WWE’s NXT Heatwave makes its long-awaited return on Sunday, August 24, taking place at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts. This marks the first premium live event in the city since 2023 and the first time NXT delivers a standalone event in Lowell.
The show will stream on Peacock for U.S. audiences and Netflix for international viewers. It is also scheduled head-to-head against AEW and NJPW’s Forbidden Door, which airs earlier the same day from London.

This counterprogramming move ensures NXT will have the last impression on the wrestling audience that day.
Jordynne Grace and Blake Monroe collide at Heatwave 2025 in a match sparked by betrayal and brutality. The feud reignited after Grace tried to attack Monroe on the August 5 episode of NXT. Prior to that, Monroe cost Grace a title opportunity at WWE Evolution by smashing her with a chair. This match promises violence, redemption, and personal stakes that have been brewing for weeks.
Current NXT Champion Oba Femi is scheduled to defend his title at Heatwave 2025. However, his challenger has not yet been confirmed. The choice will come down to TNA Champion Trick Williams or Je’Von Evans, with a match between the two expected on August 19 to determine who will face Femi.
Both challengers have history with the champion and have previously fought him in high-stakes settings, adding tension to whichever matchup is finalized for August 24.
Although no official match has been announced for Sol Ruca at Heatwave, the Women’s North American Champion is expected to appear. Ruca has had standout performances across NXT in recent months and has consistently defended her title. Her presence adds depth and prestige to the show, especially with the women’s division gaining increased focus.
Ethan Page, the reigning NXT North American Champion, is also expected to appear at the event. Like Sol Ruca, he has not yet been confirmed for a match, but his active involvement in recent storylines makes his inclusion likely. Page has defended the title multiple times since winning it and remains one of NXT’s most prominent male champions.
As of now, two matches are officially confirmed for Heatwave 2025. First, Jordynne Grace will face Blake Monroe in a deeply personal singles bout.
Second, Oba Femi will defend his NXT Championship against either Trick Williams or Je’Von Evans, with the challenger yet to be named. Additional matches are expected to be announced in the weeks leading up to the show.
Beyond the confirmed matches, WWE has also advertised appearances from top-tier NXT talent. As mentioned before, Women’s North American Champion Sol Ruca and NXT North American Champion Ethan Page are both expected to be featured on the card, as well NXT Women’s Champion and TNA Knockouts Champion Jacy Jane.
Whether they appear in competition or in non-wrestling segments remains to be seen, but their names have been officially tied to the event’s promotional materials.
Heatwave 2025 is not just another NXT special. Its location in Lowell makes it the first of its kind in that region, and the scheduling opposite Forbidden Door gives it unique narrative importance.
