8/5 NJPW G1 CLIMAX RESULTS FROM OSAKA, JAPAN

1 - Masatora Yasuda and Taichi vs. Jakob Austin Young and Callum Newman

Young pins Yasuda after hitting Jakob's Ladder.

2 - Toru Yano and Boltin Oleg vs. Dick Togo and EVIL

Yano hits a low blow on Togo and rolls him up in a school boy pin.

3 - Katsuya Murashima and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru and SANADA

Kanemaru forces Murashima to tap out to a figure four leg lock.

4 - Shoma Kato and Yuya Uemura vs. Hartley Jackson and Ryohei Oiwa

Jackson pins Kato after hitting the Jagged Edge.

5 - Daiki Nagai and Yota Tsuji vs. Gedo and David Finlay

Finlay pins Nagai after hitting Into Oblivion.

G 1 Climax 35 B Block Matches:

6 - YOSHI-HASHI vs. Konosuke Takeshita

Good match.  YOSHI-HASHI puts Takeshita into a position to hit Karma, but flips him into a wicked neckbreaker.   YOSHI-HASHI hits a Kumagaroshi.   Takeshita kicks out.  YOSHI-HASHI hits a lariat and follows with a senton splash.   Two count.  YOSHI-HASHI goes for Karma but Takeshita counters into a stunner.  They trade cradle pinfalls for two counts.   Takeshita hits a Power Drive.   Two count.   Takeshita hits Raging Fire.    

Takeshita pins YOSHI-HASHI

Konosuke Takeshita has 10 points.    The first one to hit the double digit mark.

YOSHI-HASHI has 8 points.

7 - Great O-Khan vs. Ren Narita

O-Khan is jumped from behind on his way to the ring by Narita.  Narita goes after O-Khan's knee that he damaged at the last event.   Kanemaru gets involved.  Jakob Austin Young evens the odds.  O-Khan goes for an Eliminator off the ropes, but Narita blinds him with a whiskey spray.  Narita hits a low blow and a Double Cross.  O-Khan kicks out.   Narita applies a modified figure four.     

O-Khan taps out.

Ren Narita has 10 points.

Great O-Khan has 8 points.

8  - El Phantasmo vs. Drilla Moloney

Another good match.   They trade nearfalls.  Moloney hits a piledriver.  ELP hits Canadian Destroyer off the ropes and a CR2.   Two count.    ELP hits another CR2 and a CR3.   ELP follow with Thunderkiss '86.

ELP pins Moloney.

El Phantasmo has 6 points.

Drilla Moloney has 8 points.

9 - Shingo Takagi vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

Great match.  ZSJ attacked Takagi's leg and right elbow.  Takagi kept attacking with power strikes.   Takagi hits Last of the Dragon.   Two count.    ZSJ hits the Zack Driver.   Two count.  Takagi hits his own Zack Driver and follows with Burning Dragon.   ZSJ kicks out at two.   Takagi is selling the arm and leg.   Takagi hammers ZSJ with elbows.  Takagi picks up ZSJ for Made in Japan but ZSJ applies the sleeper.  Takagi escapes.   ZSJ with a Tornado DDT and another Zack Driver.  Takagi kicks out, but ZSJ applies a knee bar.   The crowd is chanting for Takagi.   Takagi gets the rope break.    They trade stiff strikes.    Takagi hits Last of the Dragon.   ZSJ kicks out and rolls Takagi into a cradle pin.   

ZSJ pins Takagi.

Zack Sabre Jr. has 10 points.

Shingo Takagi has 6 points.

For the B Block, Zack Sabre Jr., Ren Narita and Konosuke Takeshita are leading with 10 points.    The top three in each Block will move into the Playoffs.
