1 - Shoma Kato and Tatsuya Matsumoto vs. Masatora Yasuda and Zane Jay
Yasuda forces Matsumoto to submit to a Boston Crab.
2 - Taichi and Satoshi Kojima vs. Togi Makabe and Katsuya Murashima
TAKA Michinoku comes to the ring with Kojima and Taichi.
Kojima hits Murashima with a lariat and Taichi hits a Dangerous Backdrop. Taichi pins Murashima.
After the match, Kojima tried get Taichi and TAKA together to form their own group. As they shake hands, David Finlay comes out.
Finlay brings out Oskar Leube and Yuto Nakashima, both former young lions who were away on excursion and now returning to New Japan, as a part of the Bullet Club. They call themselves Knock Out Brothers.
Oskar and Yuto lay out everyone in the ring and target Taichi and the IWGP Tag Team Championship.
Definitely a preview of what is to come in World Tag League.
3 - Toru Yano, YOH and Master Wato vs. YOSHI-HASHI, El Desperado and Ryusuke Taguchi
YOH hits a Direct Driver on Desperado and gets the pin.
YOH is now set up as the next challenger for El Desperado’s IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship.
4 - Boltin Oleg, El Phantasmo and Tiger Mask vs. SANADA, Don Fale and Yoshinobu Kanemaru
Fale hits a rubbing elbow smash on Tiger Mask and gets the pin.
After the match Oleg and Fale brawl, setting up a match for the NEVER Openweight Championship.
5 - Hiroshi Tanahashi, Shota Umino and Yuya Uemura vs. Great O-Khan, Callum Newman and Jakob Austin Young
Uemura pins Young with a Deadbolt suplex.
6 - Shingo Takagi, Yota Tsuji, Hiromu Takahashi and Daiki Nagai vs. David Finlay, Drilla Moloney, Taiji Ishimori and Gedo
Moloney hits a Drilla Killa on Nagai and gets the pin.
After the match, Takagi calls out Gabe Kidd for not showing up tonight. He says he should vacate the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship if he cannot show up.
7 - Ryohei Oiwa, Kosei Fujita, Hartley Jackson and Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Ren Narita, Yujiro Takahashi, SHO and DOUKI
SHO hits Jackson with the wrench. DOUKI hits Jackson with his steel pipe. Narita hits Hells Guillotine on Jackson and gets the pin.
House of Torture attacks the neck of ZSJ. Fujita makes the save. He makes the challenge for the IWGP Jr. Tag Team Championship against SHO and DOUKI.
Before the main event, Masahiro Chono joins the Japanese commentary team.
G1 Climax 35 Finals Match:
8 - Konosuke Takeshita vs. EVIL
House of Torture accompanies EVIL and surrounds the ring. The referee demands all wrestlers go behind the barrier at ringside.
The crowd is behind Takeshita. House of Torture hops the rails and interfere. EVIL applies the STF and mocks Chono at ringside. House of Torture interferes again. Takeshita has to fight everyone. Young lions and Rocky Romero drag the House of Torture members back to the locker room.
Narita hits Takeshita in the knee with the push-up bar. Zack Sabre Jr. grabs Narita in an ankle lock and drags him to the locker room.
When it became a one on one match, the crowd began to switch towards EVIL. Almost a 50/50 split. They trade finishers. Lots of nearfalls.
Takeshita hits Straight Murder and Raging Fire.
Takeshita pins EVIL.
Konosuke Takeshita is the winner of the G1 Climax 35.
Great match. Takeshita had the most ring time in the entire G1. He is a machine.
Takeshita is presented with the G1 Trophy and the flag with all the names of past winners.
An emotional Takeshita says that he is glad he became a professional wrestler. He encourages others to follow their dreams. He says he will continue to show you things no one has seen before. Because he is The Alpha.
Takeshita heads to Forbidden Door next on August 25. New Japan will build towards DESTRUCTION in KOBE on September 28.
