8/8 NJPW G1 CLIMAX RESULTS FROM KANAGAWA, JAPAN

1 - Masatora Yasuda and Taichi vs. Toru Yano and Boltin Oleg

Yano hits a chop block on Yasuda and rolls him up in a cradle for the pin.

2 - Hartley Jackson and Ryohei Oiwa vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru and SANADA

SANADA brings in a guitar in the ring to hit Jackson.  Jackson grabs the guitar away and SANADA crawls away.   The referee sees Jackson with the guitar and disqualifies TMDK.

House of Torture wins.

3 - Daiki Nagai and Yota Tsuji vs. Jakob Austin Young and Callum Newman

Tsuji hits Young with a Gene Blaster and gets the pin.

Tsuji and Newman throw blows after the match.

4 - Katsuya Murashima and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Dick Togo and EVIL

Before the match, EVIL promised to wrestle a clean match.   He made Dick Togo and Don Fale to not cheat.  

EVIL forces Murashima to tap out to the Darkness Scorpion.

After the match, EVIL shook hands with Tanahashi and bowed slightly, to the shock and surprise from the crowd.

5 - Tomoaki Honma and Yuya Uemura vs. Gedo and David Finlay

Uemura forces Gedo to tap out to a cross arm breaker.

G1 Climax 35 B Block Matches:

6 - El Phantasmo vs. YOSHI-HASHI

ELP hits a CR2, a Burning Hammer and a Thunderkiss '86 and gets the pin.

El Phantasmo has 8 points.

YOSHI-HASHI has 8 points.

El Phantasmo would have wrestled against Gabe Kidd on August 13, but since that match was forfeited, ELP finishes with 8 points.   He will not be making the playoffs.

7 - Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Drilla Moloney

Good match.  Moloney hit a piledriver but ZSJ fought back.   They trade strikes.   Moloney hits a Gore.   ZSJ hits a Zack Driver.  ZSJ escapes  a Drilla Killa.   ZSJ grabs him in a Dragon Sleeper and transitioned to a hammer lock.  Then an arm drag take down.  ZSJ keeps moving and trying for an arm submission.  Moloney gets to his feet.   ZSJ hangs on to the arm.  Moloney tries to chop his way out.  ZSJ repositioned his legs and Moloney has to tap out.

ZSJ wins by submission.

Zack Sabre Jr. is the first wrestler to 12 points.

Drilla Moloney has 8 points.

8 - Shingo Takagi vs. Ren Narita

Narita focused on Takagi's leg and going for a submission.  Takagi fought back and bloodied Narita's nose.  Takagi applies a sleeper and an abdominal stretch submission.    Kanemaru rings the ring bell which distracts the referee.   Narita tries to low blow Takagi, but Takagi blocks it.  Takagi hits his own low blow and hits Made in Japan.    The referee goes for the count but Kanemaru pulls the referee from the ring.   Kanemaru hits Takagi in the knee and Narita hits a Double Cross.   Kanemaru tries to spit whiskey into Takagi's face but gets hit with a Pumping Bomber.  Kanemaru goes to the floor.     Narita tries to hit Takagi with the push up bar.   Daiki Nagai takes the push up bar away from Narita.    Takagi hits Last of the Dragon on Narita.

Takagi pins Narita.

Shingo Takagi has 8 points.

Ren Narita has 10 points.

9 - Shota Umino vs. Konosuke Takeshita

This was the smaller babyface fighting back against the stronger bigger heel.  Takeshita hits a elbow to the back of the head, neck twist and a cross face chicken wing.   Umino did not submit.  Takeshita goes for a pin.  Two count.    Takeshita with a Blue Thunder Bomb. Two count.   Umino blocks a Power Drive Knee.    Umino hits a lariat.   Takeshita hits a Bastard Driver.   Umino hits another lariat.   Two count.  Umino hits Second Chapter.

Umino pins Takeshita.

Shota Umino has 10 points.

Konosuke Takeshita has 10 points.

For B Block, Zack Sabre Jr. has lead with 12 points, followed by Umino, Takeshita and Narita with 10 points.    

A Block concludes on August 10.    B Block concludes on August 13.    Playoff matches begin on August 14.
