Good match. Newman and Taichi traded strikes and reversals. Newman hits a Poisonrana and followed with a flying knee strike. Newman hits the Prince's Curse.

Callum Newman has a spot in the G1 Climax 35 A Block.
Taichi still has the IWGP Tag Team belt so this loss does not hurt him. Callum Newman still needs to build himself up in the G1, just like Moloney needs to.
Newman tells the story of sneaking into the Kobo Hall to watch wrestling, with no ticket. The first wrestler he sees is Taichi. He considers Taichi to be one of the best wrestlers in the world. He apologizes that it had to be this way, but they had to face each other and he won. Newman says Taichi should be in every G1 that he can compete in because he is that good. Newman thanks Taichi, bows to him, and asks him to fight him someday again. Taichi shakes Newman's hand and bows to him.
Newman cuts a promo about how everyone wants to compete in New Japan and everyone wants to lead a faction. He just wants to compete and show that he is one of the best wrestlers in the world.
This was is a good way to get a babyface over. Goto, Umino, Oleg and Uemura were babyfaces who won their tag matches. However, Callum Newman won a hard fought match, put over his opponent in the loss, and made both himself and Taichi look strong. Newman gave the crowds a reason to cheer for him in the G1 Climax 35.
