I know there's been a lot of talk this week about a potential TNA deal, but let's be real, where are they going to go? Every major network has someone on their broadcast or cable platforms!
That is not necessarily true. I am aware of one platform that was talking to TNA in the recent past and there have been rumblings among WWE sources in recent weeks of another.
I can confirm that before WWE landed on Tubi, TNA (awhile back) was talking to FOX about having Impact airing weekly live on Tubi with the idea of building to big specials that would potentially air live on FS1. I don't know how far talks went, but it was strong enough that TNA was budgeting out what their costs needed to be to air the shows.
I can also tell you that among at least two sources I spoke with in WWE this month, there was a belief that A&E could end up being a potential home for TNA. That discussion has quieted over the last few weeks, but that doesn't mean talks there are DOA or that there aren't other places TNA could land.
Keep this in mind: If the Paramount merger ever happens, they could be looking for programming that is cheaper to produce and will bring an audience - and pro wrestling is a lot cheaper (apparently) than keeping Stephen Colbert on the air. All it takes is two sides wanting to be in business and making a deal. We will see if TNA finds the right one. Their President, Carlos Silva, has pegged a potential deal as happening in perhaps 90 days. That leads us into the fall season of television. I am hoping it happens.
Do you think TNA breaks their attendance record with AJ Styles at Slammiversary?
I do. The UBS Arena is very accessible by car and The Long Island Railroad. I can see them breaking the 6,000 record.
Is this Hogan/Bischoff thing a worked show? If not, why are you mentioning it?
No, it is not, but it a project that falls under the parameters of related to professional wrestling, no different than The Rock producing a film, MJF being in Happy Gilmore 2 or a pro wrestling-centric play being staged. There are readers who come to this site who may be interested in what Kurt Angle is doing, or what Eric Bischoff is producing. It's there for them. If it's not for you, you don't have to click on the story.
How can Moose be X-Division Champ? I haven't watched in a long time but he's no Cruiserweight.
"The X-Division isn't about weight limits. It's about no limits."
Why doesn't Jeff Jarrett wrestle anymore in AEW?
Someone decided to drop the story of him wanting to gun for the title. If and when they decide to get back to it or cultivate another story, I am sure Jeff Jarrett will be strutting again in the ring.
