The new ESPN app that will house WWE PLEs starting 9/20 officially launches today.
To answer questions we have received from readers, some quick notes:
*Yes, WWE PLEs and content aired on ESPN will then be archived for VOD, the same as it is on other streaming services.
*Previous content (old Wrestlemanias, etc.) will remain with Peacock through the end of 2025. If WWE and ESPN come to a deal for that content, it could move to ESPN but that is not a given at this time.
*For those who already receive ESPN+ via the Disney Triple Play, there is no clear indication yet as to how to swap out ESPN+ for the new App as of this writing. The easiest course of action currently may be to cancel the former Triple Play and then sign up for the new one including the new ESPN app.
*If you have ESPN through the following, they also have access to the new app at no additional cost, signing in via your cable information:
-Hulu Live.
-DirecTV.
-Charter.
-FuboTV.
-Verizon Fios.
*If you are a DirecTV satellite subscriber, that access will come later in the year we are told.
*YouTubeTV does not currently include that access. That may change.
*If you have another provider, it is possible that access will be added later.
