The new animated film Bad Guys 2 was released internationally this weekend, grossing $44,539,000 worldwide according to BoxofficeMojo.com.
As PWInsider.com has previously noted, the film features a lucha element.
The plot of the film - "Reformed criminals Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, Mr. Shark and Ms. Tarantula are trying very hard to be good. However, they soon find themselves hijacked into a high-stakes heist that's masterminded by a new team of delinquents they never saw coming -- the Bad Girls."
The film will feature a lucha-centric sequence. PWInsider.com can confirm Masked Republic's Ruben Zamora and Kevin Kleinrock were hired by Dreamworks to be the lucha libre cultural consultants in order to have legitimate authenticity to the sequence.
