Welcome to PWInsider.com’s July 9, 2025 coverage of WWE EVOLVE on Tubi! Scheduled for tonight’s episode:

*EVOLVE Women’s Champion Kali Armstrong vs. Natalya

*Keanu Carver vs. Timothy Thatcher

This week’s episode starts off with a recap of the issues between Kali Armstrong and Natalya.

Peter Rosenberg and Robert Stone are on commentary.

Keanu Carver vs. Timothy Thatcher

They circle and Keanu Carver gets in a quick punch on Timothy Thatcher. Carver goes for another shot, but Thatcher gets in a series of his own and then grabs a sleeper. Carver breaks the hold by driving Thatcher into the corner. Thatcher grabs an arm and then picks a leg. Thatcher drops down on Carver’s arm and then traps Keanu’s arm on the mat. Thatcher kicks down on Carver’s arm for a two count. Thatcher grabs Carver’s arm again and cranks it. Thatcher drives his knee into Carver a couple of times and gets a two count. Thatcher transitions to a Bow and Arrow. Thatcher breaks the hold and they get back to their feet. Thatcher clubs at Carver and then drives his elbow into Carver’s back for a two count.

Thatcher goes for a suplex, but Carver blocks it and hits one of his own. Carver hits a charging shoulder attack in the corner and then hits a Fallaway Slam for a two count. Thatcher grabs at Carver’s leg, but Carver clubs down on him and then stomps down on Thatcher’s chest multiple times. Carver grabs an arm and neck stretch with Thatcher seated. Thatcher is able to get to his feet and break the hold. Thatcher hits a forearm, but Carver shakes it off with a big clothesline for a two count. Carver hits a World’s Strongest Slam for a two count. Carver whips Thatcher into the corner and charges in. Thatcher moves out of the way and Carver hits the corner shoulder-first.

Thatcher hits a series of European Uppercuts, but Carver responds with some right hands. Carver hits an European Uppercut and goes for a clothesline. Thatcher catches Carver’s arm and locks on an arm bar. Carver makes it to the ropes to break up the hold. Thatcher tries to pull Carver off of the ropes, but is kicked off. Thatcher hits some body shots and then hits the ropes. Carver hits the ropes, as well, and hits the Pounce. Carver grabs Thatcher and repeatedly slams his head into the apron over the bottom rope. Carver won’t stop the slamming of Thatcher’s head, so the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: Timothy Thatcher by Disqualification

Referees have to come from the back to stop Keanu Carver from slamming Thatcher’s head into the apron.

The Vanity Project are in the back. Prime Minister Stevie Turner comes into the room and she’s on the phone. She’s waiting for an update on Timothy Thatcher. The Vanity Project talks about Lince Dorado stealing a win last week. Turner interrupts and says that Lince Dorado has a EVOLVE Men’s Championship Match next week. Jackson Drake is signing the contract tonight. Jordan Oasis approaches and tells Drake to remember how to spell his own name on the contract.

A WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event commercial airs.

Chantel Monroe vs. Masyn Holiday with Layla Diggs

A promo box pops up during Masyn Holiday’s entrance with Layla Diggs. Diggs says that Chantel Monroe thinks she’s better than everyone, but she knows that’s not the real Chantel. Holiday says that they tried to be Monroe’s friend, so it’s not their problem anymore.

Monroe and Holiday lock up and Monroe grabs an arm. Holiday uses the ropes to flip into a reversal. Monroe grabs Holiday’s hair and reverses into an arm bar. Holiday rolls Monroe over and gets a two count. Holiday grabs an arm, but Monroe grabs her hair again and drives her to the ropes. Monroe hits a knee to the gut and sends Holiday to the ropes. Holiday hits a crossbody for a two count. Holiday grabs an arm bar with Monroe on the mat. Monroe gets to her feet and grabs Holiday’s hair again. Monroe hits a big forearm and then drives Holiday’s head into the top turnbuckle in two different corners. Monroe tries for a third corner, but eats an elbow and then has to kick out of a roll up.

Monroe snapmares Holiday and hits her with a rolling neck snap for a two count. Monroe slaps on an arm and neck stretch on a seated Holiday. Holiday gets to her feet, but eats a knee from Monroe. Holiday is sent to the ropes and is able to hit two tackles and a dropkick. Holiday hits a splash for a two count. Holiday lifts up Monroe, but Chantel wiggles out and pushes Holiday off. Monroe hits a leaping Code Breaker for the win!

Winner: Chantel Monroe

After the match, Chantel Monroe grabs a microphone. Masyn Holiday is now in the past and Monroe will be focused on the EVOLVE Women’s Championship Match. Whoever walks out with the title will be seeing Monroe. Kylie Rae’s music hits and she makes her way to the ring. Rae knows Monroe had a win tonight, but Rae has a huge win against Wendy Choo a few weeks ago. Therefore, Rae has to be in the conversation for the EVOLVE Women’s Championship. Tyra Mae Steele’s music hits and she makes her way to the ring. Steele is excited to be in EVOLVE. She’s loving the energy. Monroe says that no one invited Steele. Well, Steele has been talking to Prime Minister Stevie Turner and Steele is now in EVOLVE. Rae congratulates Steele. Steele says that her first match should be against the winner between Kali Armstrong and Natalya. Rae says that the line begins behind her. Monroe says the title is for her. Monroe lays out Rae and tries to do the same to Steele, but Tyra Mae ducks it and hits a German Suplex.

Chuey Martinez is outside of the trainer’s room. Prime Minister Stevie Turner comes out. Timothy Thatcher is not doing well, but will come back later to try and get an update. Ridge Holland interrupts. He’s been keeping tabs on EVOLVE. Holland in EVOLVE to show the young wrestlers what can happen to them in the business. Holland wants the winner of Jackson Drake and Lince Dorado. Turner says that things are not given in EVOLVE. Tate Wilder comes out of the trainer’s room. He’s been working on getting the medical records in order and is now ready to wrestle. Holland says that Wilder isn’t ready. Wilder has never backed down from a challenge. Turner has more important things to deal with, so she will deal with Wilder later.

A WWE Summerslam commercial airs.

Wendy Choo is shown backstage. She’s rocking back and forth and then lays down.

EVOLVE Men’s Championship Match Contract Signing

Prime Minister Stevie Turner is in the ring with a table and chairs. Lince Dorado makes his way out. Jackson Drake comes out with The Vanity Project.

Turner thanks Drake and Dorado for joining her in the ring. Next week, Drake will defend the EVOLVE Men’s Championship for the first time against Dorado. It’s time to put pen to paper and Turner goes to Dorado to start. Drake interrupts and says that the champ goes first. Going against Dorado is insane - he has won only one match and needed the LWO’s help. Next week, there won’t be a Lucha House Party.

Dorado has heard all that before. Dorado is back in the WWE. He came back to help the young wrestlers, but now - he’s in EVOLVE to beat Drake’s ass. Drake shows no respect to anyone. Dorado has been in WWE before Drake even started wrestling and will still be around once Drake’s hype dies down. No one can take away Drake being the first ever EVOLVE Men’s Champion, but next week he will take away the title.

Drake says that there’s a reason why he’s the first ever EVOLVE Men’s Champion. He has charisma and is a great wrestler…and he fights back, unlike La Yesca, Mr. Iguana’s stuffed iguana. Drake likes the view from the top and it won’t be changing for a long time. Drake signs the contract. Dorado laughs and is excited for the match. Drake made a huge mistake by not reviewing the contract. Dorado put in a clause - The Vanity Project are banned from ringside. Any interference will result in a disqualification and a title change. Dorado signs the contract.

Natalya is shown getting ready in the locker room for the main event.

A WWE Clash in Paris commercial airs.

Kendal Grey and Carlee Bright are in the locker room. Grey can’t believe that Zara Zakher isn’t the attacker. Bright jokes that Grey finally admitted that she was wrong. Grey wishes that she could be having fun in the ring with Bright and Bright agrees. Bright says that her rehab has been really tough. Bright gets cleared this weekend, though. Grey says that when Bright gets cleared, they will find the attacker.

Chuey Martinez is in the back with Sean Legacy. Legacy says that Timothy Thatcher was just transported to the hospital. Thatcher is old school, though, and will be back. Legacy says that what Keanu Carver did was inexcusable and will regret it.

*EVOLVE Men’s Champion Jackson Drake vs. Lince Dorado - The Vanity Project is Banned from Ringside

EVOLVE Women’s Champion Kali Armstrong vs. Natalya

They aggressively lock up and then break after neither woman can gain control. They lock up again and Kali Armstrong drives Natalya to the corner. They break and Armstrong pushes Natalya. Armstrong takes Natalya down and then hits the ropes. Natalya trips Armstrong and then grabs a stretch down on the mat. Natalya transitions to a cover that Armstrong kicks out of. Natalya hits a side headlock takeover and then brings Armstrong back down to the mat. Armstrong is able to get up, but Natalya hits another side headlock takeover. Armstrong is able to fight out of it, but Natalya tugs her down to the mat and then locks on a Surfboard. Armstrong gets out of it, but eats a couple of strikes from Natalya. Armstrong whips Natalya into the corner and charges in. Natalya moves out of the way and goes for a rope assisted suplex, but Armstrong lands on her feet and hits a clothesline as the show goes to a break.

A WWE WrestleMania commercial airs.

Back from the break, Armstrong hits a running shoulder attack in the corner. Armstrong slams Natalya’s head into the top turnbuckle and then works her over in the corner. Natalya shakes it off and sends Armstrong into the corner. Natalya lays in some strikes, but Armstrong turns it around and lays in some strikes of her own. Armstrong snapmares Natalya and gets a two count. Armstrong locks on an abdominal stretch. Natalya reverses into an abdominal stretch of her own. Armstrong reverses back into her own abdominal stretch again, but Natalya hits an arm drag and then a discus clothesline for a two count.

Both women are slow to get up. Armstrong recovers first and grabs Natalya. Natalya pushes Armstrong off and they exchange strikes until Natalya hits a series of punches. Armstrong cuts her off and sends Natalya into the ropes. Armstrong lifts up Natalya, but Natalya slips out and hits a Side Russian Leg Sweep. Natalya grabs an arm and neck stretch. Armstrong stands out of it, but Natalya sweeps her leg for a two count. Natalya tries to lock on the Sharpshooter, but is kicked off. Armstrong charges into the corner, but Natalya moves out of the way and hits a rope assisted throw. Natalya hits a running kick to Armstrong’s back and then her front for a two count.

Natalya tries to whip Armstrong, but Kali holds onto the ropes. Armstrong whips Natalya into the ropes and then lifts her up. Armstrong drives Natalya into the turnbuckles and then hits a running powerslam for a two count. Armstrong locks on a Camel Clutch and then jumps down on Natalya’s back. Armstrong goes for a slam, but Natalya slips out and grabs an Ankle Lock. Armstrong rolls out of it and grabs Natalya. Natalya hits a standing switch and then tries a series of roll ups. Armstrong kicks out of each one, but Natalya grabs a Crossface. Armstrong fights out of it. Natalya goes for a clothesline, but Armstrong hits a powerslam.

Armstrong hits the ropes and goes for the Kali Connection, but Natalya moves out of the way and locks on the Sharpshooter. Armstrong crawls to the ropes to break up the hold. Natalya tries to rain down some punches, but Armstrong is under the ropes so the referee breaks it up. That allows Armstrong to recover and hits the Kali Connection for the win!

Winner and STILL EVOLVE Women’s Champion: Kali Armstrong

Kali Armstrong is handed her title by the referee. Natalya goes to leave the ring, but Armstrong pulls her back. Armstrong offers a handshake, but Natalya hugs her instead and raises Armstrong’s hand in victory. Natalya leaves the ring.

Jin Tala hits the ring and attacks Kali Armstrong from behind. Tala yells at Armstrong that she has been the attacker and will do anything to get to the EVOLVE Women’s Championship.
