Rich Rosen, the partner behind Hulk Hogan's Slam Bar, which was being prepped for a Fall opening, issued the following:
"Absolutely crushed by the passing of my partner and dear friend Hulk Hogan, unquestionably the greatest sports entertainer and athlete of our generation and a true American icon. Like so many, I followed his entire career. Make no mistake about, he was and always will be the face of the WWE. He is the one responsible for its incredible success throughout these last 4 decades.
Hulk had many loves in his life, but the one that ruled his heart was Madison Square Garden. In his own words, “I spent 40 years of my life in that building tearing that place down.”
He won his first championship there. He headlined the first WrestleMania there. MSG was where Hulkamania was born, and he never forgot it. He put the wrestling industry on his shoulders and carried it to unimaginable success.
His final great business venture was a new sports bar directly across the street from MSG called HULK HOGAN’S SLAM SPORTS BAR. It was his idea to have his name put on this brand. He wanted a place where fans from all over the world could come to the very corner where his legend began and celebrate his career and all the iconic sports moments still to come. That dream WILL happen. SLAM will open and it will become the greatest sports entertainment venue the city of New York will ever know.
You did more than enough for all of us Hulk. It’s your time to rest in peace and heal that incredible soul that touched millions. Your legend lives forever brother."
