8/14 TNA IMPACT ON AXS TV REPORT

This week’s episode starts off with a recap of last week’s iMPACT! - the confrontation between Trick Williams and Moose, Eric Young taking issue with Mike Santana failing TNA, and Mustafa Ali defeating Joe Hendry with the help of Order 4.

Tom Hannifan and Matthew Rehwoldt are on commentary.

Moose is down backstage and is getting checked on by referees and officials. The rest of The System shows up. Moose says that Trick Williams and First Class attacked him. The System sees Santino Marella and tells him that their match is going to start right now!

The System goes to the ring. Eddie Edwards says that the time for talking is done and calls out Trick Williams and First Class.

The System vs. TNA World Champion/NXT’s Trick Williams and First Class

The System rushes at Trick Williams and First Class as they head down the ramp during their entrance. Brian Myers gets into the ring and hits a slingshot dive onto Williams and First Class. JDC gets onto the apron and hits a springboard corkscrew dive onto Williams and First Class. Williams and Eddie Edwards get into the ring and the referee calls for the match to begin.

Williams hits Edwards with a leg lariat. Rich Swann tags in and kicks Edwards in the gut. Swann hits a running kick on Edwards in the corner. Edwards reverses a whip and hits a short clothesline in the corner and then again in the middle of the ring. Edwards slingshots Swann into the forearm of JDC. JDC tags in and hits a slingshot elbow drop onto Swann, who was still on Edwards’ knees, for a two count. Myers tags in and The System knocks Williams and AJ Francis off of the apron. 

JDC hits a running European uppercut on Swann. Edwards hits a Blue Thunder Bomb on Swann. Myers hits a flying elbow drop on Swann for a two count. JDC tags in and chops Swann in the gut. Swann reverses a whip, but JDC slams Swann down. JDC hits the ropes, but Francis opens the ropes, which sends JDC to the floor. Swann heads to the floor and rains down punches on JDC. Swann rolls JDC back into the ring and kicks JDC. Francis tags in and whips Swann into JDC with a forearm. Francis drives JDC into the corner and then hits a short clothesline for a two count. Francis locks on an arm and neck stretch, but JDC works out of it. Francis hits a splash in the corner, which drops JDC to his butt. 

Francis hits Tennessee Whiskey on JDC, tagging Williams in during the move. Williams hits a flapjack on JDC and then jaws at The System. Williams grabs a front facelock, but JDC works out of it and hits the ropes. Williams hits a pump kick for a two count. Francis tags in. Williams whips Francis into JDC and AJ hits a splash. Williams hits JDC with a dropkick. Francis drops an elbow on JDC. Edwards breaks up the pin. Francis locks on an arm and neck stretch, but JDC works out of it with forearms. Francis grabs a bear hug. JDC bites out of it and tries to lift up Francis. Francis blocks it. JDC ducks a clothesline and hits a belly-to-back suplex. Swann and Myers tag in.

Myers comes in hot. Myers sends Francis into Williams and then hits an enzuigiri on Swann. Myers hits an Implant DDT and a Michinoku Driver on Swann. Francis breaks up the pin and goozles Myers and JDC. Edwards superkicks Francis and The System sends Francis to the floor. Myers sends Williams to the floor. Swann rolls Myers up and uses the ropes to get the win!

Winners: Trick Williams and First Class

A TNA Slammiversary: Fade to Black commercial airs.

Dani Luna and Indi Hartwell vs. Myla Grace and Harley Hudson

Harley Hudson and Dani Luna start things off with a lock up. Hudson grabs a side headlock and tries to take Luna over. Luna blocks it and lifts Hudson off of her. Hudson grabs a side headlock again and uses the ropes to take Luna over. Luna tries a roll up, but Hudson kicks out. Luna picks up Hudson and swings her around, but Hudson is able to hit a roll up. Luna kicks out and hits a basement forearm for a two count. Luna lifts up Hudson, but Harley slips out and grabs a sleeper. Myla Grace tags in and Hudson hits Luna with a jawbreaker.

Grace hits a flurry of strikes and sweeps Luna’s leg. Grace hits a basement dropkick and then a running European uppercut on Luna in the corner. Hudson tags in and she takes turns hitting running strikes in the corner on Luna with Grace. Hudson grabs Luna’s arm and cranks it. Luna tries to block it, but Hudson sends Luna to the man and gets a two count. Hudson snapmares Luna and then hits a leg drop to Luna’s arm for a two count. Hudson hits Luna with a couple of shoulder blocks, but Luna picks up Hudson. Grace makes a blind tag and grabs Luna. Luna hits a standing switch and ducks under a leaping Hudson. Luna hits Grace with a German Suplex and tags in Indi Hartwell.

Hartwell comes in hot and hits two spinebusters on Hudson and then Grace. Hartwell hits Grace with Hurts Donut for the win!

Winner: Dani Luna and Indi Hartwell

The two teams shake hands after the match. As Dani Luna and Indi Hartwell head up the ramp, Rosemary emerges from the crowd and grabs Hartwell’s hand. Rosemary mists Hartwell and slinks away. Luna checks on Hartwell.

The ending of the Mustafa Ali/Joe Hendry match from last week is shown.

John Skyler with Order 4 vs. Matt Cardona

John Skyler tries to kick Matt Cardona to start, but Cardona catches it. Cardona sends Skyler to the corner and starts to rain down punches. Jason Hotch distracts Cardona and Skyler tugs Cardona off of the ropes. Cardona rolls to the apron. Skyler kicks him to the floor and Cardona hits a chair. Skyler distracts the referee and Hotch kicks Cardona. Skyler rolls Cardona back into the ring and rains down punches on him. Skyler grabs a chinlock, but Cardona strikes out of it. Skyler clubs down on Cardona’s back and sends him to the ropes. Cardona is able to grab Skyler and slam his face down into the mat. Skyler reverses a whip, but Cardona blocks a charging Skyler.

Cardona hops to the middle rope and hits a missile dropkick on Skyler. Cardona sets up for the Reboot, but Tasha Steelz shields Skyler, stopping Cardona in his tracks. The referee tries to get Steelz out of the ring as Hotch gets on the apron. Cardona fights off Hotch. Skyler tries to roll Cardona up, but Cardona blocks it and hits Radio Silence for the win!

Winner: Matt Cardona

Jason Hotch attacks Matt Cardona from behind and rains down punches on him. John Skyler joins the beatdown. The Great Hands choke Cardona as Mustafa Ali comes out to the stage. Ali proudly looks on and then brings out Agent Zero. The Great Hands hold Cardona as Agent Zero heads to the ring. Agent Zero hits a chokebomb on Cardona. Order 4 stands over Cardona and pledges their allegiance to Ali, who is still on the stage.

Indi Hartwell is getting checked on by the doctor in the back. Jody Threat comes in and wants to help, but Dani Luna shows up and says that she has the helping under control. Threat and Luna go back and forth about helping until the doctor yells at them to find something else to do.

A TNA Bound for Glory commercial airs.

Matt Cardona angrily approaches Tasha Steelz in the back. Cardona wants Mustafa Ali at Emergence. Steelz says that Ali is busy, but accepts. 

Fatal Influence’s loss on NXT is shown, along with Ash by Elegance and Masha Slamovich looking on after the match. Ava making the Triple Threat match between Jacy Jayne, Ash by Elegance, and Masha Slamovich at NXT Heatwave is shown. Next week on NXT, it’ll be Fatal Influence vs. The Elegance Brand.

Santino Marella makes his way to the ring for the Emergence Knockouts Tag Team Summit. Team by team, Marella calls out The Elegance Brand, Lei Ying Lee and Xia Brookside, The IInspiration, and Fatal Influence. Once all four teams are in the ring, Marella gives them the opportunity to get things off of their chest. Heather and M go first. M says that since they have the gold, they are the most dominant team in the ring. That won’t be changing after Emergence.

Lei Ying Lee speaks Chinese. Xia Brookside agrees with her - they are going to kick everyone’s asses. Jazmyn Nyx says that the TNA titles keep going to NXT wrestlers. Fallon Henley says that NXT is the superior brand and Fatal Influence will be the new champions. Jessie McKay says that Fatal Influence has been hit in the head too many times. Cassie Lee says that The IInspiration came to TNA to become the champions.

All four teams get in each others’ face and jaw at each other until Marella breaks it up. Marella gives them five seconds to go at it. They do and Marella counts to five. The teams don’t stop fighting, so Marella calls out security. Security comes out and is able to eventually separate the teams…until McKay hits a dive off of the apron. Then Brookside hits a dive. Then Lee hits a dive.Then Lee hits a dive.

Gia Miller approaches Rosemary in the back. Rosemary says that she’s going to cut out Indi Hartwell’s heart. Hartwell walked into TNA like she owned it. Well, Hartwell is blind to the dark forces. So - Rosemary decided to make Hartwell as blind as her awareness. Rosemary is the dark mother of TNA and should now be addressed as The Gatekeeper. If Hartwell wants the TNA Knockouts World Championship, then the path goes through Rosemary.

TNA Injury Report

*Moose has a hip injury from being attacked earlier in the night, but is cleared.

*Indi Hartwell has an eye injury from Rosemary’s mist and is day-to-day.

*The Home Town Man has bruised ribs, but is cleared.

Mance Warner and Steph De Lander say that Santino Marella has been suspending everyone lately. They are suspended for making love in Marella’s office. Well, they don’t listen to rules. Nothing will keep them out of TNA. They won’t be told when they are allowed back in TNA - they’ll be seen real soon.

Mike Santana vs. Eric Young with The Northern Armory

Eric Young hits Mike Santana with a clothesline as Santana gets into the ring during his entrance. The referee calls for the match to start. Santana starts to fight back with punches, but is sent to the ropes. Young hits a back elbow and then sends Santana to the floor. Young distracts the referee as The Northern Armory take shots at Santana. Santana is rolled back into the ring and Young gets a two count. Young sends Santana to the corner and hits him with a punch. Young chokes Santana on the bottom rope. Santana tries to fight back, but Young clubs down on his back and then sends him hard into the corner.

Young hits a neckbreaker for a two count. Young twists Santana’s neck and then grabs a neck stretch. Santana strikes out of it, but Young clubs down on his back. Santana is sent to the ropes, but he hits a leaping clothesline. Santana fires up and hits a running chop in the corner. Santana is sent to the corner, but hops over Young and hits an enzuigiri. Santana hits the ropes and hits a flipping dive on The Northern Armory. Santana gets back in the ring and ducks a clothesline. Young drives Santana to the corner, but Santana holds onto the ropes and hits a Rolling Buck Fifty for a two count.

Santana lifts Young to the top rope and chops him. Santana joins Young on the ropes, but gets shoved to the mat. Santana runs up the ropes again, but gets shoved to the mat again. Young hits a flying elbow drop for a two count. Young tries a piledriver, but Santana slips out and rolls Young up for a two count. Santana hits a Death Valley Driver for a two count. Santana sends Young to the corner, but Young Flair Flips to the apron. Young climbs to the top rope and leaps off. Santana dodges and Young rolls through. Santana hits Spin the Block for the win!

Winner: Mike Santana

The Northern Armory attacks Mike Santana after the match. Sami Callihan comes out and takes out The Northern Armory on the ramp. Callihan gets into the ring, but Eric Young rolls to the floor and heads up the ramp as Callihan helps Santana to his feet.

Joe Hendry defeating Charlie Dempsey on NXT is shown.

Highlights from Trick Williams, Moose, Je’Von Evans, and Oba Femi vs. DarkState on NXT are shown.

Frankie Kazarian makes his way to the ring for The King’s Speech. Kazarian welcomes everyone to the only show in professional wrestling hosted by a real king. Kazarian brings out Jake Something and TNA International Champion Steve Maclin. Something and Maclin get in each other’s faces, but Kazarian tells them to behave. Kazarian asks Something for his thoughts, but Something just stares at Maclin. Kazarian then asks Maclin for his thoughts, but Maclin just stares at Something. Kazarian reminds them that they are supposed to talk on the show.

Maclin grabs the microphone and tells Kazarian to shut up. Maclin says that he’s beyond talking with Something. At Emergence, Maclin will see if Something is built for the title and if he’s…something. Kazarian doesn’t care about Maclin’s credentials and makes fun of Something’s name and intelligence. Something goozles Kazarian. Kazarian thumbs Something in the eye. Maclin tries to hit Kazarian with KIA, but Kazarian slips out and rolls to the floor. Something hits Maclin with Into the Void. Something grabs the TNA International Championship and holds it up.

A TNA Emergence commercial airs.

*Indi Hartwell vs. Rosemary (Countdown to Emergence)

*Mustafa Ali with Order 4 vs. Matt Cardona

*The System with Alisha Edwards vs. First Class

Sami Callihan is in the back. Callihan used to be one of the most feared men in wrestling. What happened? The Death Machine used to fear no man. Even the Death Machine fears father time. At Emergence, Callihan is fighting Mike Santana and time itself. Does the Death Machine still have it? If Callihan doesn’t win, he’s going to do the honorable thing - take the office job, unlace his boots, and retire. Eddie Edwards interrupts Callihan. They have a history and were supposed to fight forever. Edwards asks if Callihan is really going to just give up? Edwards hopes Callihan wins and proves who he really is at Emergence one last time. Edwards says that he and Callihan are the last of a dying breed.

TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater and TNA World Tag Team Champions The Hardys vs. Cedric Alexander and The Rascalz

Cedric Alexander and Leon Slater start things off. Alexander ducks a lock up and takes Slater down to the mat by the waist twice. Slater takes Alexander over on the third try. They exchange pin attempts and then shove each other. Alexander chops Slater and tags in Myron Reed. Slater sends Reed to the apron. Reed hits a scissors kick through the ropes. Reed climbs to the top rope, but Slater ducks and catches a superkick. Reed catches a Slater kick, but Slater hits a spin kick and tags in Matt Hardy. Matt climbs to the middle rope and hits an elbow strike on Reed. Hardy cranks Reed’s arm and tags in Jeff Hardy. The Hardys send Reed to the ropes and hits a back elbow. The Hardys hit a front senton/fist drop combination.

Slater tags in and kicks Reed after an atomic drop by Jeff for a two count. Matt tags in and kicks Reed in the gut. Matt DELETES Reed on the turnbuckles. Slater tags in and sends Reed to the ropes. Zachary Wentz makes a blind tag and Reed ducks under Slater and kicks him. Wentz hits a slingshot lungblower. Reed hits a lungblower on Slater, as well, and Wentz gets a two count. Wentz stretches Slater on the mat and rains down elbows for a two count. Wentz goes for a handspring knee, but Slater dodges it. Wentz hits a flurry of kicks and sends Slater to the ropes. Jeff tags in and Slater kicks Wentz. Jeff hits Poetry in Motion on Wentz with the help of Slater. Jeff hits a dropkick to Wentz’s back for a two count.

Jeff grabs a chinlock, but Wentz works out of it. Jeff clubs down on Wentz’s back and tags in Slater. Slater hits a leaping forearm on Wentz in the corner and tags in Matt. Matt kicks a seated Wentz and then hits a forearm. Matt slingshots Wentz into the middle rope throat-first for a two count. Matt drives Wentz to the corner and tags in Jeff. The Hardys kick Wentz and then Jeff clubs down on Wentz. Jeff hits a few shoulder attacks on Wentz and then whips him across the ring hard into the corner for a two count. Matt tags in and he snapmares Wentz. Matt grabs a chinlock, but Wentz works out of it with punches. 

Matt sends Wentz to the corner. Wentz fights out of the corner and tags in Reed. Reed climbs to the top rope. Matt ducks him, but Reed hits a superkick and then lifts up Matt. Matt slips out and sends Reed to the apron. Reed hits a shoulder through the ropes and tries a sunset flip. Matt rolls out, but Reed hits a dropkick for a two count. Reed pulls Matt to the corner and tags in Alexander. Alexander suplexes Matt for a two count. Alexander elbows Matt in the head for a two count as the show goes to a commercial.

A TNA Emergence commercial airs.

Back from the break, Alexander has an arm stretch on Matt and elbows him. Wentz tags in and hits a slingshot senton for a two count. Wentz grabs a front facelock, but Matt strikes out of it. Wentz is sent to the ropes, but he takes out Matt’s leg and hits a standing moonsault for a two count. Wentz grabs a chinlock, but Matt punches out of it. Matt charges Wentz in the corner, but eats a boot. Wentz climbs to the top rope, but Matt cuts him off and joins him on the ropes. They exchange strikes until Matt hits some headbutts. Matt hits a superplex on Wentz and both men are slow to get up. Alexander and Jeff tag in.

Jeff comes in hot and tackles down Alexander three times and hits an inverted atomic drop. Jeff hits a double leg drop to Alexander’s midsection and then a dropkick for a two count. Alexander blocks a Twist of Fate, but eats a back elbow. Jeff hits Whisper in the Wind for a two count. Jeff goes for a jawbreaker, but Alexander blocks it with a knee. Slater and Reed tag in. Slater hits Reed with two clotheslines and a twisting suplex. Reed ducks a leg lariat. The Rascalz send Slater to the ropes, but Slater hits a handspring double back elbow for a two count on Reed. Reed pushes Slater off on the Twist of Slate attempt.

Wentz hits Slater with a handspring knee. Matt hits Wentz with the Side Effect. Alexander hits Matt with a running knee. Jeff hits a sitout gourdbuster on Alexander and then grabs Reed. Reed turns a suplex into a Stundog Millionaire. Reed blocks Utopia from Slater and lifts him up. Reed hits a hanging flatliner for a two count on Slater. Alexander tags in and tries to lift up Slater. Leon blocks it, but Alexander tries again. Slater slips out and goes for a Twist of Slate. Reed blocks it. The Hardys come in and they hit a triple Twist of Fate with Slater on Alexander and The Rascalz. Jeff tags in and climbs to the top rope. The Rascalz pull Alexander to safety.

Slater leaps off of Matt for a dive onto Alexander and The Rascalz. Alexander is rolled back into the ring. The Hardys hit Alexander with Poetry in Motion. Matt hits a Side Effect on Alexander. Hardy hits a splash off of the second rope on Alexander. Slater tags in and hits the Crossover on Alexander. The Rascalz break up the pin. The Rascalz hit The Hardys with stereo superkicks and then a flurry of running strikes in opposite corners. Reed holds the ropes open and Wentz tries a dive on The Hardys. The Hardys catch him, but Reed hits a dive onto them. Slater hits Big Play Slater on Reed and then climbs to the top rope. Alexander rolls out of the way of the Swanton 450. Slater goes for a handspring move on Alexander, but Cedric catches him and hits the Lumbar Check for the win!

Winners: Cedric Alexander and The Rascalz

Leon Slate and Cedric Alexander get in each other’s faces and jaw at each other as The Hardys and The Rascalz do the same ahead of their title matches tomorrow night at Emergence as the show fades to black.
