It’s Saturday and AEW Collision was recorded Thursday night in Chicago, IL, as part of the residency at Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom.
Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone, Nigel McGuinness, and Colt Cabana.
Tony Schiavone starts the show in the ring and brings out Dustin Rhodes to talk about winning the TNT Title. Dustin says he wishes his dad was here with him. He gives the origin of using the phrase “keep steppin’.” He keeps going back to the phrase as he talks about his past.
As he finishes up, we get the Chord of Doom and Don Callis comes to the ring with Kyle Fletcher. Fletcher takes the mic and says that Dustin’s story is a load of crap. He was supposed to be the champion. He says he will not rest until he has taken everything from him.
Dustin says that Fletcher is impressive and he has tons of respect for him, and he says he fell short in the past to win the TNT Title. All Fletcher does is complain and give excuses. He wrestled three matches when Fletcher only worked once. Dustin says, “I pulled it off and you didn’t.”
Don calms Fletcher down and then says Dustin is a great man and he has known him since 1997. He says that despite all of the things that Dustin has overcome, he is still chasing the high of the TNT Title—and when Fletcher beats him, he holds a place in the Don Callis Family for Dustin. He says being a member of the Callis Family is better than being a third wheel in the Dysfunctional Rhodes Family.
Dustin goes after Callis and Fletcher steps in. Callis is able to pull Fletcher out of the ring.
We then get a video to hype the Conglomeration.
