her around. And then Davienne hits a sitout facebuster and LMK is in survival mode. She counters another facebuster to a stunner! Ten l
Punches into the jog stomps! Flavor bomb for two! “I have to kill her” says Kathleen confidently just before Davienne takes out her leg and applies the Boston crab for the tap out!
Davienne tries to keep the punishment going but Liviyah is out here to make the save! Liv wants more! If Davienne was planning to make her life hell until Rana…Liv wants a shot at her next week so they can do it straight up!
Match 3: Brett Ryan Gosselin (w/ Oxx Adams) vs TJ Crawford (w/ Love Doug)
Not gonna lie, BRG is a great mouthpiece to get nuclear heat on Adams. BRG is slowly becoming Cranston’s Steven Stetson. BRG thinks to finally kill love and embrace hate tonight. The Silver Sniper is more than happy to let his rage fly free right at the bell. Oxx makes his presence felt quickly, trapping TJ to eat a dropkick and ripcord lariat from THE WORST. I guess Ref Gina needs glasses tonight. TJ fights off a backpack and slams BRG down. Heavy kicks starting to land! Brett might be done? Here comes Oxx again! Doug grabs the big leg but Adams swings his away, great spot. BRG tries to steal the rollup but TJ hits a silver bullet and a sitout bomb for the win! This was a blast.
Rich Palladino is here to interview Star Struck! Channing Thomas and Anthony Greene want a piece of MINT. No one likes MINT. Next week Channing fights Gal. The winner gets to pick the stipulation for their tag team clash on Sept 1 at “Dirty Work”!
Match 4: Kylon King vs Brando Lee
I love how Kylon still comes out to Run DMC’s Down With the King” but he just no sells the song’s energy cause he’s all emo now. This is an Americanrana preview for Miracle Generation vs Brando & Ichiban! Kylon might be dispassionate but he’s trying to shove Brando right out of this contest like he doesn’t even belong here. Lee cracks him with a hard chop and it’s ON! That said, as much as Brandon’s giving: Kylon has an answer for nearly everything….until he gets overconfident and Brando rolls him up while he’s being taunted…and gets the three! What an upset!
Match 5: Julius Draeger vs Aaron Ortiz
Welcome back, Draeger! Ok, back to calling him a piece of s*** and a Lorax. Draeger quickly bullying Ortiz, hungry to reestablish his place in the Cranston pecking order. Ortiz speeds things up and Draeger is having trouble keeping up. The Cranston crowd is so hot for the Shooter Boys and that keeps Aaron in the fight…even when Draeger drags him back into his world of stiff stomps and heavy tosses. Ortiz picks the pace back up, hits a northern lights and a Frogsplash to get the three over BIOPro’s bully! A very good showing for Draeger’s return but Ortiz is laser focused on their tag team title clash with Swipe Right at Americanrana!
Backstage with Fancy Ryan Clancy: he is NOT going to “let it go”. He’s upset with how he lost his Wrestling Open championship…and he will not forgive Bobby Orlando for being the cause of it, accidental or not.
Match 6: MINT (Gal & Joseph Zamora) vs The Fancy Bears (Fancy Ryan Clancy & Bear Bronson)
Cranston loves this Fancy Bears tandem. Fancy is just controlling Gal outright from the start. Gal starts having trouble with Bear so he lets Zamora deal with that. He doesn’t do so good at that task. The Fancy Bears are just mauling him. Bear press slams Clancy into Zamora for two. Zamora finally escapes a torture rack with a neck snap and gets Gal back into the mix to put a hurt on Bronson finally. A cheap shot to Clancy distracts the ref and lets MINT get some more damage in on Bear. Zamora finally messes up and does a sunset on Bear…and immediately eats that sitout senton. Clancy gets the tag and runs wild! Gal with a leg drop to break up a butterfly suplex bridge as we hit one minute to go in the time limit. Bear clears Gal, setting up Clancy to KO Zamora with the dropkick to get the three! Good stuff!
Bear wants the mic. He reminds Clancy that the crowd loves him. He GETS IT. He understands why Clancy is mad. He says to let it go. Ryan may have just crossed a line with Bear as he asks Bronson if he would just let it go if Gabby Forza just decided to leave him. That clearly struck a nerve in Bear.
Main Event: Vinny Scalise (w/ Bryce Donovan & Smart Mark Sterling) vs Bobby Orlando
I mean, we KNOW Jariel Rivera is lurking somewhere. I hope Bobby is keeping his eyes peeled. Bryce’s mere presence is a factor and Vinny takes control very early, ramming Bobby into the apron but not being left for dead JUST YET. This is a pretty one-sided beatdown of the number one contender to the Wrestling Open Championship. But Bobby isn’t staying down. Ref Gina gets distracted and Mark Sterling gets a little in too. Bobby finally pops the crowd, catching Vinny with a powerbomb! Mom’s on a roll and nearly gets the W with a backstabber! Fight to the top…Bobby hits a superplex! Vinny gets the knees up to block the dab elbow! A brain buster doesn’t finish things! The crowd chanting “Not enough!” Starts to get under Scalise’s skin. But that is the story here: Vinny can’t do enough to put Bobby down and his cornermen can’t believe this is still going. Orlando kicks free and hits a sick trick cutter! Bobby with a staredown with Bryce…that’s the motivation he needs! Bobby hits an AA! Sterling tries to lull the leg but gets himself and Bryce ejected! Vinny tries a suicide dive but wipes out Sterling! Orlando hits a spear! Kick out! This is fire. The dab elbow connects! This should be the match but Mark Sterling runs in to attack Bobby, getting Vinny DQ’d!
Sterling rains punches down on Bobby until Fancy Ryan Clancy runs down. The assault briefly stops but Clancy opts to turn around and lets the beatings continue. Bear Bronson doesn’t let this go and makes the save! Orlando wiped out in the corner but has the mic. Next week, Bobby is taking out Bryce’s final minion: Smart Mark Sterling! Sterling wants nothing to do with it. Bobby entices him with some stakes: If Bobby wins, Sterling is banned from ringside at Americanrana…but if Sterling wins? Bobby promises to give up his title shot. Bryce storms through the curtain: “WE ACCEPT.”
