6/25 AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2025-06-25 22:18:00

It’s Wednesday and AEW Dynamite is live from Kent, WA at the accesso ShoWare Center. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Nigel McGuinness, and Tony Schiavone.

Mercedes Mone attacks Toni Storm as she and Luther come into the building. Mone tosses Storm onto the stage and then smacks a stagehand who hands her the mic. Mone tries to lock on the Statement Maker, saying she has been embarrassing Mone. She ignores the referees, but when Mina Shirakawa comes out, Mone bails and says, “Let the games begin.”

We then get the Young Bucks on the big screen, and they have bumped Will Ospreay's match to start right now.

Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland vs. Blake Christian and Lee Johnson

Will comes to the ring as he is taping his wrists and still needs to lace up his boots.

Swerve and Lee start the match and evade moves from each other and move to running the ropes. Swerve tries for a suplex, but Lee lands on his feet. Blake and Ospreay tag and then run the ropes. Blake gets a tijeras and follows with a dropkick. Ospreay gets a Manhattan drop and then tags in Swerve and they double-team Blake. Ospreay then hits a standing sky twister for two.

Damn, that was impressive.

Ospreay gets a springboard enzuigiri, and as Lee tries to attack, he gets tossed to the floor and Ospreay hits a dive onto him. Then, we get the music of the Young Bucks. They come to the stage and Blake gets a dropkick on Ospreay, nails Swerve, and then dives onto Ospreay as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we return to full screen, the Bucks are watching the match from the stage. Blake gets a Death Valley Driver, pops Swerve off the apron, and then hits a 450 on Ospreay for two. Ospreay fights to get to his corner for the tag and when whipped to Lee’s corner, he drops Lee and then gets an enzuigiri on Blake to crawl for the tag. Swerve gets the hot tag and runs wild.

Swerve ends the flurry with a rolling DDT on Blake for two. Blake gets a big boot, but Swerve gets a hip toss and Ospreay gets a crossbody to stop Lee from interfering. Swerve hits a brainbuster on Blake and then nails House Call for the pin and the win.

Winners: Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland

The Bucks send security to cut off Swerve and Ospreay and they return to the ring and Swerve grabs a mic. Swerve is sick of the bull crap from the EVPs and he won’t go another year dealing with them. He and Ospreay say they will do something about it. We’ve got another match at All In. Swerve says they need to up the stakes and the EVP titles need to be put on the line for the match. Swerve then dives onto the security and the Bucks bail to the back.

We then get a video showing the return of Kota Ibushi.

Matt and Nick Jackson are in the back and say that because Swerve put his hands on an official, he is suspended for the week. Kazuchika Okada shows up with his new friends, Rocky Romero, Konosuke Takeshita, and Trent Beretta, and after they discuss their feuds in the past, they want Trent Beretta to take out Ibushi.

After everyone else leaves, Takeshita tells Okada that this is just temporary.

Kota Ibushi vs. Trent Beretta w/Rocky Romero

They lock up and Trent forces them to the ropes. They break clean, but slowly. They trade waistlocks and Ibushi gets a drop with a front headlock. He moves to a snap mare and then a crucifix roll-up for two. Ibushi hits a dropkick and Rocky gets on the apron, allowing Trent to nail Ibushi. Trent then lays in forearms. Trent gets a big boot and knocks Ibushi to the floor. Rocky then lays in kicks on him as the ref is distracted.

Trent then kicks Ibushi into the barricade before rolling him into the ring. Ibushi avoids a charge into the corner and gets a powerslam on Trent. Both men struggle to get up. Ibushi is up first and lays in chops and kicks, knocking down Trent repeatedly. Ibushi gets a standing moonsault for two. Trent gets an arm drag followed by a thrust kick.

Trent gets a psycho knee and then a Gotch-style piledriver for two. Trent lays in some dismissive kicks and slaps and Ibushi gives Trent real kicks. Trent gets a half-and-half suplex, and Ibushi is up immediately and gets a lariat followed with a dragon suplex. Ibushi slowly gets to his feet and Trent tries for a roll-up; they go back and forth with two counts. Trent gets a lariat and follows with a swing, but Ibushi catches his arm and brings Trent down for a leaping double stomp.

Trent pulls Ibushi into the ropes and then runs right into a leaping knee strike. Ibushi then gets another knee strike for the pin and the win.

Winner: Kota Ibushi

Okada comes to the stage as soon as the match is over and walks to the ring. They have a staredown in the ring, head to head. Ibushi motions for Okada to bring it and Okada gets out of the ring and goes to the back. We are told that next week, it's Ibushi vs. Okada.

We get a promo from Jon Moxley on the stairs somewhere. Mox wonders if Adam Page will grab the opportunity, and Mox doesn’t think he’ll grab it. Mox says Page makes him sick and has less than zero sympathy for his plight. A champion walks into the fire and doesn't take a single ounce of crap from anyone.

Renee Paquette is with AR Fox and Ricochet shows up and says he is looking for people to join with him, and he asks him to team up with him against Jetspeed tonight. Before he can say anything, Ricochet says he is so happy he agreed and would never go back on a handshake.

Ricochet and AR Fox vs. Jetspeed (Speedball and Kevin Knight)

Fox and Knight start off the match and Ricochet tells Fox to listen to him. Knight attacks Ricochet and Bailey tosses Fox to the floor. Jetspeed ping-pongs him with blows and Fox tags in and tosses both of Jetspeed to the floor. Fox gets a stomp on Knight on the apron and then a senton to the floor on Bailey. Fox rolls Knight into the ring and gets a twisting suplex for two. Fox gets a clothesline and covers for two.

Ricochet gets the crowd to cheer for Fox as Taz says they should be working over Knight with quick tags. Knight and Fox trade waistlocks and Ricochet comes in to clothesline Knight, misses, and is sent to the floor. Fox is dumped to the floor and Jetspeed dives onto them as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we return to full screen, Ricochet and Fox start arguing about their strategy and Fox shoves Ricochet. Ricochet begs off, allowing Knight to get a big boot to Fox and dumping Ricochet to the floor. Bailey cleans house and gets a running shooting star press for two, broken up by Ricochet. Knight gets a blind tag and they double dropkick Ricochet to the floor. They then get a two-man lariat on Fox for two.

On the floor, Ricochet is tossed into the steel steps. Knight and Ricochet bump heads as Fox tried to toss Knight to the floor. Fox dives onto Bailey and then rolls Bailey into the ring. Fox gets Lo Mein Pain in the corner but can’t follow up. Both men crawl to their corners. Knight tags in and Ricochet leaves Fox high and dry. Knight gets a quick series of attacks on Fox and ends it with the UFO Splash for the pin and the win.

Winners: Jetspeed

Tony Schiavone is at the stage to talk to Jetspeed, who say they are coming for the Tag Team titles. They are attacked by Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, who don’t seem to agree that Jetspeed is worth getting a title shot. MVP and MJF take off as MVP says they need to get going as Lashley and Benjamin keep up the beatdown. MVP and MJF bring out a table.

Knight is laid out on the table and then Bailey is slammed onto him to break the table.

MVP grabs a mic and says he wants the titles brought out to him. He calls for their music and they march to the ring. MVP lets them pose in the ring and then says they are begging someone to stand up to the AEW Tag Team Champions. He says if Jetspeed can stand up after their beating, they can have a match at All In.

It’s then MJF’s turn to speak. He says he defeated and unmasked Mistico, and MVP tells the fans to be quiet. MJF says that next week he will be entering a qualifying match for the Casino Gauntlet match and get one step closer to his World Championship.

Instead of MJF’s music, we get Mark Briscoe’s music. Briscoe says MJF could listen to himself talk all night long, but he took too long, and he has a match right now.

MJF says they can take up as much time as they want because they are stars. He knows the fans relate to him because they are dirt ugly and dirt poor. He tells Mark to leave because if he gets in the ring, he will do what he always does and lose.

Mark says he’s hilarious and he sees MJF’s inner turmoil. He knows MJF was bullied as a child and it all comes from hurt, so the word of the day is Empathy. And the crowd chants empathy. He then says MJF’s hurtful words come from insufficiency.

MVP holds MJF back and reminds him they are about business. They will leave and watch Mark do what he does better than anyone else—lose.
