Seth Rollins returned and cashed in Money in the Bank to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on CM Punk, who had just won that belt from GUNTHER in an excellent bout. This was Rollins' first appearance on camera since Saturday Night's Main Event when he lost to LA Knight after tweaking his knee. Triple H stated Rollins underwent an MRI that week when talking at a media conference following Evolution. Rollins claimed on the Rich Eisen Show that the MRI result was inconclusive due to swelling in the knee. It's obvious now that whatever happened, it wasn't serious enough to be a long-term issue, something we mentioned could be a possibility the week Rollins was banged up even before he had the announced MRI. We've had a few people ask if the issue was a work all along. If it was, it was a short-sighted idea in my opinion, because it's one thing to work the audience but it's another to work the locker room and people who work for the company - all that does is breed mistrust and mistrust always rots a locker room.
We heard from a lot of readers upset about Punk losing, but my gut is this is just the start of a big run for Punk leading to Wrestlemania season, although obviously plans could change at any time for any reason.
Bron Breakker was limping after his match at the PPV When Breakker returned at the end of the PPV, he had his knee wrapped up. No word on what was up there yet.
Jellyroll received a lot of praise internally after his performance. Billboard.com covered his appearance.
Never underestimate where determination will take you… @JellyRoll615 went on a fitness journey, got healthy and tonight competed in a @WWE ring next to @RandyOrton at #SummerSlam.

NXT star Stacks, who helped train Jellyroll, tweeted the following:
I’ve been at the PC for 3.5 years. I’ve seen plenty of D1 ATHLETES take a couple of bumps and give up in a few weeks because they can’t handle it. The training. The grind. BROKE them.

WWE unofficially announced on their post-show broadcast they had killed the media Q&A segments going forward as Joe Tessitore noted they had a new format, which was WWE personalities sitting down with WWE broadcasters. The media scrums had mostly, with the exception of Paul Levesque, become very much a platform to continue worked storylines. No word whether this means they will be cutting back media access to events.
Tiffany Stratton's gear was a takeoff of an outfit singer Sabrina Carpenter has worn.
CM Punk's ring jacket and gear paid tribute to The Fantastic Four. Obviously, he's always channeled The Thing with "It's Clobbering Time" during his entrance.
Brie Bella was in attendance at Summerslam.
Rapper Fat Joe was also in attendance last night.
WWE President Nick Khan was in attendance at Josh Barnett's Bloodsport before Summerslam.
